Why is understanding our spiritual condition important?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding our spiritual condition helps us see our need for Christ and His saving grace.

Recognizing our true spiritual condition is crucial for genuine faith. Many, like Esau, may claim to have enough, oblivious to their spiritual poverty. They may attend church and profess faith yet remain unchanged. The doctrine of depravity—understanding that without Christ we are wretched and lost—enables us to grasp the depth of God's grace and our need for salvation. It is through the revelation of our sinfulness that we come to appreciate God's mercy and the gift of Christ.
