Why is understanding the concept of being under the law important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding being under the law is crucial as it shows our need for redemption through Christ.

Being under the law signifies our position before faith came and illustrates our bondage and helplessness in sin (Galatians 3:23-24). The law serves as a tutor, demonstrating that we cannot achieve righteousness and that we are all in need of grace. This acknowledgment leads us to Christ, who redeems us from the law's condemnation and transforms us into children of God. Without understanding our prior condition under the law, we fail to appreciate the depth of God's grace and the significance of our inheritance as His children.
