Why is understanding the revelation of Christ important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Understanding the revelation of Christ is crucial for Christians as it directly impacts their knowledge of God and their salvation.

The revelation of Christ is of utmost importance for Christians because it is the foundational truth upon which our faith and relationship with God are established. In John 17:3, Jesus states, "And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent." Gaining an understanding of who Christ is, why He came, and what He accomplished is essential for obtaining true eternal life.

Additionally, the revelation highlights our position in Christ and secures our identity as God’s chosen people. Ephesians 1:4-5 reminds us that we were chosen in Him before the foundation of the world. This comprehension of revelation not only assures us of our salvation but also empowers us to live in a way that reflects Christ’s love and grace. Without this revelation, our faith may lack depth and knowledge, leading to a superficial understanding of God's work in our lives.
