Why is working for the Lord important for Christians?

Answered in 1 source

Working for the Lord is an expression of our gratitude for His grace and a means to glorify Him.

In Christian life, work is not for salvation but is a response to salvation. Nehemiah demonstrates this principle as he engages his people to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, emphasizing that their efforts are for God’s glory. In Colossians 3:23, we are instructed to work heartily as for the Lord, recognizing that our labor is part of our witness and worship unto Him. Thus, work becomes an integral part of living out our faith, showcasing how God's grace prompts us to serve joyfully and diligently in every aspect of our lives.
