Why is worshiping God in truth essential?

Answered in 1 source

Worship must be rooted in truth to be acceptable to God, involving sincere faith in Christ.

Worshiping God in truth involves acknowledging who God is through His revealed Word and engaging with Him accordingly. As indicated in the sermon, true worship cannot be based on human traditions or preferences. Instead, it must stem from a sincere heart that recognizes Jesus Christ as 'the way, the truth, and the life' (John 14:6). This means that our approach to God in worship must be consistent with biblical truth, reflecting not only sincerity but also fidelity to His revelations in Scripture. Otherwise, any worship merely represents human ideas and becomes vain, as stated in Matthew 15:9, where Jesus condemns worship that is not grounded in His commands.
