Why should a believer be content?

Answered in 1 source

A believer should be content because discontentment can lead to spiritual and personal dangers.

Believers should embrace contentment because discontentment can be spiritually perilous, leading to compromised faith and dissatisfaction with God's provisions. The danger lies in focusing on what one lacks rather than appreciating the abundance already given by God. Furthermore, as stated in 1 Timothy 6:6-7, godliness with contentment is great gain, teaching us that true wealth is found in appreciating God's gifts rather than chasing after worldly desires. Recognizing that God provides everything necessary for life fosters a heart of gratitude and peace.
