Why should Christians aim to focus on Christ when reading the Bible?

Answered in 1 source

Christ should be the focus of Bible reading because the scriptures testify of Him and reveal God’s plan of redemption.

Every passage of Scripture is designed to point readers to Christ and His work of redemption. As indicated in John 5:39, searching the scriptures leads to discovering eternal life through Him. When Christians approach the Bible with the intent to see Jesus, they encourage deeper spiritual understanding and personal application, preventing the reading from becoming a mere religious duty. This practice cultivates a vibrant relationship with Christ, cultivating love and commitment over mere obligation.
