Why should Christians avoid returning to the law?

Answered in 2 sources

Christians should avoid returning to the law because it leads to bondage rather than the freedom of grace.

In Galatians 4, Paul cautions believers against reverting to the law after experiencing the freedom found in Christ. The law, as Paul's argument showcases, brings a burden that we cannot bear and creates fear instead of love. Once believers have tasted the grace of God, there is no reason to go back to the weak and beggarly elements of the law, as doing so would strip away the joy and security found in a relationship with Christ. Instead, we are called to walk in the Spirit and embrace the liberty granted by His grace.
