Why should Christians be thankful?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should be thankful because all good things stem from God, including our salvation and spiritual blessings.

In Romans 1:8, Paul begins by giving thanks to God, a model for Christians as gratitude is central to our faith. As believers, we are called to recognize that every good gift originates from God, as articulated in James 1:17, which states that every perfect gift is from above. Not only should we express thankfulness for material blessings, but we should be especially grateful for spiritual blessings such as forgiveness, grace, and the Holy Spirit's guidance. This attitude of thanksgiving deepens our relationship with God and cultivates a heart of worship, reflecting our acknowledgment of His sovereign grace in our lives.
