Why should Christians care about their works?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should care about their works because they reflect true faith and will be evaluated at the judgment.

The emphasis on works in the Christian life stems from the biblical teaching that faith must be evidenced by actions. Matthew 25:31-46 discusses how Jesus will judge the nations based on their treatment of others, particularly the needy. This affirms that while believers are justified by faith alone, the authenticity of that faith is evidenced through a life of good works, which are a natural result of true belief. Preparing for judgment means being conscious of how we live out our faith, as our actions reveal the faith that claims to be alive within us.
