Why should Christians love God?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should love God because of His immeasurable love and the abundance of His grace in their lives.

Christians are called to love God in response to His love for them, as indicated in 1 John 4:19. This love is not based on our merit but stems from His grace and mercy. Understanding who we are without Christ—that we deserve death—deepens our love for Him. Moreover, the countless blessings we receive, such as being chosen, called, and cared for, all serve as reasons to love Him back. The recognition of His continual presence and guidance in our lives drives us to worship and adore Him, acknowledging that our love is merely a response to His initiating love toward us.
