Why should Christians prioritize the church over family?

Answered in 1 source

Christians should prioritize the church because it represents the eternal family of God, established for worship and truth.

In the teaching of Christ, the church is emphasized as the eternal body of believers, whom He loves and for whom He died (Ephesians 5:25). While families are indeed valuable, the church holds a unique and eternal place in God's plan. Jesus Himself indicated that the bonds of faith and fellowship among believers far surpass even familial ties, as seen in Matthew 12:49-50. The church, being the house of God, should be a priority because it is where believers gather to uphold truth, support one another, and fulfill the call to spread the gospel. Recognizing the church as a spiritual family helps believers understand their vital role in it.
