Why should parents set limits for their children?

Answered in 1 source

Setting limits protects children and teaches them responsibility and safety.

Parents must set limits for their children to guide them toward a safe and responsible adulthood. Children, by nature, are unregenerate and may not recognize the dangers around them. Therefore, boundaries act as protections that safeguard them from harm and guide their behavior. Limits instill a sense of order and help children learn that their actions have consequences. By teaching children about appropriate limits, parents are instilling responsible behavior that will serve them throughout their lives in society, enhancing their ability to make wise decisions.
