Why should preachers not seek to please men?

Answered in 1 source

Preachers should not seek to please men, as their calling is to deliver God's message rather than gain human favor.

Preachers are cautioned against seeking to please men because their primary responsibility is to God, who tests the hearts (1 Thessalonians 2:4). Pleasing men can lead to compromising the message and diluting the Gospel for acceptance or applause, which ultimately betrays the trust placed in them by God. Instead, they must focus on delivering the truth of God's Word with sincerity, knowing that their accountability is to God alone. The goal of preaching is to glorify God and edify His people, not to gain popularity or personal advantage.
