Why should we not trust in mankind for salvation?

Answered in 1 source

Mankind cannot provide true salvation or deliverance; only God holds that power.

Psalm 146's warning against trusting in princes emphasizes that humans, no matter how powerful, cannot offer spiritual salvation or deliverance. Jeremiah 17:5 speaks of a curse upon those who place their trust in man, highlighting the futility of relying on human strength or wisdom. Only God is the source of salvation, and He has revealed Himself through His Son, Jesus Christ. When we lean on human understanding or authority, we place ourselves in precarious positions, as all flesh is finite and subject to decay. The psalmist reminds us that true deliverance comes solely from the Lord, who reigns forever.
