Why should we pray for the unsaved if God has chosen the elect?

Answered in 1 source

We pray for the unsaved because God has ordained the means of prayer and the preaching of the Gospel to fulfill His purpose of salvation.

Although it may seem counterintuitive to pray for those whom God has not chosen, it is essential to understand that God has ordained specific means to accomplish His divine purposes. The act of praying and preaching the Gospel is vital because it aligns with God's will and authority. Paul’s heartfelt prayer in Romans 10:1 for the salvation of Israel exemplifies our responsibility and privilege to intercede for the lost, trusting that God's Spirit will work in accordance with His sovereign plan and grace. Our prayers are ultimately part of the means that God uses to bring about the salvation of His elect.
