Why should we prioritize worship over worldly cares?

Answered in 1 source

We should prioritize worship because worldly cares can distract us from our relationship with God, which is ultimately what sustains us.

Focusing on worship over worldly cares is crucial for maintaining a vibrant spiritual life. In Luke 10:40-41, Martha's concerns about serving distracted her from the presence of Christ, which resulted in anxiety and frustration. Jesus reminded her that while serving is important, sitting at His feet to absorb His teachings is of greater significance. As Christians, we are called to seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33), bringing our worldly concerns before Him without allowing them to overshadow our worship and devotion. Neglecting worship for worldly cares can lead to spiritual stagnation, whereas prioritizing Christ enables refreshing of our souls and guidance in our daily lives.
