Alright brethren, let's turn
to Isaiah chapter 62. Isaiah 62. We know that this is Christ speaking
because back in Isaiah 61.1, we know that to be a verse that
Christ quoted when He was preaching. when He walked this earth and
He said it applied to Him. And this is Christ that is speaking
now here in our text in Isaiah 62 verses 6 through 9. Our subject is Christ's charge
to urgency. And that's what Christ is giving
His people here is a charge to urgency. Let's divide it into
three parts. We have a word from Christ to
His people. A word from Christ to His people. He says, verse 6, I have set
watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their
peace day nor night. And then, secondly, we have a
word from Christ to His preachers, to His watchmen. Verse 6, Ye
that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give him
no rest, till he establish, until he make Jerusalem a praise in
the earth. And then lastly, we have a word
from Christ to His people and His preachers. He says in verse
8, The Lord hath sworn by His right hand, and by the arm of
His strength, Surely, I will no more give thy corn to be meat
for thine enemies, and the sons of the strangers shall not drink
thy wine for the which thou hast labored. Verse 9. But they that
have gathered it shall eat it, and shall praise the Lord. And they that have brought it
together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness. Now brethren, I've watched a
generation, the generation that came before me and the generation
before that. I've watched this generation, some among that generation that
were greatly used of God in the preaching of His gospel and spreading
His gospel throughout this world. I've seen some men and women
that were greatly used of God in His church. God gave him the
heart since he called me over 30 years ago. I've been ministered
to by these people, by these churches and these faithful preachers. And I've benefited greatly from
it. My family has benefited greatly from it. And you have benefited
from it. And Christ, what He did was He
filled those men and those women with His determination, with
His urgency. He gave them a heart to give
themselves for the furtherance of His gospel. He gave them a
heart to give themselves so that the most important thing
to them was seeing that His gospel was preached. And not only by
supporting a faithful pastor where they were, and not only
him preaching to that people where he was, but sending their
preacher far and wide, and sending messages far and wide through
tapes and videos, and supporting missionaries, and things that
God greatly used through the years in established churches
all through the world and called His people out. greatly used
those people. But now, I've seen this too. I've seen many of those faithful
people and their faithful preachers are no longer able to give themselves
to the work like they used to. Some are with the Lord now. Some
have health issues. They just can't do what they
used to do. And I know some now that are
doing everything they can in the last little bit of time they
have to preach this gospel and spread this gospel forth because
they know it won't be long. They won't be able to do it anymore. It makes you see what a little
bitty short window of time God gives you to serve Him in this
world, to minister His gospel, to preach His gospel, to set
His glories forth. You just have a little short
window of time in this world. Now our text here is Christ giving
us three words. He has given us three words to
encourage us. He's given us these three words
to put a sense of urgency in His people. And I pray He'll
bless these three words to our heart. I want to be like those
faithful preachers that ministered to me. And I want to see this
church to be like those faithful churches that were used to minister
to me. To give ourselves to Him, to
give ourselves to Christ, to give ourselves for the furtherance
of the gospel. Here's what Christ is teaching
here. Christ shall not keep silence and He shall not rest till He
has called each and every one of His redeemed children to life
and faith in Him. He will not rest till He's done
it. He will not hold His peace. And Christ here is declaring
to us He will have us to have the same urgency about this matter
of preaching His name that He has. The very same urgency that He
has, He'll have His church to have. Now let's begin here with
this first word from Christ to His people. He says in verse
6, I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall
never hold their peace, day or night. The first thing Christ
does here is He just eases the mind of His people concerning
watchmen, concerning preachers, concerning faithful ministers
of the Gospel. He eases our minds concerning
that. He says, first of all, to you,
to you right here, He says, I have provided you a faithful watchman.
And He says concerning His churches now and His churches to come,
to the end of time, I have set watchmen upon thy walls. So we
can be at ease now when you see these faithful pastors that are
getting up in years to minister anymore, and you think, who's
going to keep preaching? Christ says, don't worry about
that. I've set them. I've already set
them. They're going to be ministers. I'm going to bring forth My ministers. They're going to minister in
My Word. It's Christ who provides His preachers. He's the head
of the church. It's His covenant responsibility
as our mediator to do this for His people. You know Jeremiah
3.15. It says, I will give you pastors
according to mine heart which shall feed you with knowledge
and understanding. And I've said this to you time
and again. That's a prophecy. That's a prophecy
spoken by Jeremiah the prophet. And we know Christ is going to
bring that to pass because Christ said, I didn't come to destroy
the law and the prophets. I came to fulfill it. And Christ's
going to fulfill that very prophecy. He says, I have set watchmen
upon thy walls. He's the one that provides them
and sets them. And if you've taken notes and you want to jot
down some scripture on that, you go to Ephesians 4 and you
can read there where when He ascended, He gave gifts to men. And He's still doing it. He's
still giving His preachers. And then notice this word's in
the past tense. He said, I have set them. I have
set watchmen on your walls. It's been determined before the
foundation of the world that He set them. I have set them.
Like we saw last week, He told Jeremiah, before I separated
you from your mother's womb, I knew you. And I ordained you
a prophet. Our God has set them apart. And He's already set them. He's
going to gather for them to minister to. preacher, he's going to put with
that people. Already done. And then he assures this, they're
going to be faithful. They will be faithful. He says
here, they're watchmen. That's what they are. And they're
upon thy walls, O Jerusalem. And they'll never hold their
peace day or night. Now you look at this metaphor
of a watchman and it tells you what God's preachers are. They're
watchmen. They're watchmen. A watchman,
he says here, is set upon the wall of the city. You get the
picture of a watchman. There's a walled city. And that
watchman is set on that wall. Do you know what the wall of
this city is? Do you know what the wall surrounding
Christ's church is? It's Christ. Remember in the
Scripture where he said, I will set salvation, capital S, for
walls. and for bulwarks. Your walls
surrounding you, you're being hedged about by Christ Himself.
He's the wall. And so what does it say here?
I'm going to set your watchman on Christ the wall. And when he sets his preacher
on Christ, now you've got a faithful watchman because he's set on
Christ. Christ is who he's consumed with. And I tell you what, you know
what a wall is? A wall's a vantage point. When you're up on a wall,
you can see and you can hear and you can... That's a vantage
point. Well, that's what Christ is for
His preachers. He's a vantage point. And that's
what we do. We watch and we hear and we see. From who? From Christ. And then
what do we do? The watchman blows a trumpet.
And the purpose of that is he's alerting the people in the city,
the citizens of that city. He's waking them up to give them
good news or to warn them about danger. And that's what the preacher
is. If you want to turn there, you
can look a few pages to your right to Ezekiel 33. This is
what the watchman is. Listen to this. I'm just going
to read one verse here, Ezekiel 33, 7. So thou, O son of man,
I'll let you get there, Ezekiel 33, 7. So thou, O son of man, I have
set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel. That's what
Christ's preachers are. And he says this, Therefore thou
shalt hear the word at my mouth and warn them from me. And that's what God's preacher's
doing. Look at Isaiah 52. Isaiah 52. Look at verse 6. He says, Isaiah 52, 6, Therefore
my people shall know my name. Therefore they shall know in
that day that I am he that doth speak. Behold, it is I. How are they going to know? How
are they going to know it's Christ speaking? Look down at verse
8. Thy watchman shall lift up the voice. With thee voice together
shall they sing, for they shall see eye to eye. Now, that does
mean that Christ's preachers are going to be in agreement
with each other, because we're going to be taught by the same
Spirit. So we're going to be, I'm lifting up my voice today,
and His other faithful preachers are somewhere lifting up their
voice today, and we're lifting up our voices together, because
we see eye to eye, we're preaching the same gospel. But I'll tell
you something else that means too. He says, this is how you're
going to know it's me that's speaking. Because when they lift
up their voice, they're doing it together with the voice, with
Christ the voice. And that's the only way we're
going to be affectionately made to know in our hearts it's Christ
speaking. Because Christ says, I'm going to speak. I'm going
to speak through my preacher. Now that's what he's saying.
This is a comforting word to us. Christ has sent watchmen.
He sent watchmen. And we don't have to worry about
that. It's like he's saying this to Jerusalem. You've been in
bondage. You've been in Babylon. You've
been in bondage. You've been pining away and praying that
God would give you watchmen. And he says, now, I've given
you watchmen. Now that's something you don't
have to worry about anymore. Now what? You've got the watchmen
you need now. Now what? What are you going
to do now? What are you going to do now? Here's the next word. It's the Word from Christ to
those watchmen, to His preachers. And it's not just to His preachers,
it's to everybody in the church who's a believer, who's called
by Him, because in a sense, we're all watchmen. You know, you've
got fathers and mothers, sisters and brothers who know the Gospel,
and you're watchmen in your house, and you're watchmen to a degree
in the Church of God, you're watchmen in your community, you're
watchmen as far as being able to know the Word of God and declare
the Word of God. So we're all watchmen in a sense
in His church, but this is especially to His preachers. Especially
to His preachers. Look here now at verse 6. Ye
that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give Him
no rest till He establish, until He make Jerusalem a praise in
the earth. Now first of all, when He's addressing
His preachers and His people here, He declares who we are
to preach. Who are we to preach? Ye that
make mention of the Lord. We're not here to preach man. We're not gathered by Christ
to preach man. What is there to preach about
man? You're a sinner. You can't do anything. You can't
save yourself. End of that story. That's all
there is to say about that. We're here to preach Christ and
His marvelous works. God is going to have His Son
exalted and that's who we're here to exalt. That's who we're
here to preach. Look over at Isaiah 40 and look
at verse 9. He says there, O Zion, now that
bringest good tidings, that's that holy mountain, that's that
holy city, You and I, His people, His church, O Zion that bring
us good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain where
you can be heard. O Jerusalem that bring us good
tidings, lift up thy voice with strength. Keep not silence. Lift it up. Be not afraid. Say
unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God. There's our message. Behold your God. And what is
He going to do? As you are preaching, behold
your God, and you are declaring His works, what does He say He
is going to do? Look at verse 10. Behold, the
Lord God will come with strong hand, and His arms shall rule
for Him. Behold, His reward is with Him
and His work before Him. Well, that speaks of what Christ
did when He came the first time and redeemed His people. Yes,
it does. But it also speaks of what He is doing right now when
this Gospel is going forth. He comes forth. He comes forth,
and look at this, verse 11, He shall feed His flock like a shepherd.
He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and He shall carry them
in His bosom, and He shall gently lead those that are with young.
You see, we're making mention of the Lord. In 1 Chronicles
it says, Declare His glory among the heathen. His marvelous works
among all nations. That's what we're preaching.
His glory. His works. You see, that's the
difference between God's church and this world's church. You
go to a church in this world, and they think they're building
a church, and they're building something great for God, and
they're going to do something that's going to make God be indebted
to them, and all you hear preached there is man, man, man, man,
man, man, man. That's not our message. Our message
is Christ, Christ, Christ, Christ. In fact, that word there where
he says, you that make mention of the Lord, my margin says,
ye that are the remembrances of the Lord. That's what preaching
is. You know, I had a lady, a very
nice lady, and she meant well, but she didn't have a clue what
she was talking about. And she said to me one time about
how she was going to give me some books and things so that,
you know, in my preaching I'd have some new material. Well,
I'm not looking for new material. I'm not looking for new material.
The true preaching is to remind the Lord's people of what God's
already made you to know. We're to remind you of Christ
who God's already made you to know. Listen to Peter. 2 Peter
1.12. Listen to this. I will not be negligent to put
you always in remembrance of these things. Though you know
them, and though you be established in the present truth, yea, I
think it meet as long as I'm in this tabernacle, as long as
I'm in this body, walking this earth, to stir you up by putting
you in remembrance. You know what I'm trying to do
today? Stir you up. How? or putting
you in remembrance of Christ and what He promises to do. That's
right. Remember His marvelous works.
Remember what He has done, the psalmist said. Remember His wonders
and remember His judgments and remember the words of His mouth.
And in fact, when God speaks to you, that's what God says.
Look at Isaiah 43, 25. If Christ speaks to you in the
heart, this is what He's going to say to you. Look at Isaiah
43, 25. I, even I, am he that blotteth
out thy transgressions for my own sake. For my own sake. And I will not remember thy sins.
Put me in remembrance. Put me in remembrance. Let us
plead together. Declare thou that thou mayest
be justified. Now listen carefully. Next in
our text. Listen, I want you to see what
our Lord said. He says to you and me, specifically to me, but
to all of us that are witnesses of Christ, He says you be urgent
in this matter of preaching His name. Look at the text there. You that make mention of the
Lord, Isaiah 62, look at verse 6. You that make mention of the
Lord, keep not silence. Keep not silence. He said up
there, these faithful watchmen I'm going to give, they're not
going to be silent day or night. What does that day or night mean?
It means in season and out of season. It means when you're
well received and everybody's saying amen and when they're
giving you the stink eye. It means when you feel good You
feel like you got a message from the Lord, and when you're just
flat worn out and don't feel like you got anything, preach
His Word. Preach His Word. I felt terrible
one time, and I didn't get up to preach, and I asked one of
the men to preach for me, and a faithful pastor got word of
that. He heard that. I don't know who
told him. Maybe one of y'all called and told him. I don't
know. But he called me up, and he said, why didn't you preach?
I said, I just didn't Didn't feel like I had anything, didn't,
you know, this and that. He said, I don't care what you
feel like. And he said, if you, God's put
you there, it's your responsibility to preach. He said, if all you
can do is get up and read a psalm, get up and read a psalm. But
he said, you don't keep silent. You go there and you preach the
Word. And that's what he says to his people, to his preacher.
You preach the Word, you keep not silent. And get this now,
this is so very important, verse 7. He says, and give him no rest. Give him no rest. Now look back
at verse 1. Christ speaks there and He says,
For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace. And for Jerusalem's
sake I will not rest until the righteousness thereof go forth
as brightness and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burns.
Everything Christ does, He's doing for Zion's sake. He's doing
it for Jerusalem's sake. He'd do it for those God chose
and gave it to him before the foundation of this world. That's
what Christ is doing. And he says here, for their sake,
I won't rest and I won't hold my peace. And when Christ walked
this earth, we saw it in Joseph this morning, when Christ walked
this earth, He did not rest. He went about doing His Father's
business and He didn't stop until He had gone to that cross and
established righteousness and justified His people and brought
in everlasting righteousness and put away our sins by the
sacrifice of Himself. By standing in the room instead
of His people and bearing the judgment of God in place of His
people, He settled judgment between God and His people. And He didn't
stop until He had made that righteousness go forth and that salvation go
forth. Christ did that. And then when He got finished,
you know what He did? He did what no priest ever did on the
day of atonement. Christ accomplished atonement.
He accomplished propitiation. So what did He do when He finished?
He went to the right hand of the Father and He sat down. Why? The work was finished. The work
was finished. He sat down and He's entered
into His rest. But right now, brethren, this
is the thing about it. As the work of redemption, that's
finished. The work of redemption's done.
There's nothing you can add to it, nothing I can add to it.
Redemption's accomplished. He has redeemed us from the curse
of the law by the sacrifice of Himself. That's done. It's finished.
Righteousness is brought in. But right now, Christ Himself
is actively sending forth His Gospel and
preaching His Word and He says, I will not keep silent and I
will not rest until I've called every one of those that I've
redeemed. He's not going to lose one. They're His sheep. He bought them with His own blood
and He's not going to lose any of them. God gave Him all power
in heaven and earth. God gave Him all power to work
this work, to send His preachers forth and to make it effectual
in the heart by praying to the Father. And the Father sends
the Holy Spirit in our heart, regenerates us, and He's going
to keep His sheep through the preaching of this Word. You see,
this is the most important thing there is in this earth, brethren,
what's happening right here. And men don't believe that. If
men really believed that, this place would be packed full of
people right here this morning. People don't believe that. They
got better things to do. It's a lot more important to
go out and ride a Harley today. Or go to the lake. do some sunbathing,
or whatever upteen things it is that men make excuses for.
But I'm telling you brethren, there's nothing as important
as this gospel going forth. But now here's what our Lord
says. Don't keep silent. But here's the other thing. Don't
give Him any rest either. He says, I will not rest. But
then He tells you, now you don't give Him any rest. Our Lord ever
lives to make intercession for us. He's the one that prays to
the Father on behalf of His people. And He says to you now, you don't
stop to pray to Him. Why? Because He's going to trust
to you. He's going to give to you and
me the privilege of being a sounding board for this gospel. He's going
to give us the privilege. You're the privilege of supporting
it in everything. He's given you a job. If you
have a job as a believer, why do you have that? If so, you can support the preaching
of the gospel. Number one. Number one. Well, what about my family? That's
the number one thing that's important for your family. Number one. And it's to spread it forth because
He's still got sheep He's going to call out. That's number one.
But He says to you, you don't have any power in you to do anything
whatsoever, and I don't either. And so we have to constantly
in opportunity, in need, in casting ourselves on Him, though we are
to keep not silence in preaching His Word, we're to keep not silence
in giving Him no rest and asking Him, Lord, save Your people.
I find myself walking around just at random times and odd
times. You know when the world gets
all out of shape and they're talking about, oh, they won't
let us pray at this place, that place. Don't get caught up in
all that. Man, you can pray anywhere you
want to, anytime you want to. And can't nobody stop you. And
you just be wherever you're at. And I find myself praying, Lord,
will you bless your people? Will you make the Word, give
me the Word to preach and make it effectual in your people?
And do it, Lord, in spite of me. Because I get in the way. Do it in spite of me. I get in
my own way. I know I get in your way. Do
it in spite of me. And He will. And He does to show
you. You're not the one doing it.
I'm not the one doing it. We don't have any ability. You
know, sometimes these costs get to coming up in the things we
have to do, and we want to do this new ministry or that one,
or like we talk about buying a building, things come up, we
think, well, I don't know if we can afford to do that. Guess
what, brethren? We can't, and it's on purpose.
You don't have any ability in you to work out a righteousness
before God. You don't even have an ability
to provide for yourself today. in temporal things. That's the
whole purpose by God. So that we're ever at His feet
asking Him, Lord, be our strength. And He's the strength of His
people. The only strength of His people. Now get the point
here, what He says. He says, give him no rest, look
at this, till He establish. Till He makes Jerusalem a praise
in the earth. He's the one that's going to
bless His people. And He's telling you here now, I've called you
to faith in Christ, I've robed you in my righteousness, I've
given you watchmen, I've provided all this for you. But your race
is not run. You haven't reached the end of
your race yet. And He's saying to us here now, you go forth
and you preach this Word. And you know as you're doing
it, it's going to be an uphill battle the whole way. Has there
ever been anything since we fell into sin that's been easy in
this life, other than sinning? If you go out and you're going
to pull the water hose out and water your flowers, that water
hose is going to kink every time. And I don't care if it's the
least little thing like that to the hardest thing. The Lord
said, you're going to earn your bread in the sweat of your brow
because we fell into sin, brethren. It's going to be hard. But this
is what the Lord said. The kingdom of heaven suffers
violence. And He said in His people, they
take it by force. What does that mean? What does
that mean? That means that it's going to
be difficult. Brother John Chapman, down in
Ashland, he said this statement. No one has ever been saved casually. Isn't that true? It's so. Hell's trying to prevent it from
happening. Hell's throwing up their gates trying to stop it
from happening. But the gates of hell can't prevail against
God and His church. It's active. It's a warfare,
brethren. Our warfare concerning redemption
is accomplished. But this thing of calling out
His people is a constant uphill battle. We're in a warfare. And
we will be till we leave this earth. He tells you here, you
pray to Him. You pray to Him. So you see here,
listen to this now. The preacher, here's his job.
Here's his job. Day and night, this is his job.
Number one, he's to speak to the people for God. He's to make
mention of the Lord. He's to keep his people in remembrance
of the Lord in his works. Number one. Number one. And number
two, he's to plead with God for his people. Constantly. And you'll have people coming
up to you as a preacher telling you, you know, this is what you
ought to be doing. I don't care who they are or what. Everybody
knows what the preacher ought to be doing. Everybody does. This is the two-fold work of
the preacher. Preach his gospel and ask him to bless it. What's your work? What's your
job? What's your responsibility? Take
everything God's put in your hand, everything God's given
you, every door God's opened for you to make sure God's preacher
can do those two things. You say, well, that seems real
simple. That's it. We just make it a
lot harder. A lot harder. That's it, brethren. It's to spread this gospel. Isn't
it so wise that God would choose to save through the preaching
of the gospel, putting a group of sinners together, and some
fellow that He's got no power or speaking ability, and bring
Him to preach. And we all have to look over
our faults and our sins and our shortcomings and everything,
because we see that we've got to have the Word of God. We've
got to have Christ preaching His Gospel in our midst. And
so we do everything to keep it going. And we look beyond these
walls. We look to other places where
this Word will be spread, because we want to see Him call out His
sheep. One day, brethren, Just imagine,
one day, He's going to call the last one. And we're all going home. That's
right. Now, I want to show you one last
thing. One last thing. He says now, on this point, He
said, whatever you do, do in word or deed, do it all in the
name of the Lord and give thanks to God and the Father by Him.
Now, that's our work. Now, here's the last thing. I
want you to see this. And this is a sure promise to God. This
is a word to His people and His preachers. It's a word to all
of us right here. It's His church. Verse 8. The Lord hath sworn by His right
hand and by the arm of His strength. Who's that? Here's Christ. Capital L-O-R-D is Jehovah, God. Here's Christ standing between
you and me and the Lord God. declaring to us what the Lord
God has sworn to us. And the Lord God has sworn this
by Christ who is His right hand, by Christ who is the arm of His
strength. That means it's sure. The promises
of God are yes and amen in Christ. Now here's what the promise is.
Verse 8, Surely I will no more give your corn to meet for your
enemies, and the sons of the strangers shall not drink your
wine for the which thou hast labored. What does that mean? Let me try to put it as simply
as I can. As the children of Israel sinned against God, God
was continually taking down the heads around them and turning
them over to their enemies. And the enemies were coming in,
the enemy nations, and eating up all the fruits of their labor,
their corn and their wine. And it was a constant reminder
that you and I We can't keep the law of God and obey God in
perfect righteousness and holiness of ourselves. Everything that
we try to do, the fruits is dead fruit and it's going to be eaten
up by our enemies if left to ourselves because we can't work
out a righteousness ourselves. That's what Paul said in Romans
7 when he said, when you were dead in your sins, all you brought
forth was dead fruit. It was constantly eaten up by
your enemies. But He's saying here now, I've
sworn to you, that was under the old covenant, but He's saying
to you, I've sworn to you now under the new covenant, under
the covenant of grace. The arm of my strength is Christ.
The hand that's worked this work and done this labor is Christ. And His labor I'm imputing to
you. His work, His labor, I'm counting
it as your labor, as your work, He says to His child. And He
says, So I swear to you in Christ my Son that I will not give your
corn and your wine to the enemy anymore. In other words, your
enemies are conquered. In other words, we're more than
conquerors through Christ that loved us. What enemy is it that's
going to come in now and eat up Christ as the corn, and He's
the wine, He's the bread, He's the righteousness, the holiness?
All the fruits are of Him, by His labor, by what He's done
for His people, and it's all freely given to us. Now tell
me what enemy is going to take that fruit from you. Is it going
to be the law or the curse? That's not our enemy anymore.
He fulfilled the law and redeemed us from the curse. Is it death? He conquered death. So death's
not our enemy anymore. It's got no sting. He took sin
away. Is it Satan? He's put him on a chain. He's
not going to be able to do anything and he's God's devil anyway. He can't do nothing but what
God gives him permission to do. Well, if it's not the law and
the curse and death and hell and Satan, is it the world? Christ said, I've overcome the
world, and you've overcome the world and me. There is no enemy
now that can destroy the fruit that Christ has labored for and
given to His people freely. But here's what He said, verse
9, But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the
Lord. Don't you love it when God attributes
something to us that we have nothing to do with? You that's
gathered this fruit. How did you gather it? Well,
Christ worked it all out. Christ harvested it. Christ brought
the fruit forth. Then Christ called you dead in
sins and brought you forth and put all the fruit in your hands
and broke you in the fruit and clothed you inwardly and outwardly
with all this fruit of His hand And He says, now you that's gathered
this fruit, you're going to eat this fruit. And that's His promise. You're
going to have this fruit to eat. And you know what you're going
to do? Because this is how this fruit was gathered, we're going
to praise the Lord. We're going to give Him all the
glory. Because He did it all. And where are we going to eat
it? Where are we going to eat this fruit? We're going to eat
it in His church. Look here, verse 9. And they
that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts
of my holiness. You see, when He calls you into
His church, it's something more than just... This is a local
body, but it's something greater than that, brethren. We're called
together with those that are already in glory. We're one with
His people. Now you've been called to Mount
Sinai. You didn't come to Mount Sinai.
You didn't come to a mount that could be touched. You've been
called to the heavenly Jerusalem. You've been called into this
heavenly number with His people. You know what's happening this
morning? Wherever His cities are, wherever His churches are,
wherever His faithful preachers are preaching in, wherever His
people are gathered together by His grace, all of them, together,
along with everybody that's in heaven already with Him. We're
all gathered around the feet of our Lord Jesus Christ, looking
at our Lord Jesus Christ and glorying in our Lord Jesus Christ
right now, in heaven and in earth. That's what we're doing. Look at Revelation 7. Look at
Revelation 7, verse 14. I'll end with this. I know this
is going to come to pass. and have a greater meaning, but
it's got a meaning right now, brethren. Look here, Revelation
7, verse 14. He asked me, Who are these in
these white robes? And I said unto him, Sir, thou
knowest. And he said to me, These are
they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed
their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore
are they before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and
night in His temple. You know what He told us? He
said, You don't keep silence day or night before My people
or to Me. Day and night. We serve Him day
and night in His temple, and He that sits on the throne shall
dwell among them, and they shall hunger no more, neither thirst
any more. You know what He said? I'm not
giving this fruit to anybody else but you. Neither shall the
sunlight on them nor heat, they're not going to be burned. For the
lamb which is in the midst of the throng shall feed them, and
shall lead them unto living fountains of waters, and God shall wipe
away all tears from their eyes." Brethren, this is what I'm trying
to tell you. You know, this is what Christ
is telling us. We have all these promises from
Him because of this work He's accomplished. And having these
promises, brethren, this full provision is made. We got Watchman.
He says, you got a gospel to proclaim. You got a Redeemer,
an intercessor that's going to make it effectual for you. Don't
give Him any rest either. And He says, and I promise you
as it goes forth, I'm not giving this fruit to the enemy anymore.
I'm giving it to my people. I'm going to give it to you and
I'm going to give it to those I'm calling out. And having these
promises and knowing they're so certain in Christ. Because
Christ shall not fail, we shall not fail. If that don't put some urgency under
you, if that don't make you want to declare this Word and send
it far and near, I don't know what will. We can't fail because
Christ shall not fail. Isn't that good news? Amen. Alright, Brother Eric.
