What assurance does God give about the fruit of labor?

Answered in 1 source

God assures His people that they will not labor in vain, as He will no longer give their harvest to their enemies.

In Isaiah 62:8-9, God swears that He will not permit the enemies to consume the fruits of the labor of His people. This promise illustrates the new covenant's assurance that the righteousness and holiness of Christ, which believers partake in, cannot be taken away by any external forces. As believers, our labor yields fruit not from our own efforts but through Christ's accomplishments. Thus, we can have confidence that our work toward the Gospel is fruitful, as He empowers and guarantees it through His covenant promises.
