Here we have before us the trial
of Abraham's faith. The scripture says, And it came
to pass that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham. And he said, Behold, here am
I. And he said, Take now thy son,
thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest. and get thee to the land
of Moriah, and offer him up there for a burnt offering upon one
of the mountains which I will tell thee of." This trial that
Abraham was to offer his only son, Isaac, as a burnt offering, this was after The fact that
God had promised that in Isaac should thy seed be culled. Look at that in verse 12 of chapter
21. It says, chapter 21, verse 12, here it
is. And God said unto Abraham, let
it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, And because
of the bondwoman, in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken
unto her voice, for in Isaac shall thy seed be called." The
seed. The seed was the promise of God
that moved Abraham to do what he had done, to take his only
son. Now this text here in chapter
21 tells us that Abraham was told of God to take his other
son, his eldest son, who was Ishmael, born of the bondwoman. He was to take her and let her
loose in the wilderness. Her and that son, the bondwoman's
son, should go out from among Abraham and his people. Now,
this grieved Abraham. That was his son. That was his
son. But God gave him this promise
to give him comfort that in Isaac, in the son of the free woman,
in that son alone should thy seed be called. Now, the seed. What is it about this seed? This
seed was the reason that Abraham wandered about in the wilderness
with his eyes set toward this promise. He said, I will make
of thee a great nation. God also said that in thy seed
shall all the nations of the earth be blessed. This seed was not one of many
seeds. Abraham had Isaac, and Isaac
had Esau and Jacob. And you think of the multitudes
of millions of people that that generation, that seed of Abraham
had brought. There are many nations today
because of the seed of Abraham that all came from this one man. But this seed of promise that
moved Abraham to do such a thing was not seeds as in many, but
one. But one. Not the physical descendants
of Israel, but an individual descendant that should come from
his family line and not another. The seed of Abraham looked for. The seed of Abraham that he left
all things for was not Isaac, but it was That in Isaac this
seed should be called. The seed is Jesus Christ, friends. It's very simple. It's plain. He is the one that Abraham looked
forward to. He's the one that Abraham left
all his family for. This promise of the seed. Look at this in Galatians chapter
3. Galatians chapter 3 and verse
16, it says, Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, and to seeds as
of many, but as of one, and to thy seed which is Christ. So every time you read concerning
Abraham and the seed, remember that this is speaking of Jesus
Christ. He is saying God's promise to
Abraham is that in Isaac shall the Christ come by the seed of
Isaac. It's a very specific promise. He says, Let Ishmael go. Because
my promise is in Isaac. My promise is that in his generation,
in his line, in his family seed, shall the Christ be called. This
was a promise that was passed down even from the beginning.
What was it that was promised to Eve? What was promised to
our parents in the beginning? It says the seed of the woman
shall crush the head. of the serpent, and he shall
bruise his heel." This is the same promise that was given to
Abraham, that the seed should come from his line. This was
a promise of God. And so then, all that Abraham
lived for, all that Abraham longed for, was the promise of the coming
of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Scriptures conclude this,
that the faith of Abraham was in the seed, was in the promise
of Jesus Christ's coming. Therefore, Abraham believed God
and it was accounted to him for righteousness. What did he believe
God for? He believed God for the coming seed, the Savior,
the Savior. He believed God for the Savior.
Now Isaac was the son of promise because he was the son of the
free woman and was born by a miraculous birth. Isaac was not born naturally
like everybody else. Abraham and Sarah were very old
and were past the time of childbearing and yet God promised to give
him a son. And He did give him a son by
a miraculous birth. The son born of the bondwoman
was not miraculous. It was not miraculous that she
had a child. She was young. She was not barren. Sarah was old. And Sarah was
barren. Therefore, Isaac was by a miraculous
birth. His birth was by promise. God
said, I'm going to give you a son. And in that Son, in Isaac, I'll
bring Christ. I'll bring Christ by this Son.
God gave that promise that in Isaac should Christ come. And
Abraham believed this promise. He trusted this promise of God. He trusted this promise so much
that he cast out his eldest son. And he trusted God so much that,
as we're going to see here, he was willing to even offer up
his only loved son, Isaac. He trusted the promise
of God, so much so that he would take this son that was promised,
and the son in whom God promised the Christ, And he would take
this son up to a mountain that God told him, and he was willing
to kill his own son. He believed God's promise so
much that he would stretch out his hand and cut his son open
like an animal because he believed God was able to raise him from
the dead. Why? Because in Isaac was the
promise. In Isaac was the promise. He may not know how God would
have done it, but he knows this, that God would have raised up
Isaac somehow. That he would have a seed, and
that seed would be Christ. He had a promise. Jesus tells us that Abraham rejoiced
to see his day and saw it. And I believe it was here he
saw it. This was the day that Abraham
rejoiced to see the day of the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ
and saw it by faith and was glad. But his faith, the faith of Abraham,
as well as the faith of every believer in Christ, must be tried. It must be tried, tested. Abraham's faith was tried by
this commandment of God, offer this same son of promise as a
burnt offering. Now, what is a burnt offering?
A burnt offering is where you simply consume the whole offering
in fire. Not only was he going to kill
his son with a knife, not only was he going to slit the throat
of his own son, But He was also going to set him on fire so as
to consume his whole body to ashes. That's what a burnt offering
was. He did this because God commanded
him. This was not only a great trial of Abraham's faith in the
promise of God, But it was also given to us as a great testimony
of true faithfulness toward God. In other words, do you by reading
this see any room that Abraham leaves to question God's worth? The faithfulness of God's promise
He believed God so fully that he would offer up his own son,
knowing that God had promised that in Isaac shall I... Now,
he didn't do this flippantly. He didn't just do this on the
whim or spur of the moment and say, well, I'm just going to
offer my son and just, you know, God will raise... I'm just going
to believe God He'll raise him from the dead. No, he had a word
of God first of all. We don't believe anything unless
we have a word from God. Abraham had a word from God,
and therefore he believed the word of God so much that he would
offer his son. He believed that God's promise
was faithful, that God was true, that God is not a man that he
should lie or that he should repent. In this trial of faith, God was
very specific. God was very specific concerning
this. He said, take now thy son. Now,
if he stopped there, what could Abraham do? Abraham would say,
well, he needs Ishmael, so I've got to go back and get Ishmael.
He said, no. Take thou thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest. He made sure it was very specific
as to who was going to be the sacrifice. That Isaac was the one that God
chose to be the sacrifice. The one in whom God would raise
up the Christ, this Isaac, that was the only son of Abraham.
Isaac, the one Abraham loved above all else, The only promised
seed of the Messiah, God says, I want you to go and kill him
and offer his body as a burnt offering to me. Now, does this
commandment of God seem to go against the promise of God? Yes. Doesn't it seem that way to you?
At first, this seems like it contradicts it, doesn't it? But
in no way does it contradict it. Abraham did not doubt God
at all. His commandment may seem to go
against the promise. How can Isaac produce a seed
if he's dead? How can he do that? Yet the response
of Abraham was one, not of question, but of faith. Look at Abraham's
response to this. Verse 3. And Abraham rose up early in
the morning. He received that commandment
that night and rose up early in the morning and he put that
saddle on that donkey and took two of his young men and Isaac,
he split the wood, he said, let's go. Abraham had already sacrificed
his son. In his purpose, in his mind,
in his heart, he had already killed his son. His son was dead. Trusting God would raise him
from the dead. He rose up early in the morning,
and he took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son,
and claimed the wood. He split that wood, and he laid
it on his son, and took the fire in his hand and the knife, and
they both went together." Abraham had already offered his son and
his heart. And there was no room for debate.
Isaac was as good as dead. Now, I'm sure of this, that Abraham
and Isaac had worshipped with the four together. I'm sure they've
offered a burnt offering before. Well, how do you know this? Well,
look at verse... Look at the response here of Isaac in verse
7. Isaac spake unto Abraham and
said to his father, My father? He said, Here am I, my son. He
said, Behold, there's the fire, here's the wood, but where's
the lamb? See, Isaac knew what was necessary for a sacrifice. He knew what was necessary to
worship God. Do you know what's necessary to worship God? A sacrifice. sacrifice. Without the shedding of blood,
there is no remission. There is no forgiveness of sins
without a substitute. And Isaac understood he needed
a lamb. Where is the lamb for the burnt
offering? In verse 8, we see the faith
of Abraham in the answer. He says this, My son, God will
provide. God will provide Himself a lamb
for a burnt offering. Abraham could not have done this. He could not have ever offered
his son. unless he had believed the promise
of God. Go over to Hebrews chapter 11
and see Abraham's faith, what Abraham believed concerning this.
In Hebrews 11 verse 17, the Scripture says, By faith,
when he was tried, offered up Isaac. And he that had respect
to the promises offered up his only begotten Son, of whom it
was said that in Isaac shall thy seed be called, according
that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from
whence he also received him in a figure." Abraham's body was
dead. Sarah's body was dead. There
was no hope for them to have a son, and yet he believed God
and he had a son. God gave him this son. God also
promised that in him the Savior would come, and now he tells
him to sacrifice him again to God. And he said, surely God
will raise him from the dead just like He did at His birth.
He'll raise him again from the dead from this. He believed God. He trusted God. Abraham believed
God would raise up Isaac, even from the dead, to fulfill the
promise concerning Christ. He knew that God would provide
himself a lamb. Now, how much he knew, I don't
know. How much he knew as to how God would do this, I don't
think he knew much. All I know is that he knew that
Isaac would come back to him. He knew that Isaac would have
a seed and it would be Christ. That's all he knew. And he knew this, that God would
provide a sacrifice. God would provide a sacrifice
for himself. This word, provide, means three
things. It means to see, it means to provide for, and
it means to be seen. Three things. To see the need, to provide for
the need, and that the need and provision would be seen. Friends,
we know the rest of this history, how that Abraham made an altar,
laid out that wood, bound his son on the altar, and raised
his knife to cut open his son. But a voice from heaven came
in and said, Abraham! How willing do you think he was
to kill his son? The knife was in the air, ready
to strike. That's how willing he was to
kill his son. It was already fixing to happen
until he heard a voice. Now, he didn't expect to hear
a voice. But the voice came and said,
Abraham, Abraham, don't do anything to the lad. And Abraham lifted up and looked
around for the voice and what did he see? Behind him was a
ram caught in the thicket. Oh man, do you suppose he was
happy? Do you suppose he was happy to see that ram behind
him caught in a thicket? You bet he was. He didn't have
to wrestle with that lamb. He didn't have to fight with
that ram. Why? Because the ram was caught! And
all he had to do was come and slit the throat of that ram and
lay his dead body on that altar. Can you imagine if he was happy
to cut the ropes off the feet and arms of his own son? You
bet he was. He was happy God had provided
himself an offering in the stead of Isaac. In the stead of his
son. And the Scripture says he called
the place Jehovah The name of God that He reveals
to us here is that we know our God is a God who sees all things,
provides all things, and then will receive glory for all He's
provided. That's what this name means.
Abraham believed God's promise and knew that God who had promised
was faithful, that Christ would come by Isaac. And he would not contradict himself
by offering Isaac. He did not know how God would
do it, but he did not look for anything,
to anything but the Word of God itself, and in faith, in great
faith, He says to Isaac, God will provide himself a lamb. God will see the need. Now Abraham
and Isaac, Isaac especially had a need, didn't he? Isaac had
a need. It was Isaac who was going to
die. Isaac had a need of a lamb. Abraham in This message shows
us that God sees our need. God sees our need. Now, most old men believe they
have a need, some spiritual or religious need. They know that
they have a need when they're sick. Men know they have need
of healing. And they may even believe God
knows they have a need of healing. They may even believe that God
cares enough to want to heal them. But what men do not believe or
know by nature is that we have a far greater need than the elimination
of physical trouble. We need an offering for sin.
Every one of you this morning, listen to me. If you are to worship
God, you must have an offering. You need an offering. You need
a sacrifice other than what you can provide. God does see and know the needs
of every man But God knows that we all have a need who are born
dead in sins. God sees we have need of life.
God knows we have need of a sacrifice. We are all born children of wrath
and by nature we hate God. By nature we hate God. By nature, we love sin and therefore
can by no means provide for ourselves a sacrifice. If a man commits murder and he's
guilty of murder and he is sentenced to death and he dies, you say, well, that's justice. He didn't do anything special.
Does he deserve to live now that he died? No. No. Being on death row, does that
give him any kudos to get out? I've been on death row for 20
years now. I should be released, right?
I've done some good things while I'm here. Wrote children's books
and I've done this. No. Death is the only thing that
satisfies the law. Men have a need. We have a need of life that only
God can give. We're born in sin. Yet before
there was ever a sin, before there was ever an angel in heaven,
God purposed to fulfill the need of His people. God purposed,
He saw our need from eternity. From eternity. He knew that we
who would be born into this world would be born dead in sin. He saw our need of a sacrifice. Jehovah Jireh, He is the God
that sees. The God that sees our need. You
know what? For many years I did not see
my need. But God always knew my need.
God always knew my need. God chose a people that he would
save from their sins. God, in love for them, foreseeing
their need, would also provide for that need. So God not only
saw our need, this name of God tells us that He saw our need
of a sacrifice. And not only saw our need, He
provided for us a sacrifice. He purposed from all eternity
to provide for us a sacrifice. Friends, I have a need this morning.
I have a need. I have a need of forgiveness
of sin. I have a need to be pardoned
of God. Do you? Have you sinned? Do you have
a need? We have a need to be delivered
like Isaac. Now, even though Isaac was a
chosen vessel of God by which the Savior should come, he was
condemned to death by the Word of God, even so were we. Even
though you, who are a chosen vessel of God, you are the elect
of God, there was a time that you were born into this world
dead in sins. There was a time you lived according
to the course of this world and walked after the counsel of this
world. But yet God, in all that time,
was moving you toward this point of knowing your Need. Knowing your need. There Isaac
and his dad was, they had the fire and the wood, and all of
a sudden Isaac turned around and says, Hey, wait. There's
the fire. Where's the lamb? Where's the
lamb? And Abraham said, Calm down,
son. God will provide Himself a lamb. And so they went together. They laid out that wood, that
altar. Still no lamb. Uh-oh. It's getting closer. Isaac says,
come here, son. He takes his hands, and he binds
them in his feet, and he binds them, and he lays his son on
that wood, and there's still no lamb. Uh-oh. Do you not suppose
he feels his need now? Do you not suppose that he feels
his need as though when his father raises the knife above his throat,
ready to strike? Do you not think he knows his
need? Yes, he knows his need now. I'll tell you what, until a man
is laid out on the wood of his sins with the knife of God's
justice being raised over his soul, it won't be until then
he fully sees his need. Have you seen your need like
that? Oh yeah, I need to be saved. No, have you seen your need?
Are you laid out before the justice of God at the last breath? Will you be ushered into eternal
darkness and hell? Do you see your need? Have you been made to see your
need? Only the lost need to be found.
Are you lost? Only those who are stripped need
to be clothed. Only the dead need to be given
life and only sinners need pardon. Only sinners need a substitute. Do you need a substitute? Do
you need one to lay on the wood of your sins in your place? If you have seen your need of
someone to die in your stead, a need of a lamb to suffer under
the wrath of God in your place, then know this, God saw your
need before you did." I like that. I'm thankful for that. I didn't see my need all of those
years until God laid me out and was ready, as though it seemed
at any moment I was to fall off into hell. I knew my need then,
but praise God, He knew my need before I did. Jehovah-Jireh,
the Lord saw my need. He saw my need. And not only
did He see my need, He also provided my need. He provided for my need. God will provide. The God who
sees our need will also provide for our need. Abraham believed
not only that God saw his sufferings, saw his need of a substitute
to die in the place of his son, but in faith believed God would
provide that substitute. God must provide a substitute. You and I are bound and cannot
provide a substitute for ourselves. God must, if there is going to
be any salvation, if there is going to be any forgiveness of
sin, God must provide. God must provide the sacrifice. And the Scriptures are comforting
to us because it says God will provide Himself a Lamb. Sinners,
we can never die enough to pay for our sins. We can never satisfy
the justice of God for our sins. Therefore, if God is to be satisfied,
if His justice is to be appeased, then God must provide an acceptable
offering, an acceptable sacrifice that He is pleased with. Not
that we're pleased with. We're pleased with about anything.
But God's not pleased with just anything. God's sacrifice must be a perfect
sacrifice. That's why God must provide Himself
a Lamb. You see, the sacrifice was not
just a Lamb, it was THE Lamb. The Lamb that God had purposed
from eternity, had provided for our need of forgiveness of sins, was Himself. God offered himself as a lamb. This was provided for us in Jesus
Christ even before the world began. Go over to 2 Timothy chapter
1. 2 Timothy chapter 1 and verse 9, God who saved us and called us
with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to
His own purpose and grace which was given us in Christ Jesus,
when? Before the world began. But now. but is now made manifest
by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ who hath abolished
death and who hath brought life and immortality to light through
the gospel. Before God told Abraham to offer
his son, he prepared a ram. That ram was born long before
God told him to offer his son. That ram was prepared of God
to be caught in that thicket, even before he brought Isaac
to the mountain. Now imagine this. It just so
happened, by chance, it was the right mountain. Right? I mean,
there were many mountains there, and Abraham just said, Eeny,
meeny, miny, moe. Right? And he said, I'll take
this mountain here. And then it just so happened,
as he was raising his hand, that a voice came to him from heaven.
Wow! What a coincidence! No! It was by design, by purpose. God purposed a sacrifice. God saved us and called us with
a holy calling. according to His purpose and
grace in Christ. When? Before the world began. God purposed to save us. He purposed
that His Son would be the Lamb slain before the foundation of
the world. His Son would be the One. Jesus was from eternity the Lamb
slain before the foundation of the world. Jesus was always the
chosen Lamb of God who would be the substitute for sinners. Jesus was before prepared of
God to take the place of his elect people before the world
began. This has reference to God's great
glory. The glory of God. This is why
God does everything. It's for His own glory. You read
it in Ephesians concerning our election, our predestination,
how we were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the
world, that we should be to the praise of the glory of His grace. Everything is done for God's
glory. And it's done before the world
began. It's purposed before. But how is it known to us? How
is it made known to us that we have a need? Well, it's made
known to us by the appearing of Jesus Christ. The apostle
says, but now is made clear by the appearing of Jesus Christ.
All this stuff was purposed. We didn't know anything about
it. But hey, look, we know about it now because Jesus Christ,
who was the Lamb appointed, has appeared. How is God going to
raise up Isaac from the dead? I don't know! Until He sees the
Lamb. Until He sees the Lamb caught
in the thicket. He didn't know. Now He knows. Now He knows how
God is going to do this. He's going to use a substitute
for His Son, Isaac. Jesus Christ came to be the substitute
for sinners. The Scriptures declare unto us
that Jesus Christ has come into the world as the Lamb of God,
the perfect Lamb of God, the spotless Lamb of God, the perfect
substitute. He has come and is now known
to us who have heard the voice of the Son of God. Scripture
says, the day coming and is now is when men shall hear the voice
of the Son of God, and they that hear shall live. It is the voice
of the Son of God. You who have a need of one to
die in your place, God says, stop working! Stop trying to earn it! Behold,
the ram caught in the thicket! Behold the Lamb of God, Jesus
Christ, who taketh away the sin of the world. Stop working. Stop trying to please God. You won't do it. Believe God's Word. And just as that Lamb, that ram,
was caught in the thicket, was killed and laid upon the wood,
Even so, Jesus Christ bore our sins in His own body. Why do
you suppose that they had the wood to begin with? What does
wood do? What is it for? Well, when you put fire to wood,
it burns it. Right? Our sins are the wood. Our sins. That's why a person,
when he is cast into hell, is consumed by the fire of God's
justice forever because of his sins. Well, Jesus Christ took our sins
and laid Himself upon our own sins to be burned by the wrath
of God in our stead. Scripture says He bore our sins
in His own body on the tree. And the knife of God's justice
did not fall on me, but it did fall on Him. He did die. who was not worthy of death. I should have been killed. But in His great love, He died
in my place. And God consumed all the sins
that I owe to the justice of God were consumed
in Christ. Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord will
provide Himself. Jesus Christ is God's only provision. There is no other provision.
There is no other way that God saves sinners but by His Son. Any other way is to refuse God's
sacrifice and put your own self on the wood of your own sins. This is why the Apostle Paul
says that I desire not to be found in mine own righteousness,
but I desire to be found in the righteousness of Christ. Do you
desire to be found in His righteousness? I do. How do I know? How do I know
that He suffered and He's the provision? The Scripture says
that it's manifest not only by the appearing of Jesus Christ,
but by the light of the Gospel. This is how men are saved. By the preaching of the Gospel. There's nothing more foolish
and such a waste of time as preaching the Gospel to this world. They
don't have any desire to hear it. Now, if you want to be entertained,
they want to be entertained. You can get millions by entertainment. But by simply preaching Jesus
Christ and Him crucified, people have no need. I don't have any
need for that! I do. And so does every other
person who is a sinner who needs pardon from God. This word Jehovah-Jireh not only
means that God saw our need, provided for our need, but also
this word means that the need and the provision will be seen. This has reference to God's glory
and His saving grace. This gives us who believe comfort
that God's offering for sin will be seen and experienced by all
the elect of God. I have no doubt about this, that
everyone for whom Christ died for will come and believe on
Christ. That is a certain fact. That is a certain fact. And I
know this, everyone that truly believes will believe until the
day they die. I know that. Why? Because God's glory is involved
in this. God's glory and His provision
will be seen. I see it. Do you? Not with these
physical eyes. I see it by faith. I see it right
here in the Word of God. I believe God's Word. I trust
God's grace. I trust the provision that God
made as my only hope of salvation. Every sinner that Jesus Christ
died for must and shall see by faith and know by experience
that God is the Savior, the provider of our salvation. I know my need
of salvation only because God first knew it. I experience that
Jesus Christ is God's only provision to be my substitute because God
first made Him to be my wisdom, righteousness, sanctification
and redemption. I know and believe on Jesus Christ
because God made me willing in the day of His power. There was no chance that I wouldn't
see it. Was there any chance that Abraham
wouldn't have saw that ram? Is there any chance that the
Lord's voice would have been just a slick second too late? Oops! Abraham! Abraham! Oh, I already killed my son.
What? No. No chance of that. God's
people will be willing in the day of His power, and they will
know Christ. They will believe on Him. Behold, all things that are purposed
and accomplished of God are for the manifestation of the glory
of God. In closing, I want to take you
to this place. Go ahead and go with me. Here we can see Jehovah
Jireh Again, the word of the Lord came
unto me, saying, Son of man, call Israel to know her abominations,
and say, Thus saith the Lord God unto Jerusalem, Thy birth
and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan. Thy father was an
Amorite, thy mother an Hittite." In other words, you were a bastard
child. You were an illegitimate son. And as for thy nativity,
when you were born, In the day thou wast born, thy navel was
not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee. Thou
wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all. None eyed pity thee to
do any of these things unto thee, to have compassion on thee. But thou wast cast in an open
field unto the loathing of thy person in the day thou wast born." What a sight! A baby, an illegitimate
child cast out into the middle of the wilderness with no help. Everybody that passed by just
hoped for that baby to die. No pity. And when I passed by, and what? Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord that
sees, I saw you polluted in your own blood. Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord provides,
and I said unto thee, live. I have caused thee to multiply
and as the bud of the field, and increased, and waxen great,
and thou art become to excellent ornaments thy breast are fashioned,
and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare. And
when I passed by thee, I looked upon thee, behold, thy time was
a time of love, and I spread my skirt over thee, and I covered
thy nakedness. Yea, I swear unto thee, and entered
into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord thy the Lord God, and
thou becamest mine. I saw thee and I provided for
your needs. I clothed you with righteousness. I gave you life. I gave you peace. I gave you
the ornaments of wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.
And what did we give in return? If you read this passage, you
would see the whoredoms that we have given back in return
for what He's given us. And even after all of the sin
that we've done, go to verse 60. Nevertheless, I will remember
My covenant with thee. Is that not gracious? He didn't say, you will remember
your covenant with me. He said, I will remember my covenant
with thee. I will remember my covenant with
thee. In the days of thy youth, I will
establish unto thee an everlasting covenant. And thou shalt remember
thy ways and be ashamed. Thou shalt receive thy sister,
thine elder, thy younger, and I will give unto thee for daughters,
but not by thy covenant. And I will establish my covenant
with thee, and thou shalt," what? God sees our need, God provides
our need, and God's provision will be known. By who? By us, who He hath made
an everlasting covenant with, even the sure mercies of David.
Do you know God's provision for you? Has God revealed that to
you? All the comfort you can. And whatever comfort you take,
there's plenty more. You can't take enough comfort
from this. You can't take enough peace from this. Because His mercies are new. Even this morning. Even now. Even now. He's already made the provision.
May God help us to worship the Lamb of God. I want to worship Him. I want to see Him. Do you? I want to know His presence. May God bless you and keep you.
Have the man come forward. We'll have the Lord's Supper
in remembrance of His grace to remember our Savior.
