The Lord, I believe, burdened
my heart last weekend and especially Monday
for our children. So tonight, kids, this message
is for you. This message is totally for the
kids, okay? You know how we come here and
our moms and dads, they say, everybody sit still and be quiet
and listen. Well, tonight the adults have
to sit still and they have to be quiet and they just have to
listen. OK, because this is for you. All right. All the adults
that the Lord has given a heart as a little child, they can listen
along and hopefully we'll all enter into this. But this is
for you tonight. So here's what I want you to
do. I want you to listen to me very carefully. Okay? This is not like normal. I want
you to listen to me very carefully. And I want you to really pay
attention. And I'm going to ask you some questions. And I don't
want you to say anything. Okay? Don't say any words. And
don't answer me. But you can do your head like
this. Or you can do your head like this. Okay? All right. If you can read, I want you to
turn with me back over to Mark chapter 10. Let's all turn over
to Mark chapter 10. All right, everybody got it?
Mark chapter 10. Here's what it says. Verse 13
says, And they brought young children to Him that He should
touch them. Now you all are young children,
aren't you? Some of you are not that young,
but you're children, aren't you? Young children. They brought
young children just like you, just like you, to the Lord Jesus
Christ. Little children. And parents,
let's take note of the fact that He received everyone. Everyone that was brought to
Him, He received everyone. But they brought young children
just like you to the Lord Jesus Christ. And look at verse 13
with me. It says, And His disciples rebuked
those that brought them. Those adults, they said, You
don't need to do that. That's what they said. They said,
those little children, they don't need to come to the Lord Jesus
Christ. They said, we don't have time for this. That's too simple. They didn't want them to bring
those young children to the Lord Jesus Christ. Why not? Why not? May we never underestimate
the ability of the Lord Jesus Christ to save a young child. May we not write them off in
our mind. Look at the end of verse 14.
It says, For of such is the kingdom of God. Glory is made up of the
young at heart. Christ makes them young. at heart,
little children. Now, I want everybody to get
your parents to help you turn with me. Let's all go over to
Matthew chapter 21. Matthew chapter 21, does everybody
have it? OK, this is verse 15. It says. And when the chief priest
and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did. And the children
crying in the temple, and that doesn't mean tears were coming
out of their eyes. They were speaking loudly. OK, the children
crying in the temple and saying Hosanna to the son of David. They were sore displeased. All
the little children were crying, Hosanna to the Son of David.
What that means is, we adore you. You know what adore means? It means we love you. And it
means, save us. They were all crying, save us. The little children were crying
that. So let's not underestimate our God's ability to save little
children. Alright, now everybody let's
go back to Mark 10. Back over to Mark chapter 10. Verse 13 says, And when they
brought young children to him that he should touch them, and
his disciples rebuked those that brought them, but when Jesus
saw it. Alright, now everybody listen
to this. His name is Jesus. Okay? And we sing, sometimes
our songs say Jesus. We just sang a song that said,
blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus. Do y'all remember that? We just
sang that. Sometimes we have to say that because that's how
the song is written. And His name is Jesus, but He
told us to call Him the Lord or the Lord Jesus Christ. And
we do that out of love and respect. Isabella, you see Mr. Tony over
here? You see him? Is his name Tony?
It is. Does Daddy want you to call him
Tony or Mr. Tony? Mr. Tony. It's out of love and it's out
of respect. So we don't just call him Jesus. We call him either the Lord or
we call him the Lord Jesus Christ, okay? Well, those little children,
they were trying to come to the Lord Jesus Christ. And those
men said, they don't need to do that. They were religious
scrooges. May that never be us. Never. They said, they don't need to
do that. But when the Lord Jesus Christ
heard those men say that, when they saw it, it says He was very
displeased. Very displeased. And look at
verse 14. He said, Suffer the little children
to come unto me. This is what he said. You let
the little children come unto me. Little children just like
you. I want him to say that about
me. I want to be in the group. He said little children can come
unto me. Alright, now I want to ask you
a question. Is everybody ready? Here's one of our questions.
Why do we need to come to the Lord Jesus Christ? Why do we
need to come to the Lord Jesus Christ? I'm going to show you
why. Are you ready? Let's all have your parents help
you turn to Ephesians chapter 6. Ephesians chapter 6. Everybody got it? Okay, look at verse 1. It says,
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Children, obey your parents in
the Lord, for this is right. Okay, now I have another question
for you. You ready? Have you ever disobeyed your
parents? When you disobey, do you have
to get a spanking for it? We have to get a spanking, don't
we? God's Word says, Children, obey
your parents in the Lord, for this is right. So when we don't
obey, we're not only disobeying our parents. You know who else
we're disobeying? We're disobeying God. Because
God said, children, obey your parents in the Lord. Adults,
we were children once. We were children. That's where
our sin started. We came forth from our mother's
womb speaking lies. Everything that was needed to
eternally condemn us, and forget about the teenage years, and
forget about this morning, everything that was needed to eternally
condemn us took place when we were little children. Everything. It was set in stone as little
children. And kids, I want you to listen to me, okay? Everybody
listening? I'm about to tell you something.
We said we disobeyed our parents, right? And we see that we've
also disobeyed God, right? You have disobeyed God and so
have we. Your parents, we have disobeyed
God too. Everybody in this room has disobeyed
God. Every single person in this room.
Do you know what that means? You know what that means? What
did we say it means when you disobey your parents? What do
you have to get when you disobey your parents? A spanking, right? Well, when we disobey God, it
means we have to get a spanking from God. OK. Now, do you know how big God
is? He's big. You know how big his
spanking is? It lasts forever. It lasts forever. God gets mad at disobedience. He said he is angry with it every
day. That doesn't sound good, does
it? He said he's angry with it every day. Do you know what disobedience
is called? You know what another word for
that is? It's called sin. You ever heard that word? Sin. Disobeying God is called sinning
against God and God has to punish sin. Did you know that? God has to punish sin. He has
to spank for sin. He has to. This is why we need
to come to the Lord Jesus Christ. Alright? This is the reason why.
Our Lord Jesus Christ did something for us. Do you know what He did?
Does anybody know what He did? He took our punishment. You know how you get in trouble
and you have punishment? Well, we disobeyed God, right?
Our Lord took our punishment and he went to the cross and
he took our punishment and he actually died taking that punishment. I'm going to tell you a story
right now, so you'll know what that means. I know you don't
understand what that means, so I'm going to tell you a story,
okay? You ready? A long time ago, there was a
bunch of kids that went to school. You all go to school? There's
a bunch of kids that went to school. And they all brought
a lunch so that they could have something to eat. You bring a
lunch with you sometimes? They all brought their lunch
so they could have something to eat. And one day, there was a really big
kid in the class, and his name was Big Johnny. Really big kid
in the class. And somebody stole his lunch
and ate it. Y'all know what that means? Stole
his lunch and ate his lunch. And he didn't have lunch. And
he told the teacher and the teacher told the whole class that it
is against the rules to steal people's lunch. Don't ever do
it again. Never ever again. Well, the next
day, somebody stole Big Johnny's lunch again. Ate it again. And the teacher said, OK, whoever
stole Big Johnny's lunch has disobeyed, disobeyed the rules. And they're going to have to
get three spankings on their back. That's what the teacher
said, three spankings on their back. And the teacher said, now
who did it? And nobody said anything. Finally, the teacher said, you
tell the truth right now, who did it? And a little bitty tiny boy raised
his hand in the back of the room and he said, I did it. And his
name was Little Jimmy. And he's the one that stole Big
Johnny's lunch. And the teacher said, okay, little
Jimmy, you have to get three spankings because you disobeyed. You have to get three spankings
on your back. And little Jimmy, she said, come
on up to the front. So little Jimmy came on up to
the front of the room and the teacher said, take your shirt
off. Take your shirt off so you can get your spankings. And when
little Jimmy took his shirt off, he was so skinny. He was so skinny
you could just see all his bones. He hadn't eaten much food. He
didn't have much food. And Big Johnny, when he saw that,
he felt so sorry for him. He had pity on him. He was moved
with compassion. That's what our God said he was
toward us. Moved with compassion. When Big
Johnny saw him, he felt so sorry for him, and he said, Teacher,
don't worry about it. Please don't spank Little Jimmy. And the teacher said, Big Johnny,
I have to. He disobeyed. And the teacher said, All right,
Little Jimmy, you ready? And Big Johnny said, Please,
teacher, please don't do it. Please! And the teacher said,
Big Johnny, he disobeyed. And he has to be punished. He has to get three spankings
across his back. So the teacher said, all right,
Little Jimmy, turn around. And at that moment in time, Big
Johnny stood up. He got up from his desk. And
he walked over to little Jimmy, and he put his big arms around
that little bitty kid. And he hugged that kid real tight,
and he tucked him up in real tight. And he said, OK, teacher,
give him his spankings. And when the teacher gave the
spankings, 1, 2, 3. Big Johnny was the one that got
hit. And little Jimmy stayed safe,
tucked up under Big Johnny. And that is what the Lord Jesus
Christ did for every disobedient sinner that he made come to him. You know that? He said, the little
children can come unto me. And He's told us adults and us
parents that we can come to Him too. And every disobedient, we
all disobeyed, every disobedient sinner that He makes come to
Him, that's what He did for them. That's what He did for them.
Now I want you to see if your parents can help you find Isaiah
53. Isaiah 53, everybody look at
verse 5. It says, but he was wounded. That means he was spanked by
God. That's what it means. The Lord
Jesus Christ was. It says right there, for our
transgressions, That means we're the ones who disobeyed. That's
what it means. It was our fault. We're the ones
who disobeyed God. Not Him. The Lord Jesus Christ
never did disobey God. Not like we did. But it says
right here in verse 5, He was bruised for our iniquities. Do you remember I told you that
disobedience is sin? Everybody remember that? Disobedience
is sin? Well, God's Word says He was
punished because of our sin. He was punished. And it says
in verse 5, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. That
means everything that we're supposed to get when we get in trouble,
everything that we were supposed to get was put on the Lord Jesus
Christ. Every single thing. All the spankings. You remember that we said God
is angry with sin? Does everybody remember that? God is angry with sin? Well,
all the spankings and all of God's anger was put on the Lord
Jesus Christ. And look at verse 5, it says,
with His stripes. That means with His whipping.
Because he got the spankings from God, here's what it says,
we are healed. You know what that means? That
means we don't have to get the spanking. Did everybody hear
that? It means we don't have to get
the spanking. He took our spankings for us. So we won't have to get any. Does that make you happy hearing
that? Does that make you happy? It makes me happy hearing that. This is what we call that. Everybody
listen to this. This is what we call that. It's
called the gospel. You ever heard us talk about
the gospel? Here's the gospel. The Lord Jesus Christ took our
spankings from God for us. And because it was all put on
Him, none of it has to come to me. That's called the gospel. Here's what the gospel means.
Good news. It means it's a happy thing to
tell. It's good news. The Lord Jesus Christ took all
our spankings from God for us. And because of that, God is not
mad anymore at anybody that the Lord Jesus Christ took their
spankings for them. He's not mad anymore. Now, I
want everybody to listen to me on this, okay? We don't have
much more to go. We're almost finished. Everybody
make sure you listen to this. Are you listening? Okay. The Lord Jesus Christ didn't
take everybody's spankings. Not everybody. He didn't take everybody's spankings.
But He took everybody's spankings that God told Him to take their
spankings. He didn't take everybody's. I
want Him to take mine. He didn't take everybody's, He
just took the ones that God told Him to take. And I want Him to take my spankings.
I hope, I hope that the Lord Jesus Christ took my spankings
for me. That's what I hope. So this is
what He said. Everybody that I took their spankings
from God for them. This is how you're going to know
that I took their spankings. First of all, I'm going to cause
them to love me. And we love the Lord Jesus Christ,
don't we? We love the Lord Jesus Christ.
And we love him because he loved us and he took our spankings
for us. And then the other thing he said
is, I'm going to cause them to believe me. And we believe him. Here's what I want you kids to
know tonight, okay? As you go home, this is what
I want you to know. We, your parents, believe the Lord Jesus
Christ. We believe Him. We believe everything
that He has said. Every single word that He has
said. We believe that we really are
as disobedient as He says we are. You know how sometimes we
can think, well, yeah, I did a bad thing, but I'm not as bad
as somebody else. Well, the Lord has said we are
all the worst and we believe him. We believe him. We believe that we really are
as disobedient as he says we are. And we believe that the
Lord Jesus Christ really did take our punishment. That's what
we believe. And maybe one of these days,
as you keep hearing God's Word, and every time you come now,
I want you to really start listening, okay? And I want you to have
a Bible, and I want you to really start listening. And as you hear
the Word of God, maybe He's going to teach you. Maybe one of these
days He's going to teach you, and maybe He's going to cause
you to believe this. Maybe so. So here's what I want
you to do. All right, is everybody ready?
I want you to turn with me. Let your parents help you find
Ecclesiastes chapter 12. Let's go over to Ecclesiastes
chapter 12. Ecclesiastes 12, everybody got
it? Okay, verse 1 says, Remember
now thy creator. You know what that means? It
means remember who made us. Do you know who made us? You
know who made our bodies? The Lord Jesus Christ did. So
verse 1 says, Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth. That means do it while you're
little kids. While you're little kids. How
do we remember somebody? Have you ever remembered somebody?
Do you ever remember them? How do you do that? We think
about Him. We think about Him. And we remember
to love Him. And we remember to thank Him. And that's how we come to the
Lord Jesus Christ. Now, when we first started this,
the Lord said, the little children can come unto Me, didn't He?
The little children can come unto Me. This is how little children
come to the Lord Jesus Christ. They think on Him. They think
on Him. They love Him, and they thank
Him, and they believe Him. We come to Him with our mind,
right? We think about Him. We come to Him with our heart.
We love Him, and we believe Him. All right, so who made us? The
Lord Jesus Christ, right? Who took our spankings from God
for us? The Lord Jesus Christ. Who is
the only person who can save us from our sin, from our disobeying? The Lord Jesus Christ. He's the
only one. So let's think about that. All
right, I want you to think about that. Let's remember Him and
let's love Him and let's thank Him for that, okay? All right,
let's all stand together.
