Alright. Turn back with me to Psalm 113. Psalm 113. This is such an enjoyable
psalm. I've told you so many times and
I'll keep telling you this. Sunday night is a time when we've
been here to worship once today. We're a little more tired when
we come the second time. And I feel like Sunday night
needs to be a time of refreshment and something to enjoy, relax
and enjoy. And I hope every message is that
way, but this is an enjoyable psalm. This is so enjoyable.
Psalm 113. Verse 1 begins by saying, Praise
ye the Lord. So many psalms say that. Every
psalm could start with that. I thought about the fact that
the psalms say a lot of the same things over and over again. and
they're worthy to be said over and over again. That's something
that we should say all the time. Praise ye the Lord. I'm so thankful
that the Lord has given us a heart to want to praise the Lord. That
phrase, it means hallelujah. I think that's the most perfect
word to describe a true heart of praise. Hallelujah. I love that word. When the Lord
sends His Spirit and He allows us to enter into this, enter
into what we're doing, and it's not just formality, we enter into true thanksgiving,
out of the heart the mouth speaketh, and there's no greater word our
Lord could have created than hallelujah. I love that word. Verse 1 says, Praise, O ye servants
of the Lord. We acknowledge that we are His
servants. We are not co-workers for an
airline. They say God is my co-pilot. Which means I'm the pilot. I'm
better than He is. Or if He's the pilot and I'm
the co-pilot, what that means is I can step in anytime He needs
me to. No, we are His servants. We are servants of this royal
King. And I gladly say with David,
well, let's look at it together. Go to Psalm 84. Psalm 84, David
says in verse 9, Behold, O God, our shield, and
look upon the face of Thine Anointed. For a day in Thy courts is better
than a thousand." A thousand what? Anything. A thousand days, a
thousand years, a thousand lifetimes. One day in Thy courts. I have a margin in my Bible that
says, I would choose rather to sit at the threshold. I had rather
be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the
tents of wickedness. Anything that this world has
to offer. For the Lord God is a sun and shield. The Lord will
give grace and glory. No good thing will He withhold
from them that walk uprightly. O Lord of hosts, blessed is the
man that trusteth in Thee." Our text, Psalm 113, verse 1
ends by saying, Praise the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. All
servants of His, praise His name. Verse 2 says, Blessed be the
name of the Lord. From this time forth and forevermore. Blessed be the name of the Lord.
What is His name? What is His name? What should
we and what has He allowed us to call Him? Blessed be His name. In Matthew
1.21, He said, Call His name Jesus, Savior, for He'll save
His people. Blessed be the Savior. In Matthew
1.23, He said, Call His name Emmanuel, because God is with
us. In Isaiah 9, He said, His name
shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father. the Prince of Peace. But here's
what I want to do. I just want us to look at a few
more in the Word. I just want us to turn to a few
more and see what the Lord has allowed us to call Him. First,
let's look at this. Turn to Judges 13. Judges is
after the book of Joshua. I believe it's right before Ruth.
Judges 13. Verse 17 says, And Manoah said
unto the angel of the Lord, What is thy name, that when thy sayings
come to pass, we may do thee honor? And the angel of the Lord
said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it
is secret?" It's a secret. It's a secret. It is a privilege
to know the name of the Lord. The Lord must reveal to a person
who He is, and until He does, it's a secret. It's a total secret. What is His name? Let's turn
to Exodus 3. Exodus 3 and look at verse 13. And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the
children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your
fathers has sent me unto you. And they shall say to me, What
is his name? What shall I say unto them? And
God said unto Moses, I am that I am. And He said, Thus shalt
thou say unto the children of Israel, I am has sent me unto
you. When the Lord reveals the secret
of who He is to a person, the first thing He says is, I am. That's my name. I am. I am God Almighty. I am Jehovah. And we say, blessed be the great
I Am. Blessed be His name. Now turn
with me to Jeremiah chapter 3. Jeremiah chapter 3, look at verse
19. But I said, How shall I put thee
among the children, and give thee a pleasant land, a goodly
heritage of the host of nations? And I said, Thou shalt call me
my Father. and shalt not turn away from
Me." That's who He is. That's His
name. Father. He is our Father. If He's revealed who He is to
us, He loves us. That story of Manoah, do you
know that story? Manoah and his wife? We need
to look at that soon. God came to Manoah and his wife,
and as soon as they realized it, Manoah said, we're going
to die, because we've seen God. God's going to kill us. And Manoah's
wife said, no, He's not going to kill us. He would have never
shown us all these things, and revealed to us who He is, if
He was going to kill us. If He's revealed Himself to us,
He loves us. He'll care for us. As a father
pitieth his child. He said, you can call Me, My
Father. That's wonderful. Blessed be
our Father. Now turn to Jeremiah 23. Jeremiah 23. Look at verse 5. Behold, the days come, saith
the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous branch, and
a king shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and
justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved,
And Israel shall dwell safely, and this is his name whereby
he shall be called the Lord our righteousness." The Lord is our righteousness. The Lord is the only thing good
and right that we have to claim to. He's it. Blessed be our righteousness. Now here's a really enjoyable
side note. Turn with me to Jeremiah 33.
I have always loved this. Jeremiah 33, look at verse 15. It says, "...in those days, and
at that time, will I cause the branch of righteousness to grow
up unto David. And he shall execute judgment
and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be
saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely. And this is the name
wherewith she shall be called." The Lord Our Righteousness. She gets the same name He gets. She takes on His name. His bride
takes on His name. He is called The Lord Our Righteousness. She is called The Lord Our Righteousness. I love that. Turn to Hosea. See if you can
find Hosea. It's right after the book of
Daniel, if you can find Daniel. Hosea chapter 1. Verse 2 says, The beginning of
the word of the Lord by Hosea. And the Lord said to Hosea, now
the Lord said this, Go take unto thee a wife of whoredoms, and
children of whoredoms. For the land hath committed great
whoredom, departing from the Lord. Take a wife of whoredoms. Now chapter 1 and chapter 2 talks
about her awful behavior. Wicked, wicked behavior. Unfaithful ways. Now look at
chapter 2, verse 14. This is the Lord speaking. Therefore, behold, I will allure
her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.
And I will give her her vineyards from thence, and a valley of
acor for a door of hope. And she shall sing there as in
the days of her youth, and as in the day when she came up out
of the land of Egypt. And it shall be at that day,
saith the Lord, that thou shalt call me Ishii." And my margin right there says,
my husband. and thou shalt call me no more
Baali." And my margin says, my Lord. He said, you're going to
call me my husband. Blessed be our husband, our provider,
our protector, I heard a message by Brother Henry Mahan on God's
guardian angels. And he said he's given them to
us. And if I had the power, I'd give them to my children too.
And he said, when you're driving down the road, they're sitting
on the hood of your car. He said, when you pull up to your house,
they're on your porch. He'll take care of us. He's our
husband. Turn with me to Mark 15. Mark chapter 15. Look at verse 12. And Pilate answered and said
again unto them, What will ye that I shall do unto him whom
ye call the King of the Jews? This is the King of the Jews. Blessed be the King of the Jews. Go to John 13. John 13, look at verse 13. Our Lord said, Ye call Me Master
and Lord, and you say, Well, for so I am. He's our Master. I cringe when I hear the word
Jesus by itself. He's our Master and He's our
Lord. Blessed be our Master and our
Lord. Now go to Revelation 19. Revelation 19, and look at verse 11. And I saw heaven opened, and
behold, a white horse, and he that sat upon him was called
Faithful and True. He's faithful and he's true. Blessed be the faithful and true
one. He goes on to say, "...and in
righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a
flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns. And he had
a name written that no man knew but he himself. And he was clothed
with a vesture dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word
of God." Blessed be the Word of God. Now let's go back to our text. Psalm 113. It says, Praise ye the Lord. Praise,
O ye servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. From the rising of the sun until
the going down of the same, the Lord's name is to be praised. Verse 4 says, The Lord is high
above all nations. There is no nation, Islam, Iran,
Iraq, North Korea, America, there is
no nation, there are no grasshoppers that can rise up and overthrow
the Lord our God. No nation. Every action of every
nation must have the permission of the Lord our God. I was in Madisonville, Kentucky,
speaking for the church there last summer or spring or sometime. And my brother-in-law went with
me. We were in a hotel and we were sitting there eating breakfast
and they had a TV on in the breakfast area. And he was talking about,
I think, North Korea and how they've formed their armies. And I might be wrong on all this.
I'm not up on politics. They were saying they could develop
a stronger military than America. And you know, this big uproar,
everybody was scared. I told him, aren't you so glad
that doesn't apply to us? That doesn't apply to me. My
God is in the heavens. That doesn't apply to me. Those
grasshoppers mean nothing to me. They can't do anything except
by His permission. The Lord is high above all nations
and His glory above the heavens. He is above and the controller
of every natural occurrence in earth and in the heavens. Everything. Verse 5 says, Who is like unto
the Lord our God? Why do we praise His name? Why
do we come to worship? Because there's nobody like Him.
Nobody. Who is like unto the Lord our
God? Who dwelleth on high? who humbleth
himself to behold the things that are in heaven and in the
earth." The things that seem to be such a big deal to us.
A mountain too high to climb. They're so far beneath him. So
far beneath him. He has to humble himself to even
look upon the things of the earth. Now watch this, verse 5 says,
Who is like unto the Lord our God? What that's saying is, this
is what the Lord our God is like. Now let's look at the next few
verses. He dwells on high. He humbles Himself to behold.
He raiseth up the poor out of the dust. He lifteth the needy
out of the dunghill, that he may set him with princes, even
with the princes of his people." That's our God. He dwells on high. But He humbles
Himself to behold us. And He raises up the poor out
of the dust. And He lifts me out of the dunghill. that He may set Him with princes,
even with princes of His people." That's who He is, and that's
what He's doing. Verse 9 says, "...He maketh the
barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children."
Turn with me to Isaiah 54. Isaiah chapter 54. Now, begin by looking at Isaiah
53 verse 4. Surely He hath borne our griefs. Borne. And carried our sorrows. Verse 11 says, He shall see the
travail of his soul. It ends by saying, for he shall
bear their iniquities. And then chapter 54 begins by
saying, Sing, O barren, thou that did not bear. Break forth into singing, and
cry aloud, Thou that did not travail with child." You couldn't
do it. You were barren. Sing. He did. He bore. He carried. He travailed. So sing, O barren. Our text says in verse 9, He
maketh the barren woman to keep house. and to be a joyful mother
of children." Now I'm going to close with this. Turn over to Psalm 68. I'll close
with this. When I first started coming here
this spring and summer, Tony was telling me about his experience with all of this and the truth
and religion. And I'm not going to say anything
to embarrass you. But you thought you were the only one, didn't
you? Or you thought nobody believed this anyway. Nobody believes
this. Back in August, I had the pleasure
of going to San Diego, California to preach to our Brothers and
sisters, just a precious bunch of people. You will love them.
And I believe you'll meet them in this lifetime. If not, you're
going to enjoy them at the marriage supper of the Lamb. But San Diego
is a huge place. And it kind of intertwines with
Los Angeles. It's only 20 miles from Tijuana,
Mexico. It's huge. Millions and millions
of people. And each of those people there
have their own story. But there is a woman, our sister,
her name is Michelle, and she heard the truth on Sermon
Audio. She was searching the internet.
Something wasn't right. She said she went to about every
church in San Diego, and San Diego's a big place. She said
she went three times. First time, she didn't like it.
Second time, she hated it. Third time, she couldn't stomach
it anymore. And so she said, I used to just ask the Lord and
beg the Lord, would you please send me one person to come to
my house and just listen to sermon audio with me so I can talk about
this to one person? You're talking about feeling
alone. Well, the Lord in His mercy brought her to this group
that's meeting in San Diego. And the Lord is sending men over
once a month to preach the gospel to these people. And she's so
happy. Look at this in Psalm 68. Verse
6 says, God saideth the solitary in families. He'll make families
for us. Martin Luther thought he was
alone. Isaiah thought he was alone. He said, no, I'm going
to make a family for you. Not alone. Our text, Psalm 113
verse 9 says, He maketh the barren woman to keep house and to be
a joyful mother of children. Praise you, the Lord. The Lord's
good. So good. I pray the Lord will
bless it. Stand together with me.
