I want to bring the message this
morning from Matthew 11, verse 27. The title of the message,
All Things Delivered to Christ. He says in verse 27, All things
are delivered unto me of my Father. And no man knoweth the Son, but
the Father. Neither knoweth any man the Father,
save the Son. And he to whomsoever the Son
will reveal him. The Lord Jesus Christ was not
just a man who wanted to do good to people, but he was and is
the Son of God manifested in the flesh with the power and
the authority to save men from sin. He was divinely appointed
by the Father to do this work. The Father ordered all things
in the covenant of grace and placed it in the hands of Christ
to fulfill and gave him all authority to do so. The Father said, I
have laid help upon one that is mighty. It is written in John
5 in verse 20. The Father loveth the Son and
hath delivered all things into his hands. Christ said to his
disciples before he left them at his ascension in Matthew 28,
all power is committed to me in heaven
and in earth. Now because of who he is, he
was able to redeem sinners and bring them back to God and make
them one again with God and this he did by himself. And now, now
he is exalted in the same nature in which he suffered to be both
Lord and Christ right now. There is a man seated in glory
right now at God's right hand the Lord Jesus Christ who rules
and reigns over all everything has been put into the hands of
the Lord Jesus Christ and it's the Son of God as well as the
Son of Man with whom we have to do and every knee is going
to bow and every tongue is going to confess that Jesus Christ
is Lord to the glory of God the Father And if any man dares,
any man, any woman dares to approach God apart from Christ the Mediator,
he's going to find God to be a consuming fire. They're going
to find him to be a loving, merciful God outside of Christ. No one
outside of the ark was saved in the flood except Noah. And
Noah and his family and those animals that were in the ark,
they were the only ones saved. And anyone who comes to God outside
of Christ, apart from Christ, you're going to perish. You're
going to find God to be a consuming fire. That's what you're going
to find. But seeing that the Father dwells in Christ and has
entrusted all His glory and grace in His hands and gives it as
He will, we are to come to Him. We are to come to the Lord Jesus
Christ. and depend on him for all the
blessings that we need for time and eternity. As Pharaoh said
to the Egyptians during that great famine, he said, go to
Joseph. Pharaoh put Joseph over the storehouse. And if anyone wanted to live
during that famine, they had to go to Joseph. If they wanted
to eat, they had to go to Joseph. Even so, God the Father says,
go to Christ, for all the blessings of the storehouse are in His
hands. Go to Him if you need forgiveness,
if you need mercy, if you need cleansing. Go to the Lord Jesus
Christ. Don't go to some priest or some
preacher. Go to Christ. He's the only one
who can give. He's the only one who can save.
He's the only one who has the authority to do so. He alone
has the power and the right to give the blessings from above.
They're all given to Him. And He gives them to whomsoever
He will. They're in His hands. They're
in the hands of the Sovereign Christ. Listen, there is absolutely
no receiving of any blessing from the Father except through
the Son. He said, all things are delivered
unto me of my Father. All persons have been put into
His hands. That's why He's called King of
Kings and Lord of Lords. He's King of the Kings. He's
Lord of the Lords. The scripture says, the heart
of the king is in the hand of the Lord like the rivers of water.
He turns it whithersoever he will. He said in another place,
John 17 2, all power over all flesh is given to me that I may
give eternal life to as many as thou hast given me. Scripture
says in Isaiah 9 6, the government shall be upon his shoulders.
The government of all things is upon the shoulders of the
Lord Jesus Christ. And he does as he will among
the armies of heaven and in the heavens of the earth and none
can stay in his hand or say unto him, What doest thou? He's Lord. He's Lord and he's Lord over
all. He's Lord over all his enemies.
He said to Pilate, You could have no power over me at all. Pilate said to him, Don't you
know, don't you realize that I have the power to set you free
or I have the power to kill you? And the Lord straightened him
out. He said, Pilate, you have no power at all over me except
to be given thee from above. He is able to rule his enemies
with a rod of iron and frustrate their purposes, and make them
serve his purpose, even though it's against their wills. Pilate
did not want to kill him. He tried to release him. Pilate
tried to release him, but he couldn't do it. He had to go
ahead and deliver him over unto death, because it was the Lord's
will, not Pilate's will, that was being done. He can make,
Christ can make them the means of promoting his own glory. Like
Joseph said to his brothers, you meant it for evil. What you
did to me, Joseph's brothers, they sold him out. And he said,
what you did to me was evil, pure evil. But God meant it for
good. God overruled it. God meant it
for good. for saving much people. He meant
it for the salvation of his people. Israel was brought into the land,
and during that famine, Joseph was put over the storehouse.
And guess what? Israel was fed very well. Men are his servants, in whatever
state they might be, and all serve Christ, whether they like
it or not. The wrath of man shall praise thee, it says, and the
rest thou shalt restrain. Stop! God will let a man's wrath
go so far in fulfilling his purpose, then he'll put a stop to it. Sooner or later, though, he'll
bring his enemies into judgment, and they'll have to face him
whom they despise, because he's the judge of the earth. But he's
also Lord of his own people. By nature, they were all enemies
They were all children of wrath even as others. That's what it
says in Ephesians 2. By nature they were all children of wrath
even as others. They were all enemies in their
minds by wicked works. We're all born with the same
wretched nature. But He knoweth them that are
His. He knoweth them that were given to Him. A multitude of
sinners given to Him by the Father to redeem before the world was.
And He knows where to find them. He knows where they are. He knows
where blind Bartimaeus is sitting and begging. He knows where the
woman at the well is and he knows what time she'll be there. He
knows that Nathanael is sitting under the tree even before he
was called. He knows where all his sheep
are. His all-seeing eye watches over them at all times from the
time they're born throughout their whole life. He watches
over them. He knows his sheep He said in one place, I have
laid, I have helped thee, I have helped thee, though thou hast
not known me. How many times has God helped
me, even before I knew him. And many others can say that
too, who believe God. He knows when to call them. When
Saul would have wasted the church, he despised the church, he hated
the gospel, he hated, no one hated Jesus Christ more than
Apostle Paul. But the Lord stopped him. called
him by his grace. He's able to make his people
willing in the day of his power. Not my free will. God doesn't
save men by free will. Men are saved by God's will.
Of his own will beget he us with the word of truth. That's what
it says in James 1 18. And he keeps them. And whoever
touches them touches the apple of his eye. He guides and guards
and feeds and strengthens them. He keeps them night and day and
he'll not let them go. And no man can pluck them out
of his hand. He gives them a new heart. He takes away that stony
heart that they were born with. He gives them a new nature, not
just a new principle, that's not so. He gives them a new nature. And then He gives all blessings
that they need to them. He says this in Isaiah 55, whoever
one that thirsteth. Are you thirsty? Come to the
waters. Come to the waters. If you're
not thirsty, I'm not talking to you. But if you're thirsty,
now listen, come ye to the waters, and ye that have no money, spiritually
bankrupt, come ye buy and eat, yea, come buy wine and milk without
money and without price. Incline your ear and come unto
me. Here in your soul shall live. Come unto me, all ye that labor
and heavy laden, and I'll give you rest. He that cometh to me,
he said, I will in no wise cast out. These promised blessings
can only come from his hands. He alone has the authority to
bestow them. Do you need pardon? Come to Christ. He can pardon sinners. He has
the right and the authority to do so. And I know this, every
sinner who's been made to know his sinfulness and what it deserves
cannot be satisfied with just being religious, going to church
on Sunday and every now and then on Wednesday. No, you've got
to have Him. Jacob said, I will not let thee
go till you bless me. You need righteousness? Come
to Him. Oh, come to Him. He's the righteousness of His
people. He's called the Lord our righteousness.
Come to Christ. In Christ His people possess
a righteousness that answers all the demands of God's holy
law and allows them access into God's holy presence and will
allow them to stand when He comes to judge the world. You need
righteousness? Look to Christ. Look to Him. You need strength?
You need forgiveness? You need pardon? You need mercy?
Or come to Him in whose hand all these things have been given.
You need healing? He heals all spiritual diseases,
all spiritual wounds. This is a spiritual warfare we're
in and it's not without its wounds. If you need healing, come to
Him. Spiritual healing. I'm not talking about a broken
leg or a bad eyesight. The scripture says it's better
off be halt and maimed. Be crippled and enter the kingdom
of heaven. Be made whole and go straight to hell. I need spiritual
healing. Spiritual healing is what I need.
You need support under trouble? He says, come to me. Come to
me. He said, He'll never leave you
nor forsake you. He said, when you go through the fire, through
the water, I'll be with you. Come to me. He has the power
and the authority to make all things work together for good
to them who love God, who are called according to His purpose.
Now that's something we can take comfort in. He will never leave
us nor forsake us. Do you need Him? Come to Him.
You need mercy? Come to Him. You need cleansing?
Come to Christ. But don't go somewhere else.
Don't go to a preacher. Don't go to some priest that
men have set up. Don't do that. Come to the Lord
Jesus Christ. And how do I do that? Believe
on Him. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
is the same thing that's coming to him. Don't go to an altar
somewhere that someone has built. Don't go up front of a church. Coming to Christ is the heart.
It's from the heart reaching out to him, looking to him. Don't
you move a hair or a hand, but you come to Christ. I tell you
this, he's never ever turned away a sinner who needed him.
It says in the scripture, all that needed healing, he healed.
Come to him. Look to him, in whose hand all
authority has been given, and all power, and all blessings.
