Thank you. Go back to Joel 2 with me. Joel
1. Joel 1. Look at this. Read a few verses here and there
with me. Joel 1. Verse 1-3, the Word of the Lord
that came to Joel Son of Thule, hear this, ye old men, and give
ear, all ye inhabitants of the land, that this been in your
days, or even in the days of your fathers. Tell ye your children
of it. Let your children tell their
children, and their children and other generations." He goes
on to talk about how things are just eaten up. Just eaten up
and perverted. Verse 8, he says, Lament or mourn
like a virgin girded with sackcloth or a husband of her youth. Verse
13, gird yourselves and lament, you priests, you ministers. Howl,
you ministers. Come, lie all night in sackcloth,
you ministers of my God. Verse 14, sanctify a fast, call
a solemn assembly, gather the elders and inhabitants of the
land into the house of the Lord your God and cry unto the Lord.
Cry unto the Lord. Verse 15, alas, for the day,
the day of the Lord is at hand as a destruction from the Almighty
shall it come. Verse 1 of chapter 2, we read,
blow the trumpet and Zion. the church. Sound an alarm in
my holy mountain. Let all the inhabitants of the
land tremble. The day of the Lord cometh. It's
in thy hand. Verse 16. Go down there. Verse
16 and 17. Verse 15. Blow the trumpet in
Zion. Sanctify fast. Call a solemn
assembly. Gather the people. Sanctify the
congregation. Assemble the elder. Gather the
children and the babies. The newlyweds come out, and the
priests, verse 17, weep before the porch and the altar. Let
them say, Spare thy people, O Lord. Don't give us or make us a reproach. Now, this is a beautiful day,
a beautiful early fall day. It's a peaceful day. I love these
fall days. They're some of my favorites. There's a certain peace about
the fall in it. And I doubt if anybody in here
feels any sense of danger whatsoever, any impending doom about something
terrible going to happen. Anybody? I don't. Well, our Lord said, and this
He's talking about through this whole book, His return. And He said, at a time when you
think not, as in the days of Noah, everything
was just wonderful. Then, suddenly, a time when you
think not, the day of the Lord. The day of the Lord is spoken
of in Scripture concerning three things. The day when the Lord
came the first time. And He did. Suddenly. And He came. Like a fire, full
of soap. The earth trembled. He uttered
His powerful voice, Joel said. And then when the Lord comes
again, He said once more, not the earth only, but the heavens.
I'm going to shake them. But then when the Lord comes
to His people, His elect, His children, He comes to them very
really at a time in their life on earth through the preaching
of the gospel. And he shakes them. It's called
the great and dreadful day of the Lord. It's a great day, but
his first coming was a great day. But it was dreadful to some. It's called the great and terrible
day of our Lord. It was great for some, but it
was terrible for others. The second coming of our Lord
will be a great day for his people, his bride. That's the marriage. The bride will be the greatest
day of our existence when the Lord comes. It's going to be
a terrible day for some. And then that day when he comes
to preach the gospel to every one of his people, it's a great
day. It's the first day of the rest
of their life. True life. Eternal life. But when it happens,
you feel terrible. You feel terrible. You feel something
of the terror of the Lord. He said in chapter 1, blow a
trumpet. Gospel trumpet. Sound it. Gospel
is always likened to a trumpet. trumpet. Sound it. Sound it out. A certain sound. One note. And
sound an alarm, he said. An alarm in my holy mountain,
in Zion, the church. And I'm not preaching right now
to the general public. I'm preaching to the church.
At least this little local church. And he says, sound an alarm,
doesn't he? Sound an alarm. Everyone here
knows what an alarm is. It's something to awaken you
out of sleeping. It's something to, you may be
lethargic or, you know, unworried or whatever. An alarm is something
that alarms you. We say, men, you hear speakers
all the time saying, I don't want to alarm you. Well, I do.
I do. The Lord said, sound the alarm. He said that to Joel over and
over again. And this struck me mightily. And I thought to myself, maybe
I'm not sounding the alarm like I should. That struck me. Maybe I'm not hearing it. Because if it happens, the Lord
said, you'll hear some people crying out. Crying out. Isabella, you know, was gone
to kindergarten. And the first couple of days,
they had her go through fire drills. And I remember that well. You know, even when I started
school, what was the first year? Sixty? Yeah. I think. My first year. I didn't have kindergarten. But
they still had air raid drills. I think I remember the first
time it happened. Scared me to death. Scared me to death. And they
had us little kids in the hallway up against the wall. with our
hands over our heads. Anybody remember those things?
Air raid drills. It scared the daylights out of
me. And I thought about her, and
she was scared too, as we all are when we first hear the alarm.
But the other day I was visiting her school, and we were walking
around, and she said, that's where we go during the fire drills.
She said, it used to scare me, but it doesn't scare me anymore. And that scared me. And I thought,
how long have I been preaching? I'm afraid that perhaps in our
preaching, you see, we believe, here's what we believe. Gabe
and I talked about this. Maybe that's not the word. Providentially. Gabe told me he's preaching from
Isaiah 55, 6 this morning. Seek ye the Lord while he may
be found. Call ye upon him while he's near. Let the wicked forsake his way,
and so on. We were comparing notes, and
I said, well, I'm preaching on whosoever shall call on the name
of the Lord shall be saved. Amazing, isn't it? Why is that? I wonder why that
is. Well, you know, maybe the Lord's coming is near. I mean,
He's actually coming. Maybe He's coming for one of
His own this morning. Here or there or wherever. But, you know,
we preach God's sovereign. God is absolutely sovereign.
Whatever is going to happen, God ordered it before the world
began. Do you believe that? Yes, sir. Nothing happens but
God didn't order it. what he didn't ordain. God's
sovereign in His purpose. He reigns. He rules. Now whoever
is going to be saved, He ordained it. He elected them. And they
will be saved. Thank God. They will be saved. But you know how they're going
to be saved? By calling on the name of the
Lord. Now if somebody doesn't call
on the name of the Lord, They are not going to be saved. I quote Joel 2, 32 all the time. Why does anybody call? Thank
God it's the remnant whom the Lord our God shall call. Thank
God He has a remnant that is going to call on Him. I'm so
thankful. We wouldn't call if He didn't
call us. Thank God, I'm glad. But He says,
if you don't call, you won't be saved. You won't be saved. You won't
be saved. And I thought, I'm afraid, maybe
I haven't emphasized this enough. If you don't personally, every
person in this room, adult and young person, does not personally
cry unto God Almighty to have mercy on your eternal soul, you
will not be saved. He wondered what was wrong with
me the last couple of days. I have to preach this message. And I'm fearful. It's the last
days. The time is short. He said, don't
scare me. Oh, I don't want to scare you
bad. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I want
to scare me. Because whoever is not calling
on the name of the Lord, Old and young alike. It's not
a one-time thing. It's a lifetime thing. Keep calling
on the name. Whoever's not gathering together
is not calling. That's what he said to them.
Sound the alarm. Tell them to get together collectively and
call on the name of the Lord, and he'll send a sacrifice. You send a meat offering, a drink
offering, go get together and cry out for mercy. He'll show
it. He's merciful. He's slow to anger. He's plenteous in redemption.
He'll send it, promise, whoever calls, be saved. And because we don't rightly
know what that means, we can't enter into it fully. Save, what
does it mean to be saved? Because the world has made such
light of that, saved. Got saved. Amen. We'll know someday, won't we,
what that meant. Our Lord talked about woe unto
them that are at ease in Zion. What we're doing here, look at
chapter 1 verse 14. He said, "...call a solemn assembly."
Chapter 2, verse 15. Call a solemn assembly. Solemn assembly. That's serious.
That's what that means. Serious. What we're doing here,
this matter, what I'm doing here is no light matter. This is life
and death. I don't care what the world says,
because God is true and every man is alive. This is what the
Lord said. And this is no place for fun
and games. You know, we say that all the
time. and do all this stuff. I'm not
even going to deal with that. There's not enough time. And
we don't use foolishness or fun and games, but we do use what
the world calls foolishness, preaching. Because this is no
light matter, and let no one, including myself, think that
this is just another sermon, that we can take it or leave
it. He told me, I love that psalm, He that goeth forth weeping bearing
precious seed, right here. That's something to do with a
burden. He said they'll doubtless come
again rejoicing, bringing the sheaves with them. Think about
that verse all the time. But let no one think we can take
this or leave it or put it off. Well, I'll get a little older
tomorrow after I get this done, that done. Whoever does that doesn't know
God. Whoever says that doesn't know God. There's no fear of
God. And we don't know what tomorrow may bring. All the prophets were
constantly warning the people. They were constantly warning
the people. He told Ezekiel, and this struck me again. He
said, if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way,
that wicked man will die in his iniquity, but his blood will
I require at your hand. Now, turn with me to Isaiah.
Everyone, old and young, you have a Bible, turn with me. Isaiah
chapter 1. This is to everybody. He told
us, every one of you, down to the infant. Look at it. Isaiah
1. Lest we think the wicked The
Lord talks about the wicked and the righteous. Well, we think
the wicked, and it goes without saying that murderers and robbers
and rapists and violent people are wicked people, doesn't it?
That goes without saying. So I want you to notice something
with me. Isaiah 1, look at who the Lord
calls corrupt. Verse 2, "'Hear, O heavens, and
give ear, O earth, for the Lord has spoken. I have nourished
and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.
The dumb ox knows his owner, and the ass his master's crib,
but Israel doth not know." My people don't even think about
it. Don't even give it a thought. Don't consider. What? Who? God. Sinful nation, verse
4, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children
that are corruptors. They've forsaken the Lord, provoked
the Holy One. What did they do? It doesn't
say what they did. It says what they didn't do.
What they didn't do. In Psalm 14, where the Lord says
He looked down from heaven upon the children of men to see if
there were any that did understand, if there were any that did Seek
after God. He said there's none. We all know that people that
just commit awful crimes are wicked. We know that. We all know that the religious,
our Lord called the religious in Matthew 7, Workers of iniquity,
isn't it? Those that talked about their
wonderful works in Jesus' name. We know they're workers of iniquity.
Our Lord said that. But who our Lord is talking about
here is those that just don't even think about Him. Those that
He said in Romans 1 are not thankful. Those that don't call on the
name of the Lord. Those whom the Lord feeds and clothes and
houses and does everything for and gives them this and gives
them that, and they rarely give Him a thought. They don't worship
Him personally. Thank you, Lord. Everybody does
it for Him. Did you know that all the Lord
requires of us, basically, is to thank Him? He said, render
the calves of your lips, sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving. Is
that a reasonable service? Kind of like the Lord did give
the parable of the prodigal son. He said to his dad, give me what's
coming to me. Why does he think he's got something
coming to him? What makes him think he has any rights? He didn't
earn anything that he had, and yet his dad just freely gave
it to him, gave it to him, gave it to him. How could he be so? How could he be so demanding? How could he? But the Father
did. And when he came to himself, what happened to him? When that
young man came to himself, he realized, if my dad gave me what's coming
to me. And Romans 1 says that, but they're
not thankful. So he told Joel. And he told
the prophets and he told the apostles. Paul said this, he
said to the people of Ephesus, he said, I cease not for the
space of three years to warn you day and night with tears.
Warn you. He told Joel and the prophets
and the apostles and the preachers, blow a trumpet, sound the alarm.
Look at chapter 2, verse 12. Look at this. Oh, look at this.
Sound the alarm. Verse 12, he said, Turn unto
me with all your hearts, and with fasting, with weeping,
with mourning, rend your heart, not your garment. We need a broken
heart. Broken heart. Turn unto the Lord your God with
all your hearts, for the Lord is gracious and merciful. Slow
to anger and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil. Turn. Turn. Why will you die,
he said, for Ezekiel to tell everybody. Turn unto the Lord
with all your heart. He said, when you seek me, you'll
find me when you search for me with all your heart. And he says in verse 14, who
knows? Who knows? Who knows? See, preachers
have these little Pinhead fellows have stood up for so long and
told everybody, you do this, this is what God is going to
do. I promise you. Guaranteed. Hold on now. Joel says, who knows? Who knows? He does. He does. When I was preparing this message,
I thought, well, I'm just going to be honest with you. I wrote
down several names. of folks that I don't believe
knows the Lord. And I'm always concerned about
them. And I thought, Lord, it would
be wonderful if we could deal with them. Who knows? I'm sure there's somebody I don't
know about. I guarantee you that. Who knows? Who knows? Might be here, might not. Might
be in Kingsport. Gabe was talking to me about
a young lady down there. Listens intently, but she's never,
never confessed to the Lord. That's how you know. Who knows? I know who does, as we wait on
the Lord. But he told me, you sounded alarmed,
didn't you? And whosoever, it will come to
pass. He did say that. He did promise them. Whosoever
shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. If they
don't call, that means they won't be saved. Go with me to Acts
chapter 2. This is not a how-to message,
but a message just to implore you to call. Young and old alike. This is
not merely to the young or to the old. It's not to the unsaved.
It's to those... If we don't give diligence...
Tammy, I believe you're a believer. I really do. I have great confidence
that you're a believer. But if you and I don't give diligence
to make our call to an election sure, we're not going to be saved.
If we don't call on the name of the Lord, we're going to be
sinners to the day we die. That's presumption. He said this for
all those years we've heard. There's warnings. The Scriptures
are full of warnings, lest we presume. The oldest woman in
here, if she doesn't call on the name of the Lord, my dear
mother, if she doesn't continue to call on the name of the Lord,
she will not be saved. That's right. The preacher. It doesn't matter who it is.
He said everybody. Didn't he? And this is not so
much a how-to, but just a, we'd better call it. So much more
as we see the day approaching. 720 years after Joel made this
prophecy, the Lord came. Like a devouring fire, he uttered
his voice from Jerusalem, shook the heavens and the earth. He
did His great work of redemption on Calvary's tree. He bound the
strong man. He crushed the serpent's head.
He put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. He died and He was
buried and He rose for the justification of His people. And He went back
to the Holy of Holies and poured His blood out on that mercy seat
for His people. He did that wonderful work. Ten
or twenty years later after that, the Lord, through His Holy Spirit,
through the preaching, And Joel, if you're reading later on, chapter
3, where it talks about the valley of decision, multitudes, multitudes,
and the valley of decision, you read that? This ignorant world
thinks there's going to be some cataclysmic battle over there.
No. It's talking about what we're going to read right now. Multitudes,
multitudes were gathered together. This whole world is a valley
of decision. Though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death, Brother Barnard used to say, preach for
a decision, didn't he? And we know it's not our decision
that decides anything. A man doesn't make his decision
for Jesus. You know better than that. But Barnard used to say,
preach in such a way that there's got to be a verdict in a man
or a woman or a young person's heart. Do I know the Lord or
don't I? He said, a man's got to be either mad, sad, or glad.
Or they haven't heard it. They must be asleep. Must be
dead. He said, preach in such a way.
Martin Luther used to say, I preach as though Jesus Christ died yesterday,
arose today, is coming tomorrow. Because He's just mine. Baxter
used to say, I preach as one who may never preach again, as
a dying man to dying men. I have a last message. I want to make sure that I've
told the whole council that I've done what he told Ezekiel to
do. I'm going to drift on into glory. Didn't Peter say, if the
righteous scarcely be saved? Didn't he? Like I said, this is a pleasant
morning, isn't it? Well, what better time to warn
us? What better time to warn? Our
Lord came ten or twenty years later. Joel prophesied of this
multitudes being gathered. Look at Acts 2. Not every eye. Please, look. I listened to a message by you
the other day, back in 1978. And the title of it was, Whosoever
shall call on the Lord shall be saved. And he kept asking
this question over and over again. Do you really want to be saved?
Do you really want to be saved? Do you really want to be saved?
You know, what people really want, they go after them. Our
Lord said about that widow who kept calling on that judge. He
said, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith like this
on the earth? Will he find somebody calling on the Lord? Calling and calling until he
answers them. That's what it means to call
on the Lord. Not quit. Ask. Not. Seek. You'll find. Yes, you will. That's
the problem. You really want to be saved.
Acts 2, verse 16, he said, this is that spoken of by the prophet
Joel. See that? This is what's happening
there. And the same thing that happens
in every heart that the Lord deals with. Down in verse 21,
you men of Israel, here's the message. Hear these words, Jesus
of Nazareth, a man approved of God. God doesn't approve of any
human being. It is totally unacceptable in
his sight. That's what he says. That's not
doctrine. That's soul. That's me. That's you. But there was a man
approved of God, approved of God, Jesus of Nazareth. about
miracles and signs. You know him. You heard about
him. Everybody in here has, many times. He, on verse 23, delivered
by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have
taken and with wicked hands and crucified the Lord of glory.
I wasn't there. I wasn't there. Jennifer, when
that happened to the Lord, what do you mean I did it? Jennifer,
I spent about the first 20 years of my life kept careless if Jesus
Christ had been born or not. And then he went to the cross,
I could care less. They never gave him a thought.
I killed him. I killed him. When you ignore
somebody, you're saying, I wish he didn't exist. I killed him. That's a fact. I rejected him. We all did despise him. Despise and reject him. In religion,
Jeanette, didn't it? Proud of yourself, it works,
so on and so forth. You didn't put all your trust
in the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, did you? No, you did
not. You killed him. Didn't you? Righteousness come
by the law, Christ died in vain. And so with every single person
in here. And our sin is against him right now. Well, he went on to say, he was
delivered by the determinate counsel of poor knowledge of
God. God raised him up, verse 24. He raised him up. He died,
yes, and he rose. And now he's seated at the right
hand of the majesty on high. Down in verse 33, at the right
hand of God, exalted, received of the Father the promise of
the Holy Ghost. He's the one that's done this.
He's the one that's done this. He went on down in verse 35 to
say, I'm going to make your foes your footstool. Oh my, God's foes, those that
don't care about Jesus Christ, are going to be under His feet.
We do not yet see all things under His feet, but we will.
And bless God, He's going to make some of those enemies come
fall at His feet. And kiss his feet like Mary Magdalene. And never leave his feet like
Mary Magdalene. And she is right now at his feet.
Thanking him. Thanking him. And then he went
on to say, verse 36, let all the house of Israel, everyone,
young and old, Male and female. No, assuredly, God hath made
that same Jesus whom you crucified, didn't care anything about, don't
give a thought to. He's Lord and He's Christ. And
that's all He said. He never said a thing about God
loving anybody. He never told anybody, God loves
you, Jesus died for you. He did not say that. He didn't
say anything about the mercy of God. He didn't say anything
about the grace of God. No, He did not. Did He? And he said, that one whom you've
not given a thought to, your breath is in his hands.
And he might or he might not spare you. Who can tell? And
he sat down. That's a fact. And what happened? Oh, God's merciful. God's so merciful. Some of them
heard this. They heard it. How shall they
call on Him whom they've not heard believe? How shall they
believe in Him whom they've not heard? How shall they hear without
a preacher? How? They won't. They won't. They heard this. Some of them
heard this. Bless God, some of them heard it. 3,000. Is the
Lord merciful? Abundant in mercy. Verse 37,
they were pricked in their heart. What were they pricked about?
Themselves. Me. Me. Yeah, we're all centered. That's not what they all said
to a man. They all said, I'm the center.
I'm the one. They were pricked in their heart,
every one of them pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter
and the rest of the apostles. And Peter didn't say, now if
you'll come forward and repeat after me. Here, repeat the sinner's
prayer. Or here, let's sing several verses. Here, I'll tell you what to say.
No! They said to him, what shall
we do? What do we do? What do we do? What are they
doing? They're calling. They're calling and don't know
what we're going to do. What are we going to do? What can you do to be saved? What can you do? The jailer, let me give you several
things the Lord says you can do. The preacher, I thought we
couldn't do anything to be saved. Well, I'm going to tell you what
you can do. I'll tell you what a sinner must do. I'm going to
tell you what you must do. If you don't do it, you won't
be saved. You know what I'm saying? The jailer who witnessed and
heard the power of Christ through Paul and Silas preaching and
talking and singing and all that, he heard who Christ was and shook
up jail, made him know something of the power of the one that
Paul was preaching and Silas, and he came running in, sprang
in and was trembling. He fell down at the feet of those
men. He was so afraid at what he was hearing. He fell down
at the feet of those men. They were just old prisoners
before. I didn't call them sirs. Sirs,
what must I do to be saved, you see? I need saving. And here's
what Paul and Silas said. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
and thou shalt be saved. Believe. Believe. How shall they call on him who
does not believe? Believe. You've heard this. Did
he believe? Called, he said. Look at verse
38. Peter said unto these people that were crying out, What shall
we do? He said, Repent! Isn't it? Boy, what an old-fashioned
message. If we don't repent, we'll perish. Didn't the Lord say that? I say
unto you, except you repent. And that's a lifetime thing.
Repent. Repent. What's that name? Ask
the Lord to forgive you. Ask the Lord to forgive you your
sins. Lord, forgive me. David said, Against thee and
thee only have I sinned and done this evil in thy sight. Have
mercy on me, O God, according to thy tender mercies, according
to the multitude of thy lovingkindness, and according to the multitude
of thy tender mercies. Blot out my transgression. Wash
me freely from my iniquity. Against thee. Lord, have mercy
on me. If a person, a young person,
old or whoever, does not ask the Lord personally, Lord, have
mercy on me. They're not going to find mercy. You see how serious this is?
What can you do? He said repent. Look at verse
38. Be baptized. Every one of you. Every one of you. Every single one of you. hadn't
been baptized, then you can't be saved. I didn't say that, did I? He
said, go in all the world and preach the gospel, and he that
believeth and is, what? Baptized. He said, whoever confesses
me before me, I'll confess before the Father. If they don't, I
won't. Blessed are those who are not ashamed in me, he said. Whoever believes me will not
be ashamed. You go to marry a person, that's
why you marry them before everybody else. You say, I'm not ashamed
to take this person as my wife, as my husband. I love them. That's
baptism, the same thing. To bring yourself, you put yourself
to shame. You put yourself to shame to
glorify Him, to honor Him. Be baptized. Every one of you,
confess Christ in believer's baptism. That's what you can
do. If you don't, you won't. You won't be saved. And we do it not to have our
sins remitted, but because we have, verse 38, for the remission
of sin. And you receive the gift of the
Holy Ghost. I like that. The Holy Ghost takes the things
of Christ and shows them to you. The Holy Ghost gives assurance.
The Gospel comes not in word only, but powering the Holy Ghost
and much assurance. The Holy Ghost comes. You might
not even think you're a believer, but you do believe. And you might
think you don't deserve to be saved, but you want to be. And
you call on the Lord. And you might not think you're
one of the elect, but you've got to confess Him, don't you
anyway? You confess Him, and here's what the Lord does through
the preaching of the Gospel. I die salvation. He comes through
the preaching of the Gospel and says, yes, it's you I died for.
You. Gives you assurance. The Holy
Ghost will be given to you. But not if you don't confess
Him. He'll not own you if you don't own Him. That really struck me, Dad, when
I really entered into that. He's not going to own you if
you don't own Him. He won't do it. But I was baptized
in religion years ago. That wasn't the real Christ. You're not ashamed to be baptized. That eunuch said, here's water.
What's hindering me? Nothing. Let's get in. That's what you can do. Be baptized
and infested. Look at verse 20 in Acts chapter
2. He said, It shall come to pass,
whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Whosoever. He quoted that too. Well, and down in verse 39 and
40, and I quit. They said, the promise is unto
you. Who? You. You call and you shall be
saved. Repent. Confess and you shall
be saved. Yes, you will. Keep calling. Keep calling. You shall be saved.
And to your children. To your children. You can't call
for them. You can't call for them. But if they call, they shall
be saved. They shall be saved. That's not
a work, is it? That's great. And the promise is, unto as many
as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words, he
testified and exhorted, say, save yourselves. Save yourselves. Save yourselves from this untoward
generation. Don't die with this generation. Don't die with this generation.
I don't think it's a mere coincidence that we're getting ready to study
the flood all of a sudden. And this is fresh on our minds,
as in the days of Noah, the very last of the last day. And time
is short. And young and old. You know, an old
person is right on the verge of eternity, I'll be calling
louder than ever, you know. Right on the verge of eternity,
I'll be seeking the Lord more strongly than ever. And save
yourselves, he said. What do you mean save yourselves,
Peter? What do you mean? Well, here's how. There's a drowning
man out there. He's drowning. He's going down.
He cannot swim. He cannot make it back. He will not be saved unless somebody
comes and actually lays hold of him and brings him to that
shore. Will he? He will not be saved. He cannot save himself. But what
does he do? Help! He saved himself. He saved himself. somebody hurt him. The Lord saved me, or I'll perish. He saved himself. The Lord goes
after every drowning man that calls. I'm drowning. We drown in a lot of things,
don't we? We need saving from everything. From riches. We need saving from We need saving
from daily depression and despair and sorrow and, you know, everything. No, we need daily saving, temporal
saving, as well as eternal. Call, he said. I'll save you. I'll save you. Whosoever shall
call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved. Call. Call. Okay. Brother John,
you come.
