I never get tired of that song. Okay, turn with me to Matthew
11, Matthew chapter 11. I announced Sunday, I believe
it was, that we were going to look at this, and I said we were
going to look at the heart and yoke of Christ. And someone lit
up, their face lit up, one of the ladies did, and that just
pleased me so. But we're not going to get that
far. I looked at verse twenty eight and and. And couldn't get
past that just kept writing and writing and. So this deserves
at least a two part message. Lord willing Sunday we'll look
at the yoke and heart of Christ from verse twenty nine. And tonight
we'll look at just look at verse twenty eight. So let's read.
Let's read verse twenty-eight. Our Lord is speaking and says,
Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will
give you rest. Come unto me, all ye that labor
and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. What does it mean? to come to
Christ. What does that mean? In John's
gospel, our Lord said this. He said, He that cometh to me
shall never thirst. Remember that? John chapter four,
where he told that woman at the well. And he said, He that cometh to
me shall never thirst. water of this world, he said,
will leave you thirsty. But he that cometh to me shall
never thirst. And in another place in John's
gospel, he said, he that cometh to me shall never hunger. He that cometh to me shall never
hunger, shall never have this insatiable appetite. So what
does it mean to come to Christ? What does that mean? What does
it mean to come to Christ? I believe it means at least two
or three things. The first thing to come to Christ,
we come to him for salvation. That's the first way we come
to Christ, and I believe this is the first thing he's talking
about. Come unto me, all you that labor
and are heavy laden, and I'll give you rest. Rest from some
things. It's to come to Christ for salvation. We come for mercy. We come for forgiveness of sin. This is the way you first come
to Christ. You come for grace. Salvation is by grace. So you
come for him to give you this gift. eternal life. He said,
Come unto me. Turn with me to Psalm 38. Psalm 38. He said, Come unto
me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden. Labor and are heavy
laden. Now, the Lord is not talking about
laboring physically, as in toil at your job. whatever, or the
burdens of labor or heavy laden, the burdens of life that everyone
has. That's not what he's talking
about, laboring and heavy laden. Although, we're going to see
in a moment, that does apply. You see, it's the common lot
of sinners, such as ourselves, men and women. It's a common
lot of sons of Adam to have these trouble. They started back in
the garden. Our Lord said to Adam after he
sang. The Lord said you will have sorrow
now. You'll have thorns. Thistles. All of these things. Sweat. By the sweat of your brow. everything
hard work the Lord said you will work hard to the day you die
until you return to the ground from which you were made the
Lord said that so the Lord is not saying here that he's going
to give us rest from physical toil and labor. It is a common
lot of men and women men. I just told you what the Lord
said and women. The Lord said in the garden to
women the same thing sorrow. Sorrow for those who conceive
there will be sorrow in conception there will be toil and literal
labor in the birth of child and sorrow in child rearing you know
all the troubles and complications that go with that and then in
the rearing of children is heartache and troubles and trials the Lord
said you'll have those until the day you die. And women will
be dependent whether they want to be or not. They will be dependent
on being the weaker vessel. All of this is the result of
the fall and our Lord is not saying that he's going to relieve
us from that labor or that toil. All the sons of Adam labor and
are heavy laden with troubles in this world, believers and
unbelievers, OK? The Lord is first talking about.
Primarily talking about being heavy laden with sin. And guilt. Guilt over that sin. Sin for life. And laboring to
get rid of it. That's what the Lord is talking
about. Nearly everyone in here has heard
this all before. We have I look back at my old
notes and there are something like six or seven messages from
verse twenty eight. Four or five from verses twenty
nine and thirty. And that's just me and another
preacher. Preach from in this book. But
I hope that during and after this message, we will come to
Christ again. All those who lay all who labor
and are heavy laden, heavy laden with sin, with a sense of your
own sinfulness and guilt. Guilt over that sin and past
life and present sinfulness. and laboring to get rid of it
look at Psalm thirty eight and I and how we come to the Lord
Jesus Christ first way we come to him. Is we come with him we
come confessing our sin we come. Confessing to him what we are
we come to him. Confessing what we are what we've
done. What we are repentant and believe
it. We come in faith, repentance
and faith. We come believing that he has
the ability to do something about it. That's why you come to him
and you hope he's willing. He can if he's willing. We come
to him about this sin problem and that's what everybody whom
the Holy Spirit works upon first begins to. Be. This is this is how salvation
begins and it continues. We begin to be burdened about
her so look at David here David didn't write this in the beginning
of his. pilgrimage or life of faith,
but nevertheless, this is what all of God's people feel. Verse 1, just read a little bit
with me. Oh, Lord, rebuke me not in thy
wrath. See, he's convicted of his sin
against God. Neither chasten me in thy hot
displeasure, for thine arrows stick fast in me. That's the
word of God. Your word convicts me. Word scripture
says, it pierces. And thy hand presseth me sore.
God's dealing with somebody. He's going to keep dealing with
them. His hand's upon them. He's not going to take it off.
See, he's laid hold of them. This is what, you know, when
my father used to deal with me, he used to lay hold on me. Boy,
I was, his hand pressed me sore. And this is what God does through
his Word. lays hold and he's not going
to let you go. Read on. David says, there's
no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger, neither is there
any rest. I don't have any rest. My inner
man, because of my sin. That, what he's talking about
is what I am. My sin, not sins, although that's
included, but sins are what you do. Sin is what you are that
makes you do what you do. Sin is what you are. Sin, when
God begins to deal with a person, they realize what they are, and
they also, in light of his word, realize what they are not, what
they ought to be, and they labor to try to be that way. and not be where they are and
try to be what they're not. And read on. My iniquities,
verse four, are gone over my head. In other words, I'm drowning
in my sin. As a heavy burden, see that? Heavy laden. They're too heavy
for me. I can't bear this anymore. Somebody's
got to do something. We don't my wounds think are
corrupt. Wounds being the things that
you have done. The thing that the the results
of your sin. Because of my foolishness he
said all this because of my foolishness. Verse six I'm troubled. I'm all
the day long my loins are filled with the loathsome disease. There
is no soundness. In my flesh, Paul said, dwelleth
no good thing. That's how you come to Christ.
Might as well, because he knows you. He knows us. We don't come to Christ. We come
naked. We come hiding nothing. We come
exposing ourselves to him. We come to be covered. We come
naked, and that's how we come. And, you know, atone for that
past life, sinful life. They try to atone for a sinful
life by straightening up the life. Well, and they try to atone for
their guilt or past life by straightening up their life, attending church
and so forth and reading God's Word and never read it before,
never gave it a thought, didn't care about it, didn't care if
there was the Word of God. So they began to read it and
they began to pray and try to quit this or quit that. And that's
all fine. But there's only one way. There's
only one way to be rid of this heavy burden. Christ said, come
to me. Come unto me. Get rid of this
heavy burden of guilt. sinful life, come unto me. He
said, I will give you rest. The only way to get rest from
this heavy burden is for somebody to lift you. Someone to take
it off of you. Christ has come to me. So we
come to Christ in repentance and faith. Faith. We come to
Christ in faith. That was David repenting, wasn't
it? He's coming to Christ. That's a man coming to Christ
right there. David is confessing his sin to
the Lord. What Lord? The Lord Jesus Christ. David knew Christ. That's who
he's talking to. It's to come to Christ in faith.
Look at verse fifteen. David comes in repentance and
faith. Verse fifteen. In thee, O Lord. Do I hope? See that? It comes to him, hoping that
he will forgive you. Verse 15, that I will hear, O
Lord, my God. Hoping he will hear you and do
something about it. Verse 22, he says, hurry, make
haste to help me, O Lord, my salvation. So that's what it is to come
to Christ, come in repentance. And we come in faith, believing
that He's able if He's willing. We don't come presumptuously.
We don't come flippantly or carelessly. We come hopefully. We come as beggars, asking Him
to have mercy on us. He doesn't have to. But I got
news for you. I got good news for you. Everyone
who does, Everyone who comes in sincerity and not presumptuously,
not carelessly, flippantly, not just wanting a handout, but wanting
mercy is given to everybody. Christ said, come unto me, all
of you. All of you. To come to Christ
is to come from the heart. That's what I'm talking about.
Come from the heart. Old Brother Scott Richardson
said this years ago. He said, come to Christ, but
don't move a muscle. Don't move a muscle. Years ago,
two hundred, three hundred years ago or so, a fellow, some Armenian
preacher started this altar call business. And you know what that is. A
fellow stands up, so-called preacher or soul winner stands up, tells
people to come down front and shake his hand. What he's doing
is getting the glory. What he's doing is he wants everybody
to see some signs that he's the man. We don't come to a man. We don't come to a front, to
a mourner's bench. You know, some of you all have
been through that, haven't you? We don't have an altar call.
We don't have an altar here. Scripture says we do have an
altar, though, doesn't it? Over in Hebrews. It's in heaven. Christ is that altar. We've been
studying the tabernacle of it. Christ is our altar. We come
to him. To come to Christ, it's to come from the heart. From
the heart. It's not a physical thing. It's
the heart going out to him. He's in heaven. He's not down
here. I'm not him. He's in heaven. So how do we
come to him who's in heaven? From the heart. From the heart. It's to call on him. It's to
cry unto him. It's to come where he's found. It is to come where
he's found. You're here tonight, and he said,
where two or three are gathered together in my name, he said,
that's where I am. Well, a person who's really seeking
Christ wants to come to Christ. You need to go where he's promised
to be. Where two or three are gathered in my name, that's where
I'll be. Someone who's really seeking Christ will come where
the church is and where the gospel of Christ is being preached.
And all believing, saying, you know,
everybody in here has come tonight. I hope, I think, I believe all
believers have come here tonight to come to Christ. Haven't you? We've come again. Peter said,
this is the reason Peter said, to whom coming? He was talking
to believers there. He's talking to the church, and
he says, to whom coming? It's a continual thing. We don't
stop. That's why we're here tonight. We're hoping that Christ will
meet with us and we come to Him. How? Why? Why are we coming? Some of you that have been around
for years, believers, why do you come to Christ? Why do you
keep coming to Christ? For the same reason, don't you? Forgiveness of sin. Mercy. Grace. So we keep coming to Christ. It's not like you've come to
Christ one time, you know, make a profession. I've done that,
haven't you? Years ago, you've done that.
Many of you have made a profession and then you just went on your
merry way and thought that was it until Christ revealed yourself
to yourself. To come to Christ is to come
from the heart. To come where he is is to come
for faith is to come in repentance and faith is to come for faith.
We come to Christ for faith. We come to Christ to get understanding. We come to Christ to get wisdom,
guidance, grace, to get all these things that we need. We're helpless.
He said, without me, you can do nothing. So we keep coming
to Christ to give us the things we need. And the things we need
comes from his word, and that's why we gather here to hear his
word preached, hoping that Christ will speak to us through his
word and give us just what we need. We keep coming. We come for faith. You know,
we come in faith, believing, but then we come saying, Lord,
I believe, but help my unbelief. Oh, last Sunday, Lord, I was
so, I was so confident and so full of assurance and I believed
and I had hope that I was but you know I've been out in the
world and I've lost some of that and you come back Lord strengthen
my faith. We come for wisdom. My my wisdom
that comes from above we need it. We come for guidance Lord
lead me guide me direct my steps. We come for grace all that that
means He's the God of it all. And he promised to give. And
you know if we labor to try to produce these things. That work. It doesn't work. It's all a gift. So you keep
coming. You never quit coming. You don't
come. What I'm trying to say is that
we keep coming to Christ. To whom coming? We keep coming
to Christ. We believe. But if we try to do anything
without Him. Peter, let me give you Simon
Peter as an example. Peter believed in Him. He was
a rock solid believer. He was a strong, courageous believer. Was he not? Yes, he was. He spoke out all the time. Why
did he speak out? Because he believed. Let's not
be too hard on Peter, on Simon Peter. He spoke out because he
was a man of conviction. He believed what he believed.
Until finally, he started kind of, you know, having a little
pride, a whole lot of pride. And he spoke out and said, what's
wrong with you, you other fellow? And then he began to boast and
he said, everybody here may leave you, but not me. And the Lord
is going to teach him a lesson. Without him, Peter was nothing.
He was nothing when he found him. And without him, he's nothing. And he'll always be a nothing
without Christ. But Christ took his hand off
of him for just a little while. And Peter reverted right back
to what he was. And the Lord had to bring him
down and he came literally crawling back. What did he do? He came
to Christ. He came to Christ and the Lord
reassured him. So to come to Christ is to come
in repentance and faith. It's to come for faith. wisdom, all these things, is
to come to Christ for help in every situation. Turn with me
to Philippians chapter 4. I said that Christ didn't, wasn't
talking about physical labor and so forth. Yet, yet, he knows
our frame. Philippians chapter 4. He knows
our frame. He knows what toil and labor is. He himself toiled
in labor, did he not? He toiled until he was weary.
He worked until he was exhausted. He was in this world. I'm sure
he did not enjoy the toil and the labor that he had to do. Except it was unto the Lord.
That's how he enjoyed it. But it's physically exhausting.
It's wearisome to the flesh. He himself was wearied in the
flesh. And he knows our prayings. And
so he knows what we're going through and we come to him with
everything we come to our Lord with all of our trouble. All
of our trouble whatever they may be in every or any given
situation look at Philippians four some of you know these verses
and love them well. Philippians four says this verse
six be careful for nothing that means full of care anxious care
anxiety worry, trouble. Don't let anything fill you full
of worry and trouble, but come to Christ. Rather, come to Christ. This is what he goes on to say,
in everything by prayer. What is prayer? It's calling
upon the Lord Jesus Christ to help you in everything. Doesn't
he say that? In everything, in every trouble
you're in, whatever it may be. in everything by prayer and supplication
supplication we the word supply. Is the word that supply. Supplicate me supply I need I
am poor and need I need I need I need I need I need. He knows that you know. Our great need, as I already
said, is mercy and great salvation. But the Lord knows that we're
poor and needy in every area. In everything. We're pitiful. And we need Him. Supply me, Lord. I need, I need, I need. Your
children. We're just like children. You
know that? We are. God's children. and uh... your children for the first however
many years of their life all they do is ask of you gimme gimme
gimme don't they i need i need dad i need mom i need i need
i need i need isn't that right? isn't that right? do you ever
turn them away? will you ever turn them away?
I remember, you know, early part of our marriage and so forth,
struggling. And good old dad and mom helped us out. They never turned us away. How
much more? Your Heavenly Father. We come
to Him in everything. We're just like children, too.
We get into trouble. Children get into trouble, especially
male children. You're in trouble. You know I
hastily told you women we need some boys around here last Sunday.
Then I had a second thought. You know if they turn out like
I did I'm not too sure we need any boys around here. But yes
we do. At any rate children get into
trouble and most of the time it's their own doing. It's their
own fault. how about a. Troubles we get
into whatever trouble our personal troubles financial trouble. And
troubles in our family and our marriage and so forth it's our
fault. You know. You don't need to go to the world's
counselors always. Psychiatrists. All that. I've told you before the leading.
profession that the profession that leaves all others in suicide. You want to go to the. But we don't go to the world's
have not got my foolish the wisdom of this world I tell you why
you want to go to the world's counselors and all that is because
they'll tell you blame somebody else. That's what they'll tell you.
People get married probably don't go because they'll tell you to
blame somebody. Blame on your mother or your
father who left you now. You can't help but. Love yourself they'll tell you
everything it's opposite of what. Let you need to love yourself
you need to forgive yourself. You need to condemn yourself. Would there be any marital problems
if each one of us said I'm wrong I'm sorry it's my fault I'm all
wrong I'm the one that needs changing. Would there be any
marital problems? Huh? You would have a bit of
a problem with Henry if he just fessed up with it. No it's so I'm not I'm not being
silly here at all it's just so each one of us individually would
say and it's the hardest thing for a human being to say is I'm
wrong. I'm sorry and mean. Please forgive me. I'll try to
do better by God's grace. And you know we get into trouble
and it's mostly our fault and just like children who get into
trouble. We can go running back to our kind father. He says come
on. Come on to me. I barely believe
that no matter what kind of trouble I got in, even now, as a grown
man, an older man, that I could go to my parents and tell them. And they didn't endeavor to help
me. Huh? But how much more? Our Heavenly
Father, who loves His children much more. Confess it all. We
come to Him. Scripture says, cast all your
care upon Him. Cast all your care upon Him.
The only way to get rid of this heavy burden. And not try to
atone for it, not try to get rid of it yourself. Cast it on him. He says, I'll
take it. He'll take care of it for you. He says,
I'll give you rest. I'll give you rest. Look at verse
7, Philippians 4. verse six he says with everything
and everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving
now we don't go to him just to give us just when we're in trouble
just when we have made. We need to do more by thanking
them as. They really did. Come with Thanksgiving
but let your request be made known on the guy what request
you let your request what are. We all pretty much have to say
well. We all get in pretty much the
same trouble. Let your request be made. Ask Him to supply you with what
you need, requests, and the peace of God. He said, I'll give you
rest. The peace of God. Who is the
peace of God? Christ is our peace, the peace
of God, which passeth all understanding. You can't describe it until you
just experience it. You shall keep your hearts and
minds through Christ Jesus, our Lord. And as I said, this is
why all believers keep coming. We keep coming daily. We need
to daily come to Christ. daily and lifelong. It's a lifelong
thing to come to Christ. Now, let me close with a few
things. We've come to Christ as we are. I mean, as we are, as simple
as we are. That's why we come to Christ.
We don't try to clean up. This is what people try to do.
They try to clean up their lives and then come. Well, I'll come
to church after I've You know, quit it. We sing that old song
just as I am. Just as I am. Come as we are
in all our sin. When? In fact, years ago, and
then we quit sinning and we... A believer that sins against
the Lord is a worse sinner than an unbeliever. Oh yeah. We stand against mercy. We stand against. Paul and Paul
said, I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly and unbelief.
All right, but what about it when you do it not ignorantly? You obtain mercy when you come
to Christ, you keep coming as you are. But where else are we
going to go? We come to him in all our sin
and worthlessness, we come as worthless sinners. We were nothing
when he found us. We were worthless when he found
us. The only way we're worth anything to him now is, you know,
what he does in us. We come to him as we are. We
come to him to worship him. To come to Christ is to worship
him. That leper, you remember the story of the leper? Chapter
9, we came down from the mountain. He was a leper. He had a great
need. He needed his leprosy Well, what was the first thing he did?
He worshipped Christ. He fell at Christ's feet and
worshipped Him. We come to worship Him. That's
how you come to Christ. Come to worship Him. To come
to Him is to come, keep calling upon Him in prayer. Call upon
Him. Come until, call upon Him until
He answers you. Not the importunate widow. Our Lord is the one that told
that story, that woman that cried under that unjust judge, and
that fellow said he wouldn't do anything about it until she
kept calling, kept asking him, and finally he said, she's weary
in me, I'm going to do something about it. So she quit asking.
And he said, didn't you hear what that unjust judge said?
He said, shall not God avenge his very left? Shall not God
answer his people which cry unto him day and night? We bear long
with you after you went to. Come until we get an answer part
of my is kind of people told him just how you are. They weren't
in trouble like him so he kept calling the Lord after the Lord
gave him what he. Came the night woman remember
her she wouldn't be put off the Lord kept calling her a dog.
First, he ignored her. He didn't answer at all. And
she kept calling. Then he called her a dog. And he said, You're not worth
giving anything to. And she kept calling. She said,
No, that's true, Flo, that's true. I just need some crumbs.
Oh, he gave her what she needed. To come to Christ is to leave
all else to have Him. If anybody really comes to Christ,
they need Him. He is the one they need. And
nothing and no one else will satisfy them but Him. So we leave everybody in this
room who has come to Christ has left the religions of this world. Many have left, literally left
homes and families, families that believe in a different God,
a different Christ, but it doesn't matter. We come to this Christ. This is, I've got to have Christ.
Whether my mama, my daddy, whoever it is, believes or not, I've
got to have this Christ and I'm coming to him. Leave all else to have Him. To
come to Christ is to trust Him. You'll only come to somebody
that you trust. I said, like I said, someone
you believe is able. He's able. Our God is able. What'd
He say about Abraham? He believed that God was able.
That what God had promised, He was able to perform. Well, what does Christ promise
to the laboring and heavy laden? I'll give you rest. I will give
you rest. I'll give you rest. You don't
have to earn it. You don't have to do anything. Just come in. I'll
give you rest. Rest from what? We talked about
freedom from guilt of sin. That woman who was caught in
the act of adultery, she was guilty. Everybody knew it. She knew it. And she was cast
at the feet of the Lord Jesus Christ. And when it was all over, do
you remember what the Lord said to her? First thing he did was
get rid of everybody else. And it was him and her. And he stooped down to her, and
lifted her up to himself, and looked her in the eye and said,
Woman, where are thine accusers? And everybody knew she was guilty,
and everybody accused her and so forth, and Christ got rid
of all of them. All her accusers were gone. And it's just him. He said, where
are thine accusers? Doth no man accuse thee? She
looked around. I don't see anybody. No man for
it. Neither do I. No condemnation. We come to Christ
guilty as charged, and we Hear Him say, not guilty. No condemnation. All
gone. Past is past. With the Lord Jesus
Christ, we come to Him with your guilt, your sin, your past, your
present. You've come, so here it is. Here's what I have done. Here's
what I have been. Here's what I am. Here's what
I am doing. Help me. Would you please remove
this from me? He said, I will. And he casts
it out, blocks it out. How does he do that? How does
he do that? He took it, didn't he? The Lord
laid on him the iniquity of us all. All our sin, all our guilt
was laid on him. And he went to Calvary tree.
And He was me, with all my guilt and all my sin, and God Almighty
punished me in Christ. And now I have no sin. It's gone.
It's put away. That's how. That's how. If you
come to Christ for freedom from that guilt, He's the only one
that can tell us, you have none. He's the only one. No man can
absolve you of your sin. No man can absolve anybody of
their sin. No man can absolve his own sin. All have sinned. Christ hasn't.
He's the only one. He's the judge of all the earth. And He's the only one that can
say, I don't condemn you. No sin. We come to Christ to
receive rest or searching for various things. Everybody's trying
to search for this and for that, search for peace, search for
truth. When you come to Christ, you
come to the truth. You've heard me say so many times
that Jesus Christ is all the religion you need. You don't
need any other religion. You need a person. He's all the
religion you need. All your life, hope, help, strength,
everything, peace, truth, it's all found in Jesus Christ. You come to Christ, you've come
to the end of your search. We come to Christ to free us
from the fear of death. Rest. He said he'd give us his
beloved sleep. All of his people will be given
dying grace. Mark, the perfect man. You have,
haven't you? You've marked several perfect
men, as is those who are in Christ. Those are perfect men and women.
You've watched them die, haven't you? I have. We have. Watched them die. The Lord said
the end of that man is what? Peace. Rest. Freedom from fear
of death. All our lifetime we're subject
to this. I told you about that time I thought I had maybe a
terminal illness, and I was scared to death. I didn't sleep or anything,
and I found out it was terminal. What if I do find out that I
do have it? Well, then if I really have it,
He'll give me grace. He promised it. Rest, freedom
from fear of death. And we come to Christ will rest
from all the worries and troubles and
pursuits and things that this world fills us below. That's why we keep coming. We
come, we're out in this world and we listen to it. That's our
first mistake, is listening to the world. Because they don't
know, they're just guessing. You know, every morning, the
first thing I do is look at the weather. I don't know why I do
that. Because they don't know. Invariably,
Stan, they don't know, do they? There's a proverb that says,
he that regardeth the wind won't sow. Meaning, if a farmer gets
up and the weatherman says, the meteorologist, excuse me, says
it's going to be windy today, high winds, then he won't, well,
he'll have no sense of going to work today. Who controls the wind? How do
they know? That's right. Who knows the wind? Don't predict the wind. All weather
is controlled by the wind, is it not? That's why they can't
predict the wind. Blow it where it's listed. Didn't
the Lord say that? The wind, blow it where it's
listed. foolish idiot preachers saying
come tonight we're going to have a revival, a Holy Spirit revival.
You can't predict where the Holy Spirit's going to be. You fool. And they get paid big bucks too
don't they? Well, Christ said come unto me. Don't come to anybody
else. Don't go anywhere else. Come
to me. I'll give you rest. Well, the
Lord will on Sunday, we'll look at the rest of that, where he
said, take my yoke upon you. It's wonderful. Take my yoke
upon you and learn of me. Drive me and low me in the heart
and you'll find rest for your soul. Okay, come back. Stand with me. Our Heavenly Father, enable us
by Your grace, by Your mercy, by Your Holy Spirit to keep coming
to the Lord Jesus Christ. Come to Him as we are and come
confessing our sin that He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sin and to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. We come to Him. To whom coming?
Lord, keep us coming. Leave us not to ourselves, not
for a moment, but let us keep, as the song says, cleaving to
thyself and still believing. We thank you, Lord, for your
blessed promise. Now give us, we pray, the rest
that you promised. Enable maybe somebody to come
for the first time and rest in Christ. It's in his name we pray
to meet here tonight. Amen. You're dismissed.
