Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, We'll sing the last verse without
the instrument. When he comes, our glorious King,
All his ransom home to bring, Then a new-day song we'll sing,
Alleluia! Hallelujah. Hallelujah. That's the title
of this message. Hallelujah. And you'll notice in our text,
Psalm 146, the first and last words in this And you'll find
this throughout the psalms. Hallelujah. That's what praise
the Lord means. Praise you the Lord. Hallelujah.
Hail to Yah. Hail to Jehovah. Hallelujah. Hallowed be thy name. Worship, exalt, and praise Jehovah. What does that mean? Praise you
the Lord. How many times you'll see that if you read the psalms.
And throughout the word of God hallelujah. Now. A preacher of the gospel is no
cheerleader. And this is not to be a pep rally
of sorts. Much of that goes on in our day
then man gets up and. And he thinks. Acting the fool
or preaching foolishness. Acting like a fool, and they
do. And they try to work people into
an emotional frenzy. Try to work up a feeling of religion
or emotion. Worship is not based on emotion.
It's based on the truth. Worship is not based on emotion,
it's based on the truth. Yet sometimes If you really hear
the truth, if it ever gets a hold of you, it'll set your tongue
free. It'll even set your tongue free.
These old tongues that, like that song we sing, in vain we
tune our formal songs. Hosannas languish on our tongue
and our devotion dies. But every now and then, the truth
will set your tongue free. And an old Baptist might even
say, praise the Lord. Hallelujah. Don't let this blasphemous
generation who use and abuse this word, hallelujah. Don't
let them keep you from using it. Don't you do it now. We have
innumerable reasons to shout hallelujah. innumerable reasons
and before this message is over made for somebody in here we
have permitted. We sure were the ladies they're
not excluded. I remember one time as a young
believer. As a young believer I remember
one time attending a Bible conference in Kentucky. And sitting on the
front row, I remember I was sitting with, well I don't remember who
I was sitting with. I remember who I was hearing
about. But I remember sitting there on that front row and a
man was preaching the gospel, preaching about Christ. He was
preaching Christ. Not about him, he was preaching
Christ. Exalting him, lifting him up. I don't know how old
I was, but I could not contain. I remember
I was on the edge of my seat and I remember saying, well,
praise the Lord out loud. And I shrunk back and thought,
what have I done? I just said, hallelujah. What's
wrong with that? It's a shame. It is a shame that
this generation has stifled our tongue because they You misuse
and abuse these things and use them so hypocritically. We're
ashamed. You know, we don't want to draw
attention ourselves. We don't want to ever appear to be making
a show of religion and guilty of drawing near with our lips
and our heart. But if your heart, sometimes
when your heart is so full, it's got to take vent like a pop off
valve. I know it's so. At other times
it is. We're not hesitant to pop off.
At other times are when our heart gets full, what's wrong with
that? Nothing's wrong, you know, the word hallelujah denotes that
look it up, look it up in the Greek. I didn't write in the
Hebrew. I didn't didn't write it down
for you, but the word itself denotes hilariousness in work. Like David, you remember David
when he was dancing before the art? No, Ed, I'm not getting
charismatic on you, but don't worry. not going to do that. But remember when David was dancing
before the ark. I don't know what how he was
dancing. I don't know what he was doing, but he was so happy
to get that ark back. John, you remember his song? He said, oh, I'm so envious of
the sparrows. I just like to be a sparrow on
top of the house of God and just kind of witnessing what's going
on down there where the ark is. He had been exiled and been away
from that ark for so long. away from the public worship
with the Saints around the things of God and when when they were
bringing it back. He just was and I'm not going
to do it, but he was. Jimmy Swagger would do it when
they. But he was I don't know what he was doing. And there's
nothing in the scriptures that tells us how or but he was dancing
and he was he was rejoicing and. Micah, you remember Terry? Micah, that old idol worshipper, she
was religious though, you know, she was a prude. He said, didn't
the king show himself in front of the maidens today? You sure
showed yourself, didn't you? He said, he got mad at her, Barbara,
didn't he? He said, I'll yet be more vile.
If that's what it means, I will do more of it. That's true worship. Well, whatever Alleluia means,
I want to enter into it. Don't you? A true heartfelt feeling
of worship. Praise you, the Lord, and my,
my, my, my innumerable reasons to say this. Don't we feel it? We ought to say it. Praise you,
the Lord. And he goes on to say, Praise
the Lord, O my soul. And I'm not just exhorting you,
I'm telling me. David said, Pray, you ought to
praise the Lord. And he said, well, I praise you,
the Lord, my soul. Let's exhort ourselves. Praise
you, the Lord, O my soul. I have much reason to praise
the Lord. And I, there's times when I said
that I don't feel like preaching, but there's other times when,
boy, I do. I really do. I enjoy this. I get to, to vent
my heart. And I know there's times when
you'd, you'd feel like it too, if we'd, if we'd let you. And
sometimes, Brother Terry, when I hear another man preach, I
want to stand up right after him. Let me have a shot at it.
Don't you? You ever feel like that? Verse
2, he says, While I live, will I praise the Lord. While I live,
I'm alive. And I thank God for that. Yes,
I thank God for this life. I do. I'm alive this life. I thank God for this life. This
is the state I'm in. Virginia. I'm content. I really am. I'm content. I was content in Kentucky, but
now I'm in Virginia. Whatsoever state I'm in, I know
that's not what that means, but it does apply. I'm content right
here. This is the life. This is the
life. This is my lot. This is my lot
in life. And I said this morning, the
lions had fallen under me. This is the lot God has given
me. He's chosen my inheritance for me. He's given me a lot. It might be Vicki's little white
cabin, or it might be my big tan mansion. It's the lot. The lions have fallen under me
in pleasant places. This is a pleasant place, isn't
it? A trailer in the woods, a cabin
on Hillcrest or wherever it is. This is my lot, and the lions
have fallen unto me in pleasant places. This is a pleasant place
to me. It really is, because God dwells with me. I dwell with God's people. This
is the will of God concerning me. And well, the lions have
fallen unto me in pleasant places. Can you say that? Let's quit
our murmuring and complaining. Children of Israel. Let's just
cut it out. Let's just make a vow together
right now. I know it won't be worth a thing.
You'll break it tomorrow. But right now, Lord, give me
grace never to murmur and complain again. The lines have fallen
on me. Steve Park, how many times, every
time I look at those babes, have you ever seen two more beautiful
children in all of your life? And I'm prejudiced. I'm biased,
but, oh, the lines have fallen and that wife, mm, my, my, my. All of us can say that. Can we
all say that? Every one of us can say that.
This is the life that God has put me in. Let's be contented. Let's rejoice in it. There's
nothing. This is where God's put me. Right? This is the will
of God concerning me. He put me here on earth. He knows
what's best. Rejoice in it, I say. Rejoice.
This is where, and I thought about this too, God gave me life
here on this earth, and this is where I met some folk. I met John Sheasler here. Huh? I've met you, John, here. I'm
so glad that I've lived this long to meet you. Huh? I'm going
to tell an eternity with you. I've met old Charlie there. We
went for a walk. That was a good time the other
day, wasn't it? Walking in the woods together.
I've met Charles Raw and all of you. I'm glad, I'm so glad
that I'm alive. How about you, huh? But most
of all, I met Christ here. Right? Huh? You don't see the
kingdom of God unless you're born of water. We live in this
life, we grew up so and matured so many years and finally met
Christ. It's a good life. It really is. It really is. While I have any
being, he says, I will sing praises and hallelujah unto my God while
I have any being, long as I have breath, clothing, shelter, eyesight,
understanding, love, life, gospel. I'm a blessed man. I'm a blessed
man. A lot of people have been without
some of those things, too, and they still thought they were
blessed. I'm a blessed man. I've been
blessed. How about you? And I'm being blessed as long
as I have been. And he said he'd never, he'd
never forsake me. We'd never be begging bread.
Never be begging bread. Praise the Lord. Praise you,
the Lord. Oh, my soul. Verse three, and
he reminds us now, but don't put any trust in anybody or anything
here. Trust means to put all your hope
and your confidence and your affection, set everything on
these things, these people. Put not your trust, he says,
in princes, rulers. Now, David was a prince. If David
is a writer, he may not be. We don't know if David is a writer
of this psalm, but if he is, David could say this with conviction.
Don't trust, don't put your trust in Prince. I know I am one. I'm a king. Don't do that. They fall. Don't put your trust
in any of the sons of man. Every man at his best state is
altogether vanity. If Adam fell, if Adam fell, what
about his sons and his daughters? So don't put your high hopes.
in man. All the sons of man, Adam, Abraham,
Moses, David, just sinful men. Put your trust in the Son of
God, not the sons of man, in whom there is no salvation here. Put your trust in the Son of
God where there is sure salvation. Verse 4 says, Man, his breath
goeth forth And he'd return it to his earth. And in that very day, his thoughts
perish. He was talking about death, what
we talked about Sunday morning, wasn't it? He said, man, what
he's got to look forward to, what he owns, is dust. That's his sole right
on this earth. He came from the dust and that's
where he belongs. That's his earth. What do we
got? By rights? Dirt. That's what
we're going back to. That's his earth. That's all.
We've got a six-foot hole and somebody else has to pay for
that, won't they? That's his earth. So don't put
your trust in something like a creature like that, a mere
creature. Put your trust in the Creator. Go on, verse 5. Happy is he, happy, blessed, yea, for ever
joyful is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help. Malachi
3, 6 says, I am the Lord, I change not. I am the Lord, I change not,
therefore you sons of Jacob are not concerned." Happy is he that
hath this God, who never changes. Happy is he that hath the God
of Jacob, the God of sovereign mercy, who is merciful to old
Jacob for he is God and never changes. Let's look over at Jeremiah
chapter 9 with me. Isaiah, Jeremiah, chapter 9.
Look over there. This is one of the greatest causes for
joy and rejoicing, happiness. Really, this is our sole cause
for joy and rejoicing. Isaiah 26, 3 says that he will
keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. stayed on God's character, who
he is. The fact that, Terry, he never
changes. He never changes. You know, the older I get, the
more I appreciate stability and dependableness in people, don't
you? The more you want it in your husband, the more you want
it in your wife, the more you appreciate it in people, just
dependable, the same. He's the same. He's not going
to change. Well, we do. We fluctuate. God never changes.
Never changes. Look at Jeremiah 9. Look at verses 23 and 24. Thus saith the Lord, Let not
the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory
in his might. Let not the rich man glory in
his riches. And you remember when the disciples
came back one time from casting out devils, and they came back
so happy, just like these fools today who get a big kick out
of, you know, all the goings on, the trappings of religion
and all that. They take more pleasure in that. The disciples
got caught up in that. And they came back, John, and
said, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us. Yeah, we can
cast out. We got the power. We got the
anointing, Lord. He said, don't rejoice in that.
Remember that? Don't rejoice in that. Rejoice
in this. He said that your names are written
in the Lamb's Book of Life. And this says this here. Let
him that glorieth, or rejoiceth, glory in this, that he understandeth
and knoweth me. That I am the Lord. That you
know me. That's eternal life. That I am
the Lord. which exercise loving kindness,
judgment, and righteousness in the earth. These are the things
I delight in, saith the Lord, and so should you. These things. The sovereign Creator, Ruler,
Provider of all, wise God, who never changes, is my God, and
I know Him, and He knows me. I know Him because He knows me.
And I love him because he first loved me, and I am his child.
I am God's child. Same God who has been unceasingly
kind and merciful and gracious and loving and long-suffering
with a host of people before me. The worst, the uttermost
sinners is my God. That's where I'm putting my trust.
My heavenly Father. He's my Father. And I can cry,
Abba, Abba. I can come to him. He's the God
of Jacob. What's your name? Hey, what's
your name? What's your name? Jacob, you
sons of Jacob, daughters of Jacob, what does that mean? Cheap, no
good, surplanter, usurper, thief, want to steal God's glory? Even steal from my brother? That's
me, that's you. The God of Jacob. That's who
you need to put your trust in. Happy is he. Old Jacob was happy,
wasn't he? After all he did, oh, the life
of Jacob. The only one that compares to
it may be Peter. Jacob and all his sorriness. Every time he turned around,
though, the Lord was being merciful to him all over again. Fear not,
thou worm. I've loved you. I've set my everlasting
love on you, and I'll keep loving you. I know you don't deserve
it, but that's just the way I am. I'm the God who never changes.
Once I change, I never change my mind. Happy is he that hath
the God of Jacob for his help. Huh? I am so happy that my salvation
does not depend on me. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord,
the God of Jacob, the God of Jacob. Here's hallelujah ground. If this doesn't get it out of
you, it can't be gotten. Hebrews 2, look over here. If this won't pry it out of you,
at least in a whisper, you can't be got. Hallelujah 2, I started
saying. Hebrews 2. Hebrews 2, it could be. Name
that as well. Hallelujah 2. Not a more glorious
portion of Scripture in all of the Bible. Hebrews 2, look at
this. Hebrews 2, 10 and 11. It became him. This is just like
my God. It's becoming him. That's what
that means. It's becoming him. This salvation
is becoming such a God that I have. It's just like him. I wish I
could remember that. That passage in the Psalms, it
says, this is not the way with man. This is just not the way
it is with man. But this is the way God is. It
became him for whom are all things and by whom are all things in
bringing many worms to glory. I know it doesn't say that, but
that's what it means. Who has all things, by whom, for whom,
to whom are all things, who is need of nothing, This is just
like God to condescend a worm and bring them up to dwell with
him. Many sons under glory, and to make Christ a worm, to make
the captain of their salvation perfect, a worm, a man, through
sufferings. And both he that sanctified and
they who are sanctified are all one, for which cause he is not
ashamed. to call him, but he's not ashamed
of me. Nobody. Now, I'm ashamed of me. And. And if you're honest, you're
ashamed of yourself, too. Would you get a load of this?
It says he's not ashamed of us. You read that, John, or something
caught my eye over there in In 1 John, you read it there tonight
in 1 John 4. Let me look it up real fast.
You read it tonight. How many times I've read that,
and it just really caught my eye tonight. It says 1 John 4,
"...who loved us." We ought not to have any problem
loving one another. That's what that said. If God
so loved us, herein is love. God commended his love toward
us and then while we were at center now for a good man some
would die and for a righteous man some would die but God commended
his love toward us and while we were at center. Now if God
so loved us Terry I would not have any trouble loving you.
Right? You're just like me. As a matter
of fact I esteem you better than me. I would not have any trouble
loving you. Right? If God can condescend
to love me. Ah boy. Boy, he's not ashamed. Look over at Hebrews 11. That
didn't get it. It might have, but this might. Hebrews 11, look at verse 16. It said there that Christ is
not ashamed to call them brother. Barbara, I call your name all
the time, don't I? Let me look at somebody. Ed,
one of these days, Christ is going to walk arm in arm with
you in glory and say, This is my brother, my brother Ed. My brother Ed. Isn't he wonderful? An old maggot, huh? Of all this, here he is. He's my brother. The Lord, the
Prince of Glory, the High Prince, Crown Prince of Heaven, is not
ashamed to call me brother. Well, look at this. It gets better
if it can. Hebrews 11, look at 16. Now,
God's people desire a better country, that is, a heavenly
place, wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God. God's
not even ashamed of us then. How can that be? How can that be in Christ? It's got to be, it's just got
to be. I'm accepted in the beloved. Not even God's not ashamed to
call me, call himself my God. He ought to be, shouldn't he,
Terry? Is that one of your sons? The devil, is that one of your
sons? A son of yours, God? Look at
him. Look at old David down there.
Look at him. Look at Jacob. Look at John. Look at what Henry,
look at him. Look at that fit he's falling
in. He's foaming at the mouth like a devil. Look at it. Is that one of your sons? Yep,
it is. And don't you call, don't you, don't you offend one of my little
ones. Cut's not mine on it. He's mine. I'm not ashamed of it. Hmm. Happy is he. who has this ever-merciful, unchanging
covenant-keeping God for his help, and whose hope is built
on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. You're safe. You're safe. I'm telling you,
with all the authority I can from God's Word, you're safe.
You trust Christ, and you're safe. You're safe. You're on burnt
ground. You ever heard that story? About
there was a group of pioneers. Traveling in a wagon train going
out west years ago. And. They out in the prairie
of Kansas or somewhere like that, and a big brush fire, you know,
these big fires that just sweep. several miles an hour down through
valleys and just consume everything inside a big big brush fire caught
and they were trying to outrace that brush fire and one old wise
fellows had stopped the wagon. And he went out and he got several
men and they cut a big swath all around a big circle cut it
down and then went out in the middle of that big swath and
set it on fire. Set that on fire and And one
little boy said to his daddy, Daddy, what are they doing? Well,
after they set it on fire and it all burned out, you know,
and then they took the wagons and put them in the middle in
that area. And one of the boys said to his
dad, Daddy, I don't understand. What have we done? What's this
all about? He said, Son, we're standing on burnt ground. The fire can't get to us now.
It can't burn where it's already burned. If you're standing on
the rock, Christ Jesus, the fire of God's wrath won't touch you. He is already, the wrath of God
has poured out on him, on Calvary's tree, all of it. The rod of God,
the scripture says it broke on him. He will swallow up death in victory.
A messianic prophecy here. He will swallow up death in victory. O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory? The Lord God will wipe away your
tears from off all faces, and the rebuke of his people, sin,
shall he take away from off all the earth. The Lord God said
it. And this is one of my favorites.
I quote this so much. It shall be said in that day,
Lo, this is our God. We've waited for him. He'll save
us. This is the Lord. May we have
waited for him. We'll be glad and rejoice in
his salvation. Look at chapter 26, verse 1.
Read on. In that day shall this song be
sung in the land of Judah. We have a strong city. Salvation
will God appoint for walls and bulls. Open ye the gates. that
the righteous nation which keepeth the truth, Christ, may enter
in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect
peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth in
thee." Trust ye in the Lord forever, for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting
strength. Look at verse 12, "...Lord, thou
wilt ordain peace for us, for thou also hast wrought all our
works." in us, it means for us, do that. Oh, how happy is he
that hath this God for his help. I don't see how these fools can
get excited about a God who tries and fails. Can you? We ought
to be more hilarious than they. Psalm 146, back in the text again,
I like this. Psalm 146, verse 6, it says,
The God that made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that
therein is, he keepeth truth forever. He keepeth truth forever. Man,
oh man, I'd like to get a hold of this. He keeps me by his truth,
by his power. We are kept by the power of God.
that first Peter 1, 5, we are kept by the power of God. Now, that is shouting ground
now. I'm telling you, we're kept not
by your own keeping, not by your own faithfulness. You're going
to fall, and though a man falls seven times, yet I know it will
be well with the righteous. We'll look at that in a minute,
what it means to be right. We are kept by his power. What is
his power? Christ, the power of God and
the wisdom of God, kept by Christ, the truth. He keepeth his truth.
He keepeth his covenant and mercy. We looked at that, didn't we,
John? He keepeth his covenant. He's a covenant-keeping God.
He'll never go back on his word. He keeps his covenant forever. He is made with me, with Christ
concerning me, an everlasting covenant, ordered in all things
and sure, known unto God are all his works from the beginning,
all his people from the beginning. Their names are written, they're
sealed in a book forever. He keepeth his covenant forever,
everlasting covenant, ordered in all things and sure. This
is all my salvation. This is it. It's all of it. And he keeps his word. He never
takes it back. He'll never take it back. Forever,
O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Forever. God is true
to his word forever. I already quoted it. He that
cometh unto me, and all the Father gives to him, will come to him. Won't they? Come to Christ. And we like to quote the first
part, don't we, Henry? We don't like to leave that out.
All that the Father giveth Christ shall come to Christ. I like
that. That gives him all the glory. Well, this gives me a
lot of peace, too. And he that cometh to me, I will
in no wise cast out. Now, Armenians, you see, they
aren't the only ones that can use that. He that cometh to me,
I will in no wise cast out. No wise, no matter how simple.
No matter how simple. Can I quote you on that? quote
God on that. I'm just repeating what he said.
A sinner. Did you hear what Jesus
said to me? They're all taken away. Your
sins are pardoned and you're free. They're all taken away. The king said that King gets
what he says that when the king sets down a divine a royal decree
and divine mandate it gets done that. Did you hear what he said
to me in the gospel. You're free. Look at verse seven
he executes judgment for the oppressed beaten down cast down
guilty vile sinners without hope. Without God, without plea, oppressed
by sin, cursed by the law, ruined by the fall, Christ hath redeemed
us once for all. God issues the command. He says
this, Justify! Justify. Who shall lay anything to the
charge of God's elect? Who is he that condemns? It's
God that justifies. He says to an old rotten sinner,
that comes to Christ. Just about clear free of the
whole of everything justified the laws been satisfied. Just
actually that's what that means when he executes judgment that's
what that means John Jesus Christ came down and satisfied God's. Law and satisfied God's justice. That was had a had a claim on
me, and therefore God says about John Jesus, justify, justify. And it says, read on, it says,
he giveth food to the hungry, food to the hungry. He takes
old Mephibosheth out of Lodabar, a place of no bread, and lets
them sit at the king's table. takes an old lame ephebosheth
and brings him down to sit at the king's table. He takes an
old Moabite maiden like Ruth and lets her sit with Boaz right
beside him, sit with Boaz and feast at his table. The day of
famine, we're living in that day of famine, aren't we? The
day of famine, that hearing of God's Word, we're in it. You'd
be hard-pressed, people, to find a message like this. hard press. We're living in a day of famine,
and he takes us in a day of famine of the hearing of God's Word,
and we're feasting on the manna, on heavenly bread. The psalm
says, I'm living on the mountain underneath the eye, praise God.
I'm drinking at the mountain, at the fountain that never shall
run dry, praise God. Oh, yes, I'm drinking from a
bountiful supply. I'm dwelling in Beulah land,
Beulah land, feasting on the manna. He says in Psalm 23 that
he prepares us a table before us in the midst of our enemies,
in the midst of a, y'all are going to go out tomorrow and
you're going to be in the midst, you're going to work a week with
God-haters. You're going to work with God-haters,
but like lots. Come Wednesday, you're going
to eat with angels. You're going to entertain angels.
Come Wednesday. In the midst, he prepares a table
in the midst of your enemy. A table, an oasis in the wilderness. And also this, I thought about
this. In the midst of your greatest
sin, get down and dirty in a sin and bow as you possibly can. I'm not exhorting you to do that.
When we do get down and dirty and vile and as sinful and as
wretched and unworthy as we can possibly feel, the loving Father says, kill
the fatted calf. The prodigals come back. He needs
to hear this gospel real bad. Right in the midst, right in
the midst of our greatest enemy called sin. We come back and
come back to this loving father, and he says, kill that fat cat,
bring the gospel forth one more time. He needs it real bad. He
looks thirsty. Give him a big drink. He doesn't
deserve it. Nobody needs it. Give him a drink. Give him a drink. Serve up the
gospel. Hallelujah. Verse seven, it says,
the Lord looseth the prisoners. He looses the prisoner. We're
held captive by Satan and his will. My, my, my. Captives to sin, self, the world,
till we start sinking down lower and lower, don't we? We get in
such awful messes. So vile, so sinful. Get down, go down in the pit
until we become like David. He says, Under thee will I cry,
O Lord my God. Don't be silent under me. I've
gone down as far as I can go I'm I'm as simple as I can possibly
be Lord don't be silent under me I'm getting like those that
go down in the pit I'm no different than anybody I'm going down in
the pit Lord help me and we hear the cry delivery I'm going down
in the pit. I found a ransom who said that
Christ said I found a ransom look here got receipts to prove
it I've paid for Even I don't let him go down in that pit.
That old girl is mine. She's mine, bought with a price.
And he comes to an old Christ-denying center like old Peter. You know,
Peter was down in that prison. And I'm sure there was a time
when he thought, you know, this is where I belong. You remember when I told you
that Peter bound That was on the Passover when they took him
prisoner. And he was bound to have been
thinking about when he denied the Lord, when the Lord was taken
captive. And he thought, well, I'm just
getting what I deserve. There have been times when things
have happened to us and we thought, well, I can't. This is just exactly
what I deserve, isn't it? And worse and worse. But the
Lord comes to old Peter. Get up, Peter. Wake up. You don't belong here. You're
coming with me. You're coming with me. And he
comes, an old sinner like us, in jail, again captive to sin. It's kind of like an old boy,
you know, a son or a wayward son or somebody who gets thrown
in jail all the time. You mean old Hank's in jail again? That's us, isn't it? He's in
jail again. He's down and dirty again. You'd
think he'd learned his lesson by now. and that and the command
comes from bailing. Bail him out. I've got money. Bail him out. The blood, the
ransom pride. Get him out again. Well, he'll
just go right back, and I'll just come right back and get
him out again. Oh, boy. You don't belong here. You don't belong here. The Lord
opened the eyes of the blind. We used to be blind, didn't we? It didn't used to mean a thing
to us. Not a thing. Christ, he opens the eyes of
the blind. He raiseth up them that are bowed down, old beggars
on the dunghill, raises to walk, sets them among princes. There's
not a person in here who doesn't think that they're the lowest
one in here. Right? We're all kings and priests
of God, but every one of you, if I asked you, About yourself,
you say, well, I am the worst one in here. I mean, everybody
else is saved, but I wonder about me. Wouldn't you? I mean, everybody
in here would say that. Well, he sets us among princes
and we're princes unto God, too. Kings and all of them. We're
no different. We're all the same. Beggars on the dunghill. That's
all we are. He raises them up, quickens us
together with Christ to sit with him in heavenly This is a heavenly
place. I'm telling you, this is a heavenly
place. This is a forte of heaven. It's the closest you're going
to get to heaven on this earth. It really is. Heavenly places. We're right now. You're sitting
in a heavenly place. Yeah, you are. Things of heaven.
Verse 9. Oh, verse 8. The Lord loved with
the righteous. He loved with the righteous.
Who's that? Well, that's Christ. That's Christ
in the righteous one well he said the scripture says we he
is made under us right. He is our right the Lord is our
right to the word is naive in your mind Jehovah Jehovah said
can it. The Lord our right to surely
want to say that a lot plan on saying that you know don't you
have in him so all the seed of Israel be justified I will say
the Lord are right my rights and my rights. What right you
got to be in here, old sinner, when you get to heaven?" Jehovah
said, Kenneth, right on in, right on in. The Lord, your righteousness.
The Lord loveth the righteous, those that are in Christ. 1 John 4, 17. As he is, so are
we in this world. Read on. The Lord preserveth
the strangers. Oh, I already mentioned Ruth,
haven't I? Strangers to the covenant of promise brings them in like
children. He relieved the fatherless. Orphans gives them a fine home
to come to. Widows, thy maker is thy husband. He relieves you, doesn't he?
The fatherless and the widows. Oh boy, the way of the wicked
he's going to turn upside down. Just remember this about this
thing of wickedness, the way of the wicked. Now, we all feel
our sin and our iniquity, but do you remember those people
that came to the Lord and said, Lord, we've prophesied? Not everybody that says, Lord,
Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven. And then the Lord
talked about some people coming and saying, Lord, well, we've
We've prophesied in your name. We've cast out devils. We've
done many wonderful work. We've won souls to Jesus. We
accept Jesus as our personal Savior. We've committed and dedicated
and consecrated and made our decision. And we gave our life
to Jesus. We gave our heart to Jesus. Lord,
Lord, Lord, Lord. You're a worker of iniquity.
Remember when he said that, Terry? I never knew you. You workers
of iniquity. You wicked person, you. That's
who he said it to, a wicked person. And then there were some people
that were considered righteous, and the Lord said, Come in here.
You've done this. You've done that. You're my right.
And they said, When? Well, you don't. Oh, you've loved
the brethren. You've loved my son. You believe
my son. You're righteous. The righteous
and the wicked. There's the wicked. There's the
self-righteous. There's the righteous that are righteous in Christ. That's all there is, people.
There ain't no other righteous name. Huh? Ain't no other. There's either your own or there's
Christ, and you're going to be judged on one of the two. So
those are the wicked now. I'm telling you, I'm telling
you, those are the wicked. And those that live in open sin,
certainly. But God's people are delivered
from that lifelong, a life of open sin. Well, read on. Let's quit. The Lord shall reign
forever, and that may mean what says he turned at them upside
down. Those that are trusting their own righteousness and religion
or whatever, they're going to be turned for a loop. They're
not going to stand. They're just not. Henry, they're
going to be some religious people. Those people came right in the
face of God and fully expected God to just be real pleased with
them, didn't they? And they're going to be thrown for a loop.
What? You mean you're not going to
accept me? Look what all I've done for you. You're a wicked
person. They're going to be thrown for
a look. They're going to be turned upside down. They're not going to understand.
They will. It's too late. The Lord shall reign forever,
even thy God. My God? Yeah, thy God. Sinner. Thy God. Oh, Zion. Whenever you see Zion, that means
the church. And to all generations, he reigned in Abraham's generation,
he reigned in Moses' generation, in David's generation, in Peter's
generation, same Lord, Christos' generation, Augustine's generation,
Calvin's generation, John Calvin's generation, and John Davis' generation. in every generation, the Lord,
this Lord reigneth. Well, we have to say that. Hallelujah. Praise ye the Lord, thy God reigneth. Stand with me. Sing a couple
of verses so that Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah God is
reigning, Hallelujah God is reigning, Hallelujah God is reigning, hallelujah. God is reigning, hallelujah. All right, you're dismissed.
