I'm going to take my subject
from verse 27. And this word, this promise,
yet once more signifying the removing of those things that
are shaken as of things that are made, that those things which
cannot be shaken may remain. Moses, when he stood before the
mountain on the day that God gave the Ten Commandments, gave
them to him, he said he exceedingly feared and quaked. But everyone knows what it means
to be shaken. And that word shaken means brought
to a condition that you are feared. Have you ever had something happen
to you and you just get so shook up you feel like your knees get
weak and you can't hardly get your breath? And you get good
news and it just knocks all the wind out of you and you just
tremble and shake. And that's what he's talking
about here. And earthquakes, earthquakes, They shake buildings,
they shake whole countries, kill lots and lots of people. Tornadoes
come through and shake up everything. But this is, and this scripture
is dealing with what God does about shaking things, removing
things. Taking away everything that can
be shaken. That can be shaken. He can remove
it. And the only thing left standing
is something that cannot be moved. Cannot be moved. And that's what
they're dealing with. Look back up in verse 25. Let
me make a few comments. And see that you refuse not him
that speaketh. Now somebody's talking. And don't
refuse him. Don't refuse him. Oh, there's
folks who refuse to hear you. They don't want to hear what
you got to say. I told somebody the other day, I said, I don't
ever want you to talk to me about that ever again. I don't want
to hear that ever mentioned to me ever again. Don't ever mention
that subject to me ever, ever again. I don't want to hear it.
I ain't going to listen to it. I refuse to hear that. And so,
and if they escape not, who refused him that spake on earth, They
spake on that mountain that the people heard it and our Lord
Jesus Christ who came to this earth and spake on this earth.
See not that you refuse Him that spake on earth. And they didn't
escape. If we turn away from Him that
speaketh from heaven. What's going to happen to us?
Whose voice then shook the earth. When God spoke, the earth shook.
But now He has promised this. And God said this in a promise,
yet once more, I shake not the earth only, but I'm even going
to shake the heavens. The heavens are going to tremble.
The heavens are going to shake. And that means that the heavens
and earth are going to be removed because that's what he says next.
And this word, yet once more, this is what he's telling us.
The removing of those things that are shaking. of those things that are made,
that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore
we receiving, listen to this now, wherefore we receiving again
a kingdom which cannot be moved, can be moved. So that's my subject today, shaken
or not shaken. Will you be shaken or will you
remain? And let me tell you some things
that can be shaken. Lots of things can be shaken.
You know what man is? Man is an empire builder. He
don't have to have a very big empire, but he gonna build him
an empire. He wants to have a lot of things that he's got control
over. But man is an empire builder.
And you go through the scriptures. And you start looking at all
the empires that existed down through history. And man is in
it. If you take Egypt, and God sent
Moses to Egypt, you know what the first thing old Pharaoh said?
Who is the Lord that I should obey Him? And he was the God. He was the King. He was Pharaoh. He was just like God. And I mean,
you bowed to Him or died. You done what He said or died.
And then there's Babylon. Great, great Babylon. No kingdom
was ever greater than Babylon. That place was so big that they
said they'd take six chariots and run around the walls on that
thing. And they had Babylon, and I'll
tell you what, they had the kingdom of the Medes and Persians. But
where is Egypt now? Where is Pharaoh now? Where's
Pharaoh? What's Egypt now? It's in turmoil. It don't exist anymore as a kingdom. Pharaoh is a... The only reason
we mention him is because the Bible mentions him. And you know
everything God says about Pharaoh is bad? Negative? He said, Pharaoh, I only caused
you to live for one reason. I separated Paul from his mother's
womb to reveal grace in him. I separated you from your mother's
womb so I could destroy you. And what about Babylon? How about
on Nebuchadnezzar? Oh, build me a 70 foot tall statue. And when you hear this certain
music play, if everybody don't come bow down to that, they gonna
die. And what happened to Nebuchadnezzar?
God turned him out as he walked up and said, oh, it's this great
Babylon that I have built. About that time, God spoke from
heaven and put him out and he picked grass like a cow for seven
years. Hair grew so long and his nails
grew so long that he looked like a wild man. And when he got his
sense back, he said, this I know. This I know. that God, all the
inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing. But God,
God, He reigns over the armies of heaven and among the inhabitants
of the earth and no man can stay His hand. And oh, where's old
Nebuchadnezzar now? And old Belshazzar? He got out
golden cups that they used in the worship of God and him and
all these people got together and they started drinking wine
in them. And while they were sitting there, a great big hand,
just a hand, came out and started writing on the wall. Old Belshazzar,
oh, he started scaring, oh, yeah. And God said, oh, you're waiting
to bounce and found what happened to him. He died that night. Oh,
man's an empire builder. And more when the Medes and Persians,
they put Egypt under, I mean, Jerusalem under siege till women
and men were eating their children. And there's these old, they had
hundreds of thousands of people around. And two old lepers, they left
out that one night, said, live or die. Said, we got to get out
of here. Said, we're going to die if we stay in here. If we
go out there, they'll just fall in their hands. And they went
out there, and you know what they found? 85,000 people laying dead. And
oh, there was more food than they could have. I tell you that. Well, all these great empires
exist. And you know what the Medes and Persians is? That's
where Iraq and Iran That's what they are. That's
who they are. And oh, that's what I'm talking
about. Those things can be shaken. And they are shaken. And I tell
you what, Alexander the Great, when he was 29 years old, he
conquered the whole world. And that's why the Chinese built
the Great Wall of China, to keep out people like him. And where
is he now? Where's his empire? Where's his
kingdom? And when Rome existed, they said that every road led
to Rome. Called it the Eternal City. And
the only thing Rome's got going for it now is the Pope. Oh, and hold off Hitler. He had
buildings made and paintings made and he called it the third
reign, the third Reich. And he was going to reign for
his kingdom and his rule and the Nazi rule was going to last
for a thousand years. You know how long it lasted?
Twelve. Twelve. And oh, listen. And I tell you something. Don't
listen. And man's an empire builder. Tell you something else about
man. Man is ambitious. Oh, he's an ambitious thing.
Oh, man is ambitious. I mean, he wants to, in business,
he wants, if he gets in business, he wants to make a great name
for himself, make a lot of money, have magazines talked up and
talk about how much he's made and how much he's worth and how
well he does in the stock market. And then what happens? They die. And all their name, and all their
money, and all their stocks, and all their name, and all their...
And then somebody else comes up, and they talk about them,
and what they got, and how much they make. There's always somebody
coming on. And, ah, listen. Celebrities,
oh, we're an absolute celebrity. We just went, this country's
lost its mind over celebrities. Absolutely lost its mind. It's
either football stars, basketball stars, or a movie star, or a
singer, or somebody that people are just... You go to the grocery
store, have you ever seen anybody pick up them old tabloid things,
you know, and bleed their face with them? But I tell you what,
they reach the top, fame and fortune, And all of a sudden they get
old. Nobody gives them any more call. And then somebody new comes
along. Somebody young comes along. And
then they're gone. And you know why they're shaking?
Look what it says here in verse 27. You know why these kingdoms,
these empires, and these ambitious people. And I mean, you know,
men build empires. There's lots of preachers that
have built empires. Billy Graham built an empire.
What's that idiot from, well, they're all idiots. I'm
trying to think of one's name. He's an Indian, and I tell you,
he wears a white suit all the time. But Patino, they're empire
builders. They got these mega, mega churches
where they have 15, 18, 20,000 people come in. Let me tell you a little story
that I heard this morning. These three boys was talking
about their daddy, just talking about these empire builders,
man being ambitious and preachers being ambitious. One fellow said,
my daddy wrote on a piece of paper and turned it in, he got
$50 back. He said, well that ain't nothing.
My daddy wrote a little piece of paper and handed it in. He
got $50 back, I mean $100 back. He said, well that ain't nothing.
My daddy wrote a sermon and it took eight people to take up
the money. That's the way it is with those
people. Let me just give you an illustration. That Crystal
Cathedral, That thing was raking in millions and millions of dollars.
And you know what? They're bankrupt now. They don't even exist. Go ahead and build you a kingdom.
Go ahead and make a kingdom any way you want. Make it in your
little house. Make it in your home. Be a tyrant over your wife
and children. Go ahead and do all those things.
Go ahead and build you a kingdom. Go ahead and pile it up. Go ahead
and make you a kingdom and a world and an empire that you can feel
comfortable in and say, this is mine. I worked hard for this. This
all belongs to me. And look what happens to it. And
He said here in verse 27, And this word yet once more signifies
the removing of those things that are shaken. And this is
the reason why. They are shaken because they are things that
are made. They are things that are made. Man makes things. God creates
things. Man does things. God acts. And man, I tell you what, that's
why they're shaken because they're made by man. And everything man
makes is tainted with sin, covered with sin, sins in everything
a human being does. And I tell you in that vain glory,
and you can't depend on man, you can't do it. Don't never
depend on man. Don't trust man. And he was born
wrong, he lives wrong, and he'll die wrong no matter what he does
in this world and what his accomplishments are and what his empires are.
It don't make any difference. He is going to be shaken. You
look with me over in Psalm 146 just a minute. Let me show you
what I'm talking about. Psalm 146. Oh, you can't depend on man. The Lord said depending on man
is like leaning on a straw. Leaning on a straw. And I tell
you what, you put all your eggs in any man's basket and it will
cost you, cost you, cost you, cost you your soul, cost you
your life. And I tell you what our only
counselor is, the only person we look to is our Lord Jesus. The only man I've ever had confidence
in as far as anybody can do anything for me in this life that's lasting
and true is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Amen. And look what
he said here in Psalm 146 and verse 3. Put not your trust in
princes. You know what that means? That
means in the leaders. Don't put your trust in the leaders. Don't
put your trust in them fellas that's wearing the crown. Don't
put your trust in those fellas that's sitting on the throne. Don't put your trust in those
fellas that's got everybody around them, got a big crowd around
them. And everybody said, how great, how great, how wonderful,
how wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. He said, don't you put no trust
in the princess. And don't you put no trust in
the son of man. Any man that's born of a woman,
he said, don't you put no trust in. Why? Because there's no help in it.
When it push comes to shove, what can you do for one another
when it really gets the rubber hits the road, when you're in
the fire, when you're in the water? When you're up against
the wall and there ain't nobody but you and what are you going
to do? We can help one another as far
as money. We can help one another with
prayer. We can help one another with
food. We can help one another with
clothes. We can help one another with places to live. We can help
one another in lots of ways. But boy, there's something we
can't help one another with. That's with our souls and whether
we can be shaken or not or whether we'll stand or fall. We can't
do that. And look what else he says now.
And here's the reason why I don't put no trust in him. His breath
goes forth. It's leaving him one of these
days. His breath goes forth. I mean he's just a man and he's
got breath and God holds every single one of them. Look what
he says now. And he returns to the earth. His breath will leave him and
they'll wrap him up and we'll put him in a casket. They'll
wrap him in a linen cloth. They'll do something for him
and they'll put him back in the ground. And look what it says. And in that very day, everything
he ever thought, everything he ever hoped for, everything he
ever believed in, everything he ever accomplished, perish. He'll never have another thought.
about anything in this life, whether he's in hell or whether
he's in heaven. He'll never have another thought
about being ambitious, and if he's in glory, he certainly won't
be doing that. And let me show you another,
Psalm 39.5. Oh, this is why we don't put no trust in man. And people I love and people
I trust, and I bear my heart to often But when it's all said
and done, we can only go so far to help one another. And I'll tell you something else
about us as believers. We don't even trust ourselves. I don't even trust me. Do you? I've let myself down more times
than I can tell you. I've made promises to myself
that I was going to do something and then I Lied to myself. I didn't keep the promise. You
ever done that? You'll make a promise to yourself
this week. On Tuesday and by Tuesday night, you'll have lied
to yourself. You didn't keep the promise.
Do you do that stuff like that? You know, I'll tell you what. Ain't you thankful that salvation
is by the grace of God? And listen to what he says down
here in Psalm 39 in verse 5. Behold thou hast made my days
as a hand breath. That's what a hand breath is. And mine ages as nothing before
thee. Barely ever man in his best state
is altogether vanity. And that's why whatever it has
gonna be shaken. You can't depend on man. Man
made it tired to heaven. What happened to it? God tore
it down, sent them around the world and now they can't even
get along now. And let me tell you something,
now that's a kingdom that can be shaken because there are things
that are made. Anything that can be made is
going to be destroyed. Going to be destroyed. I'm telling
you this world and everything, He said things that are shaken
are going to be tore down. Things that can be shaken, man's
empires, everything man has thought about is gone. It's going to
be shaken. Why? Because it was made. It was made. But let me tell you something. Look what it says now. In the
last part of verse 27. That those things which cannot
be shaken may remain. Now what can't be shaken? Look
what it says, wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved. We have a kingdom that cannot
be moved. We're not in that, we're in a
kingdom. And what is this kingdom? It's the very kingdom of God
himself. That's what it is, it's the kingdom of God himself. Look
in Mark 10, just let me show you what I'm talking about. We
know that God has a kingdom. Our Lord Jesus says this. He
says, don't look for the kingdom of heaven to come here. Don't
look for it to come there. Mark 10, 14. Don't look for the
kingdom of God over here. Don't look for the kingdom of
God over there. Don't look for the kingdom of God over there
in that town. Don't look for it in this nation. Don't look
for it in that place. Don't look for it in America.
He said, don't look for it. He said, you know where it's
at? It's in you. And that's why we pray, Lord, thy kingdom come. Come and set up your kingdom
in this earth. Come and set up your kingdom
in those that don't know you. Come set up your kingdom in my
heart. And oh, may your will be done in me. And in those who
your kingdom has come and set up in. And may your will be done
in me, just like it's done in glory. That's what we're talking
about. But look what he said in Mark
10, 14. They brought some little children,
little ones, to the Lord Jesus Christ and His disciples rebuked
them, said, Oh, Lord ain't got time to deal with people that
just infants, just babies, just little children. But when Jesus
saw it, He was much displeased and said unto them, Suffer, allow
the little children to come unto Me. Don't you ever forbid them
Listen to this. He said, but that's the people
of the kingdom of God. Children. He said, I have hid
these things from the wise and prudent and revealed them unto
who? Babes. And about the time you think
you get grown up, you find out, boy, you're right back where
you started. Oh, you know, you think, man,
I'm about to learn something. I'm about to grow a little bit.
I think I'm going to, you know, I think I'm doing pretty good
right about now. And boom, you become as a little child. Come as a little child. Somebody's
got to be doing something for you all the time. And look what
else he says now. And he says, truly, verily I
say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God.
God's rule, God's reign, this kingdom where you're glad to
have the yoke of Christ on you, glad to have Christ rule over
you, glad to have God rule over you. And if you don't receive
the kingdom of God as a little child, you won't get anything. You won't be in this kingdom.
Huh? And that's why Paul sold the
Colossians, giving thanks unto the Father who hath delivered
us from the power of darkness and translated us, where at?
Into the kingdom of his dear Son. And I tell you what, that's
a kingdom, it says right here, that can't be moved. Now I tell
you what, look at all the kingdoms I told you about was moved. This
one ain't gonna never be moved. And you know why it can't be
moved? Because God can't be moved. They can talk about, you know,
wanting God to do this and allowing God to do that, you know, and
if you'll open up your heart, God will do this and God wants
to do that and God desires to do... They can talk about God
wanting to do all they want to. But I'm telling you something.
God cannot be moved. He cannot be changed. He said,
I am the Lord and I change not. There's nothing that can move
God. He does His will in the armies of heaven and among the
inhabitants of the earth, and ain't nobody gonna stop Him. He said it's not of Him that
willeth, it's not of Him that runneth, but it's of God. And I tell you, boy, God can't
be moved. Every good and every perfect
gift cometh down from the Father of lights. There ain't no variableness
or shadow turn about Him. And oh, beloved, that's what
he means, that there's nothing that can change about God. There's
no variable. He never changes. There's no
shadow. He's light, perfect light. Whenever
there's perfect light, there's no shadow. He can't be moved. I don't care
what these preachers do when they cry and say, oh, please,
please let God have His way with you. Oh, listen, we're going to bombard
heaven. I told you all about this one
time. This old Pentecostal preacher, he got to preaching and he said,
I tell you what, if I can get 300 people to get together with
me, he said, we'll bombard heaven and we'll change. We'll make
God change his mind about what he's going to do in this place. That'd be a pitiful God if you
could change his mind. I'll tell you one thing he'd
change his mind about. If he couldn't mind being changed,
he'd change it about me. He'd say, I believe I'll get rid of
that feller. I don't think there's much to him. I'd be the first
one that he'd throw out. I'd be the very first one. But
because he can't be, I won't never. And I'll tell you something else
that can't be moved. Our Lord Jesus Christ can't be moved.
Look what it said here in Hebrews 13a. Our Lord Jesus Christ cannot
be moved. Look at Hebrews 13a. Jesus Christ
is the same. And look what it says. Yesterday.
And today. forever. And I thought this last night
when I was working on this. I thought before this was ever
written down, Paul wrote it down because he was the same from
eternity that he was today that he was and he'll be the same
forever and he can't change. Lord, to who are we going to go to? You've got the words. You've
got the life. You've got the power. You'll
know the Lord Jesus Christ. He can't be moved. Go ahead. Go ahead. Knock, knock, knock,
knock, knock. King don't knock. He commands
people to come to him. Oh, Jesus standing over the banisters
of heaven and oh, He wants you so bad. Listen, our Lord Jesus Christ
ain't looking over the banisters of heaven, He's sitting on His
throne. He wasn't moved here, He's not moved there. Oh my, bless his holy name. And
listen, I'll tell you what, look in Hebrews 1 with me. We got a kingdom. We got a kingdom
that cannot be moved. Look in Hebrews 1 with me. Oh, not only with this kingdom,
and God can't be, that's why it can't be moved, because God
can't be moved, and our Lord Jesus Christ can't be moved.
It's God's kingdom and He can't be moved. Christ is the king
over it and the ruler over it. He can't be moved. And look what
it says here. And this is what God said. God,
see God has spoken. God has spoken. And in about
this kingdom, God who at sundry times and in divers manner. Stay! He talked. And time passed unto
the fathers through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all of
Israel, and all those. He spake by the prophets, by
Moses, and by Ezekiel, and Samuel. He spoke by the prophets. But
now listen to this. Hath in these last days spoken
unto us by son, And this son is whom he appointed heir of
all things by whom also made the world Who being the brightness
of his glory? Express image of his person and
the upholding of all things by the word of his power Listen
to it when he had by himself Purged our sins listen sit down
right hand God spoke And I tell you what, I'm going to tell you
something about God speaking. First of all, he spoke by his
son. Secondly, he only spoke up for
his son. He only spoke up for his son.
He said, this is my beloved son. Oh, there's Moses and there's
Elijah. That's not who we worship. He said, you will hear my son. You do what he says. And I tell
you, when God spoke, when his word is forever settled in heaven,
and that's something that can never be shaken, can never be
changed. When God says something, that's
it. Heaven and earth shall pass away.
But what He says, My Word shall never pass away. You know what
He uses to save His people? He uses the Word. He said, Be
born again, not by corruptible seed, but incorruptible. By what? The Word of God. You know what
we call it? The Word of God. Call it the
Bible, call it the Holy Book, but we say this is God's Word.
This is God's Word. And he says that this being born
again, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible by the Word
of God. And listen to what he said, which
liveth and abideth. How long does it do that? How
long does the Word of God live and abide? Forever. And this
is the Gospel that God used to save me. I tell you, God's Word, it will
never pass away. That's the way God used it. Look
back over here down to Hebrews 9 with me. And I tell you what,
God spoke about what His Son accomplished by His death. And
I tell you, because of that, God's Word will never change.
They sung that song completely in me. That's what God said about
us. He said He's the head of all
principalities and powers and ye are complete in Him. He hath perfected forever them
that are sanctified. I'm as perfect as I'm going to
get in God's sight. Now that's the truth. I'll never
get any more perfect than I am right now in God's sight. Now
I'm not perfect in this world, but in God's sight I'm as complete
and perfect as I'll ever be. Do you believe that? That's why
we come here in the gospel. That's why we rejoice in one
another. And that's why we rejoice in Christ. That's the way God
sees things and what God says. That's the way it is. You say,
well, I don't feel that way. I don't care how you feel. That's
what God said about it. Feelings don't have nothing to
do with it. If I had to go by my feelings, but I'll tell you what, we look
at this word and say, God said that. And I tell you, how firm
a foundation you say to the Lord is laid for your faith. Well,
it is an excellent word. What more can He say than to
you He has said? To you who to Jesus for refuge
have fled. What else can He say? Look here
in Hebrews 9.25. In verse 24, let me start there
a minute. For Christ is not entered into
the holy places made with hands. Those are the things that are
made, see. They're just tight figures of the truth. Where's
the tabernacle at? Where's the temple at now? Where's
Solomon's temple at now? That's what we're talking about.
But where did he go? He into heaven itself. Now, now
to appear in the presence of God for us. And nor yet that
he should offer himself like those high priests went into
the holiest of holies to offer those sacrifices. Nor yet that
he should offer himself as the high priest enters into the holy
place every year. Now listen to this, with the
blood of others. If that was the case, then he must have suffered
since the end of the foundation of the world. He'd have to just
keep doing it over and over and over. If he was like them, but
listen to it. But now once, once in the end
of the world, has he appeared to do what? Put away sin by the
sacrifice of himself. That's what God said. I told
you God spoke. Spoke by His Son. Spoke by His
death. Spoke by His sacrifice. Spoke
by His priesthood. Spoke by His being the prophet. Spoke by Him being the king.
God spoke through His Son and still speaks to us through His
Son. And let me tell you, let me tell
you something. God's people We got a kingdom,
the kingdom of God. God can't be moved. Christ can't
be moved. God has spoken and he spoke through his son, spoke
of his son. And I'll tell you something else. God's people
cannot be moved. God's people cannot be moved. And we don't have to sing that
song, I shall not be, I shall not be moved. We don't have to
sing that. No, no. You know, do like they
did back in those days. But listen, God's people cannot
be moved. Why? Because God is our God. If He can't be moved and we're
in Him, we can't be moved. We can't be moved because of
Christ and what He did for us. We can't be moved because of
salvation. God gave it to us and he won't take it away. Philippians
1.6, you know what he says? Being confident of this one thing,
that he which hath performed a good work in you, what's he
going to do? Shall perform it unto thee. That's
what God says about it. And our Lord Jesus Christ, He
Himself, He said, I give unto my sheep eternal life, and they
shall never perish. Neither shall any man pluck them
out of my hand. For my Father which gave them
me is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out
of my Father's hand. And I'll tell you what, look
with me in John 10.14. You just got to see this. John 10.14.
I want you to see this. That's why Paul said, I'm persuaded. that there ain't nothing, nothing
in heaven, earth, angels, principalities, powers that's able to separate
us from the love of God in Christ. Nothing. You name what it is
and it won't separate us. If there's anything that could
have ever separated you, you'd have done it. In fact, that's why I said death
don't do it. You know what death does? And that kingdom. Look what our
Lord Jesus Christ said here in John 10 14. I am the good shepherd. And watch
what he says about us now. And know, know my sheep. And this is what else he says
now. It's one thing for him to know us and he says And I'm known
of mine. Mine know me too. I'm my beloved
and my beloved is mine. I know them. And guess what? They know me too. They know me
too. And as the Father knows me, even
so know I the Father. And I lay down my life for the
sheep. Now watch this now. And other
sheep I have, which are not in this fold right here, and look
what he says them also I what must bring them and listen to
what he says now all such this is this is and they shall hear
my voice they shall hear my voice and thou be one fold and one
shepherd no no must I'll tell you what the shepherd will find
every sheep for which he died and They also be saved They shall
call his name Jesus for he shall shall save his people from their
what their sin Well, let me ask you a question. We'll go back
over here in Hebrews 12. I Let me ask you this question.
How do we get in this unmovable kingdom? We receive a kingdom
which cannot be moved. How do we get in this kingdom?
Everything that's made is going to be shaken. How do we get in
an unmovable kingdom? You remember that time Herman
Menier was going across Clifty Road, Neeson, over there, and
you said, boy, there used to be this here and there and this
and all this there. And there ain't no evidence anything ever
existed there now. Why? Those things are made. They're
gone. And how do we get in this unmovable
kingdom? By Christ. That's how you get in. You get
in by the Lord Jesus Christ. And that's how you get even.
And our Lord Jesus... Well, let's look at it again.
I hope I'm not taking too long. John 18. I'm wound up tight on a banjo
string this morning. Doing good. So let me just pluck on this
banjo string until it's worn out. Oh boy. But it's in tune, ain't
it? It's in tune. That's one good
thing about it. My banjo's in tune, Brad. I'm
plucking on the right string. Look what it said here in John
18, in verse 36. Our Lord Jesus answered and said,
My kingdom is not of this world. No, no, no, no. If my kingdom were of this world,
you know what, we'd all get us a gun, we'd get us a sword and
we'd start fighting. that I should not have been delivered
to the Jews, but now is my kingdom, not from this world. Don't have
nothing to do with this world. It's a spiritual kingdom. It's
a heavenly kingdom. It's a kingdom of grace, a kingdom
of Christ, a kingdom of righteousness. And listen to this, Pilate therefore
said unto them, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, thou sayest
that I am a king. Now look what he said. To this
end, this was the reason I was born. And came into this world
that I should bear witness unto the truth. Now listen, everyone
that is of the truth hears my voice. Don't we hear it? Oh, listen. Well, I'll tell you
something else. We get in by Christ and we have
an inheritance. We're in this kingdom because
we inherited it. We inherited it. He said, you know, we receive
an inheritance. Well, let's look at it over here
in 1 Peter. 1 Peter 1 verse 3. You don't have to turn. I'll
read it to you. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten
us again unto a lively hope, a living hope by the resurrection
of Jesus Christ from the dead. Now listen to this. To an inheritance,
and this is the kind of inheritance we've got. We're talking about
things that can't be moved and things that can. To an inheritance
incorruptible, Undefiled and listen to it now that fate is
not away and reserved for you in heaven We got inheritance. We can't lose. We just can't
lose it Can't lose it And all listen and look what else it
says down here down in Hebrews 12 And how do we get in this unmovable
kingdom? By Christ. The cause of Christ. By the grace of God. And we have
an inheritance that we receive. And it's just like God. It can't
be moved. Immovable. And I tell you what. And I tell
you how else you get this kingdom. It says in verse 28. Wherefore
we receive a kingdom. Well how in the world do you
receive a kingdom? Which cannot be moved. And look what he says.
Let us have grace. whereby we may serve God acceptably
with reverence and godly fear. We receive this kingdom by grace. That's how we receive it. And that's what our Lord said,
if you're a little child, you get the kingdom. If you're puffed
up and you're proud and you're self-righteous and you don't
need it, Talked to somebody last night, every member of my family,
every brother, sisters, every member of my family, they don't
need Christ because they're good enough. They'll tell you they're
good enough. They're quick to tell you, I'm
good enough, I don't need that, I'm good enough, I'll be alright
when this horse isn't done. But oh, listen, we receive a
kingdom. And look what he says, we receive
it by grace and we serve God acceptably with reverence and
godly fear. Who has reverence for God? Tell
me somebody who has reverence for God. Huh? Who has godly fear? Who has godly
fear? Who has that? I'll tell you why,
who has it? Those in this kingdom and those that has the grace
of God and we must have grace to be in this kingdom And we
must have grace to receive it. Ain't that right? Well, what
can be shaken? Everything but us and God. And us because we're in God. I'll have times that I'll get
shook up in this world. But the kingdom I am ain't going
to be shaken. And I tell you what, I'm not going to be shaken
when it's all said and done. ain't going to be shaken. Oh, our gracious, gracious Father,
in the blessed name of our Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for allowing
us to meet here today and to worship. Oh, thank you for filling
my heart with joy, peace, believing. Thank you for the abundance of
mercy and grace given us in Christ. And I ask, Lord, that the Holy
Spirit, He must do it. We take the things that are said
today and make them true, make them effectual, make them prosper
in the heart, the mind, and the understanding. We ask these things
in our Lord Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.
