It says here, let not your heart
be troubled. You believe in God, believe also
in me. In my Father's house are many
mansions. If it were not so, I would have
told you. I'd go to prepare a place for
you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come
again and receive you unto myself, that where I am, there you may
be also. I want to talk about cure for
heart trouble. Our Lord gives comfort to His
own. He said in John 13, right before He washed His disciples'
feet, He said, Having loved His own, He loved them unto the end. And He does. He loves His own
unto the end. Unto the end of their life here.
And unto the end of time in which there will never be no end. There'll
be an end of time for us, but not no end of time for Him. Having
loved His own, He loved them. Why would our Lord say this to
His disciples? Let not your heart be troubled.
Why would He say that? He's with them. He just washed
their feet. He'd had supper with them. And
I read there in John 13 where he called them little children.
Little children. Talked to them as little children.
Judas had left them. In verse 30, back over here in
John 13, it says, He then having received the soft in me that
went, Judas had left them. Our Lord is talking to the eleven
now. And so then he was talking to
them and said, Let not your heart be troubled. And look what he
says to Simon Peter here, you know. He says, Our Lord is speaking
to the eleven. And he turns from speaking to
Peter. Look what he says there. Simon Peter said, Lord, where
are you going? Verse 36 of John 13. Why can't I, why can't we
follow you now? But you follow me afterwards.
Peter said, Lord, why can I not follow you now? I'll lay down
my life for you. Oh, yeah, you would. I'm sure
you would. But, Burley, I'm telling you,
before the cock crow, you shall deny me three times. And I tell
you, these fellows, their hearts are troubled. And our Lord says,
why are your hearts troubled? Don't let them be troubled. Now,
these verses have so much blessed truth in them, precious to the
heart of God's elect. have been for century after century
after century after century. These words have been great comfort
to the hearts of God's elect. They've been a comfort, they've
been an encouragement to the Lord's people all over the world
at all ages since the Lord Jesus spoke. How many people have been
blessed by them? How many people on their deathbed
or in a sick room have had these scriptures read to them and found
great comfort from them? But let me tell you, this business
of heart trouble, it's a trouble that's common to all God's people.
It's a trouble that's common to every human being, but especially
God's people. But our Lord gives us a remedy
for this disease. It's a trouble common. He says
the disease is heart trouble. We have it. And it's because
of unbelief, it's because of sin, because we're still in the
body, because we have so much flesh to deal with. The disease
is heart trouble, but the remedy our Lord gave us to us. He says
in verse 1, let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God,
believe also in me. So the disease is heart trouble,
the remedy is faith. Not just faith, but faith in
Christ. The heart trouble, I'm telling
you, beloved, is the commonest thing in the world among the
Lord's people, among anybody. Nobody's free from it. Nothing
can keep it out. You know, Proverbs 4.23 says,
Keep the heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues
of life. And he saw, our Lord Jesus saw his disciples, saw
the looks on their face, saw how they looked at one another.
See, now they were reacting to what he was saying. See, what
was going on among them, and he looked at them, and he saw
that their hearts was troubled. You think the Lord don't know
when our hearts are troubled? You think he can't look right
into the very hearts of our hearts? Look into our souls and say,
oh, and he looks at us and says, let not your heart be troubled.
He's seen that their hearts was troubled. So what he does, he
comforts them. He gives them a remedy for it.
He comforts them. And he establishes them, and
he builds up his loved ones. He builds them up. And I tell
you, their hearts were troubled for seeing their master troubled
in spirit. Look back over here at John 13,
21. Their hearts were troubled because
they saw their master troubled in spirit. When Jesus had thus
said, he was troubled in spirit, troubled in spirit. Oh, my, when
they saw him troubled in spirit, that would trouble them. That
troubled their hearts. And then when he says this, and
they were troubled because they heard somebody's going to betray
them, I say unto you that one of you shall betray me. One of
you is going to betray me. So here he's sitting, talking
to these dear saints of God, these apostles, and he says,
one of you is going to betray me. Now, if our Lord Jesus Christ,
if I was sitting and I see that, he says, one of you is going
to betray me, I would be troubled. I've been with trouble in my
heart. Will I be one that will betray Him? Will I ever turn
on the Lord Jesus Christ? Would I ever deny Him? Would
I ever sell Him for something less than 30 pieces of silver?
Would I sell Him for the world? Would I sell Him for pleasure?
Would I sell Him for sin? Would I sell Him for comfort
of flesh? Would I betray Him? Oh my, that troubles your heart.
And then Judas left them and they didn't know why. And their
master, he turned around and says, little children, I'm going
away. And where I go, you can't come.
Oh my, you're talking about trouble a lot, little children. I'm going
away. I'm leaving. I'm leaving here. And I'm going away. And where I'm going, you can't
come with me. Why can't we come? Oh, Peter
told him, he said, Oh, Lord, I'll follow you, I'll even die
with you. And our Lord said, I know that's
the intent of your heart, Simon Peter. But he told him, you'll
deny me three times, and that will trouble your heart. And their hearts were troubled.
And our Lord Jesus noticed that they all had their hearts were
troubled, their hearts were stirred up, worried, fearful, troubled,
means that they had things that they thought about, feared about,
worried about, anxiety about, things that they didn't understand. And then look what our Master
says there in verse one, let not your heart be troubled. You know, He speaks the heart
in singular. He didn't say, let your hearts He said, let your heart, because
he's talking to individuals. He's talking to them as individuals.
And when he talks, he uses a singular to speak to all of us, the heart
of anyone. And I don't know about you all,
but I've had heart trouble lots of times over the years. And
we have heart trouble because of the things that's within us.
Sin, unbelief, doubt, the old flesh, Weakness, weary, things
that should not bother me, but they still do. And then things
that are without. Things that go on in the world.
Things that go on with my children. Things that go on with my family. Things that go on in folks with
the church. I mean, things without. Things
that go on in the world. These things cause your heart
to trouble. Sometimes trouble comes from your heart because
your body is in such pain. Because your body is frailing
you, and your body is weak, and your body's frail, and that'll
cause your heart to be troubled, because your body is breaking
down, and you're hurting in it. Sometimes it comes from the mind.
Your mind gets so fearful, and gets so anxious, and gets so
weary that it won't sleep, and your heart gets troubled. Sometimes
our hearts get troubled because from what we love. or from what
we love, and we seem we're going to lose what we love. Sometimes
our hearts are troubled from fear, from great fear that what's
going to happen tomorrow, what's going to happen in the future,
what will I do, what will happen? And life's journey is full of
trouble. Job said it like this, man that's
born of a woman is full of trouble, full of trouble, full of trouble. And oh, but our Lord gave us
a remedy. Oh, we got heart trouble. Heart trouble. But there's a
remedy our Lord gave it to us. What can be done about it? Oh,
our Lord says, you believe in God, believe also in me. Faith
in the Lord Jesus. Faith in the Lord Jesus is the
only sure remedy against this disease. Looking unto Him, the
author and finisher of our faith. And beloved, I tell you, to believe
more thoroughly, or to believe Christ more thoroughly, to trust
Him more entirely, to rest on Him without reserve, to lay hold
on Him more firmly, to lean back on Him completely, repose ourselves
in Christ. And that's what our Lord prescribed
for our heart disease. Believe in me. He said, here
you believe in God. You believe in God. I believe
in God. You believe in God. We believe
He's one. Holy. All-wise. Omnipotent. God-righteous and
gracious. Just in all of His actions. He
said to him, you believe in God? Peter, you believe in God. John,
you believe in God. James, you believe in God. Matthew,
you believe in God. Mark, you believe in God. You believe He's one. You believe
He's got all power. You believe He's infinite in
His wisdom. You believe He's righteous and
full of grace. You believe He's just in everything
that He does. You believe in His sovereignty.
You believe His word of promise. And you believe His prophecies
concerning me. Then our Lord Jesus Christ said,
you believe in God, but watch what He says. Believe also in
me. He didn't say if you believe
in God. He makes the statement you do. There's no issue. Believe also in me. And I'm going
to tell you something. Faith in God is useless apart
from the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith in God is useless apart
from Jesus Christ. You can't believe God without
knowing Christ. You can't know God without knowing
Christ. And oh, beloved, look what he
says here down in verse 6. Excuse me, verse 8 and 9. John
14, 8 and 9. Philip saith unto him, Lord,
show us the Father. Show us the Father. Show Him
to us. You said you believe in God,
and you said in the Father. Show us the Father. No man come
to the Father will show us the Father. And it'll be sufficient. It'll satisfy us. We won't worry.
Our hearts will cease to be troubled. And our Lord said unto him, Have
I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known Me,
Philip? He that hath seen Me hath seen
the Father. And how sayest thou this, Show
us the Father? Oh, my! He says, you know, He
says, The invisible God that you ain't never seen, when you
see Me, you see Him. The fullness of the God that
dwells in Me bodily. He says, God, who dwells in the
light that no man can approach unto, that light came in body,
came in flesh. And he said, I'm the light of
the world. He that seeth me and believeth on me. He ain't gonna
walk in darkness anymore. He's gonna have the light of
life itself. And oh, bless his holy name.
You see, he says down here in verse six, he said, Jesus said,
I am the way. He said no man comes unto the
Father. He's the way. He's the way to God. How are
you going to get to God if you can't go through Jesus Christ?
You can't get to God through the church. You can't get to
God through the Pope. You can't get to God through
the preacher. You can't get to God through a doctrine. You can't
get to God through anything that your flesh can ever do. If you
ever get to God the Father, you've got to go through Jesus Christ
and come to Him. That's the only way. He's not
a signpost. He's not a signpost. There's a way. And then there's
another one over here that says, well, this is another way. You
get there this way. And then somebody else comes
along and says, you get there this way. Our Lord said, if you're
going to come to the Father, I am the way. I'm not a signpost
pouring the rain. You ain't getting there unless
you come with me. Didn't look what else he said.
And then he says, I'm the truth. The way of the truth. He was
truth incarnate. He's full of grace and truth.
You want truth? The old father said to him, what
is truth? And he said it in a sarcastic
way. Well, I'll tell you what is truth.
You want to know, you don't need to look any further. You want
to know the truth about man? You look to Jesus Christ and
compare yourself. You know, when we compare ourselves
to one another, we come out in good shape. But God don't compare us to one
another. You've got to be like Jesus Christ. You know, man in
and of himself, he's not worth the salt that goes in any biscuit
he ever ate in his whole life. Man is a worm, he's a grasshopper,
he's a sinner, he's a wretch, he's got a... Every man is born
with a copperhead and a rattlesnake in his heart. That's why the poison of asthma
is under his tongue. Well, that's why, I mean, he's
got a rattlesnake in his heart. He's got poison in him. And, beloved, if God don't take
that poison out, he'll poison everything that he touches, everything
that he's involved in. He'll destroy everything. I mean,
everything that's involved in it, he'll destroy it. And that
poison that's in him, it'll destroy him. And if God don't come along
and show man the truth about himself, Make him understand
that he's poor, wretched, miserable, blind, and naked. You want to know truth about
man? Compare yourself to Jesus Christ, because that's who God's
going to compare you to. And that's who you've got to
know. And then you wonder why man is the way he is? You want
to know what the invisible God's actually like? The truth is found
in Christ. You want to know how God can
be just? And justify the ungodly? Truth. You'll find that truth in Jesus
Christ, Lord Jesus. You want to find out how God
can be just? And justify our wretchedness? Huh? Justify you? Sinful you? Wretched you? Ungodly you? Ungodly me? You want to know how he can stay
just and justify me and clear me of all guilt and do away with
all my sins? The only place you can find that
out is in Jesus Christ. And then look what else he said
here. He says, not only am I the way of the truth, but I'm the
life. I am the life. Without me, there's no life there. He said, I am the life. Oh my. This is eternal life, that they
might know Thee, the only true God. And what's this? In Jesus
Christ, whom Thou hast sent. That's what Obie started with
last week. That they might know Thee, the only true God. You
see, the will of God in which you believe is this, that God
is, Christ is life. Life. Life. Life. Eternal life. A holy life. A new life, a new heart. This life that we have is the
life that Christ is. Christ in you is the hope of
glory. Christ in you is our life. Oh, that's why life is so blessed. And, oh, beloved, they had proved,
they had proved they had faith in the Lord Jesus. They left
all and they forsook all for Him. They forsook all for Him. They left everything. Yet He
says, and He says what? He says, let not your heart be
troubled. Believe! Believe more! Believe on Me! And believe, and believe, and
believe, and keep on believing, and believe more! That's the
only cure for your heart trouble. Look over at Chief John 14, and
look with me over here. In Isaiah 26, Isaiah 26, that's
why David said, I had fainted unless I had believed to see
the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. You see,
beloved, we walk by faith, not by sight. And these men at this
time were walking by sight. And just as sure as we start,
if we walked by sight, how many of you would have been here today
if you had walked by sight? If you walk by sight of what was
going on in the world, if you walk by sight of yourself, if
you walk by sight of something you've seen somebody else do, if you walk by sight by anything that's going on, you
wouldn't have been here today. If you'd walk by sight by just
looking at yourself, If you were to walk by sight, by looking
at what goes on in the world. If you were to walk by sight,
by looking at religion. But we're not walking by sight.
And these fellows, that's what they was doing. They was looking.
And that's why I said, let not your heart be troubled. And I
tell you, beloved, if we don't walk by sight, what do we do?
We walk by faith. Ain't no sense looking at me.
Ain't nothing in me worth looking at. Ain't that right, Rick? He says,
Thou dwells in me, in my flesh, and no good thing. Look what
he said in Isaiah 26 and verse 3. Thou will keep him in perfect
peace. Peace, peace is what that says.
Peace like a river. Peace, peace, whose mind is stayed
on thee, because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord
forever, for the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength. That's what he's saying. Believe,
believe in me. And oh beloved, I tell you back
over in John 14. Weak faith in Christ will save
a man. Weak faith in Christ will save
a man, but strong faith in Christ will bring comfort to a man.
And if you want more faith, the only place you can find it, faith
cometh by hearing, hearing by the Word of God. Look more to
the Lord Jesus Christ. Lean, lean hard on the Lord Jesus
Christ. And I know this, I know this,
and you know it, the more you know of Him, the more you'll
trust Him. And the more you trust Him, the
less the heart will be troubled. That's why Paul says, you know,
I know whom I have believed. I know whom I have believed.
And I'm persuaded that whatsoever I have committed unto him, now
listen to it, he is able, that is the key, he is able to keep
that which I have committed unto him. Troubled heart or not. You say, well, I'm not sufficient.
No, I know that. Know it about myself, and I know
it about you. But His grace is. I'm weak. I know that, and I
am too. Yes, but He's strong. I'm ignorant. Oh, my. How ignorant? I don't have a clue. But I tell
you something, He's the wisdom of God. Let not your heart be troubled.
Look what our Lord said. Let not your heart be troubled.
Believe in me. Believe in me. And I'll tell
you why you should believe in me and why you do believe in
me. Because of heaven and because of your future. Though you've
left all, you'll receive all. Now, our Lord here gives a description
of heaven to us. He gives us a description of
heaven. He said in verse 2, In my Father's house are many mansions. You know, the Lord Jesus is the
only one who ever called heaven my Father's house. He's the only
one ever called it my Father's house. And He says, you want
to go to my Father's house? No man come unto the Father but
by me. You can't even go to the Father, much less get in the
Father's house. In my Father's house are many mansions. That
many mansions means dwelling place. And heaven is a house. That's what he called it, in
my father's house. It's not a tent. It's not temporary. Oh, no, no. You know, if our earthly tabernacle,
if this house be dissolved, we have the building of God. Not
made with hands. And it's eternal in the heavens.
Eternal in the heavens. And look what he says. He said
it's the Father's house. And, oh, I tell you, it's the
very house of God. And when it's a Father house,
it's a home. It's a home. The home of our
Lord Jesus Christ and all of His children. It's home. Well, I tell you, we talk about
going home. We sing about, oh, going home.
I'm going home. The girls sing that song, I'm
going home. I'm going home. And that's what
he talks about here, going home. Leaving this place, going home.
And boy, I tell you what, when I'm gone a long time ago somewhere,
and when we get Go down that little hill, go down that last
curve, and I see that fence, and I say, oh boy, home! No place
like home! That old movie years ago, St. E.T. said, home, home! Well,
I tell you what, that's why we say, home, home! Oh, we love
it. It's a home, the home of our
Lord. And let me tell you something, home is where we're loved. Home is where we're most comfortable. Home is where we're welcome,
even though we don't have any gifts. Home is where we're welcome,
no matter what we have. Home is where we're welcome,
no matter where we've been. Home is where we're welcome,
no matter what we've accomplished. Home is where we're loved. All
the way to the end. Home is where we're never forgotten.
Home is where we're always welcome. And almost all of you got to
welcome that outside your door. Welcome. And that's what God
said. Welcome. Welcome. This world here is not a home.
We're strangers here. Strangers in a strange land.
We're like people away at school. We're in school. Someday we're
going to graduate. You know when we're going to
graduate? The day we graduate, we're leaving this place. Oh, home! When we get home, we
leave, we shut the door, and we leave the strife of the world
behind. We leave the troubles of the
world behind. And we can sit down and enjoy
peace and rest. And that's what we'll do when
we're going to be with our Savior. And oh, our Lord said it's a
place of mansions. Mansions. Lasting, permanent,
eternal dwellings. Paul said in Hebrews, in this
town we have no dwelling place. We are looking for a city. We're
looking for a place. We're looking for an abiding
place. Home is a place of man. This place of heaven is a place
of mansions. Lasting, permanent, eternal dwelling. Here we're subject to changes,
but not there. And you know why it calls them
mansions? You and I will never have a mansion here. Never have
a mansion. We just got a home. It's a comfortable
home. God's blessed us with comfortable homes. We'll never have a mansion, but
he called them mansions, for the richness and the vastness
of our God and what he's prepared for his own. I'm going to have a mansion. Mansion. You know, they say,
build my cabin in the corner. There's not going to be no cabins. Just mansions. One great, big,
huge dwelling place. Could God provide anything less
for His people? When people have mansions here
in both glory and death, you imagine what a dwelling place
He's fixed for us. You know, you people down here
say, oh my, look at that man. Listen, you wait till we get
there and say, oh my. You know, that's why there's
silence in heaven for the space of 30 minutes. I believe when
we all get there that the angels stand in awe as we walk around
and we just... Oh, there's many of them. You
know what it says, many of them? Because there's going to be many,
many, many, many sons taking the glory. And let me tell you something.
Look what our Lord said. He said, it's a place where He Himself
will be present. He said, where I am, there you
may be also. Wherever I am, He's going to
be present. And He won't be content until
He has all of His people with Him. And we're going to see Him
as He is. We're going to be with Him. We're
going to share His glory. And they're going to be like
Him, be just like Him. And oh, listen, here's my last
point. Oh, you're talking about solid ground. Solid ground expecting
these blessed things. Expecting this. Let not your
heart be troubled. Believe God. Believe also in
Me. Many mansions in my Father's
house, great and glorious dwelling places. But here's solid ground
for expecting, expecting these good things to come. I love standing
on solid ground, don't you? We hear these things. I've talked
to them about this this morning. And while we hear them, yet unbelief
robs us of the blessings of them, the enjoyment of them. And sometimes
we're afraid that we won't get to enter in. Maybe when I get
to the end of this, my faith is not really real. I dream for me. Oh, but listen.
Listen to what our Lord Jesus Christ said in verse 2. He said, I go to prepare a place
for you. Bless His holy name. I go to
prepare a place. Now, He says for you. John, James, Peter. For you. For you. I go to prepare a place
for you. He told him, said, I'm going
away. Peter says, well, why can't I go with you? He says, because
where I'm going right now, I got to go by myself. I got to go
and tread the winepress of the fierceness of God's wrath by
myself. I got to go and by the sins of
my people, By myself. When they came to get the Lord
Jesus Christ, and they were with Him there, He says, you seek
Me, let these go their way. You can't have a spoke. You've
got to take Me. These get to go free. And He said, I go by
Myself. I've got to go face God alone. I've got to go and bear your
sins by Myself. I've got to go into the holiest
of holies by Myself. I've got to take my own blood
into the presence of God by Myself. I've got to purge your sins by
myself. You can't go with me here. You
can't go into that darkness. You can't go into that place
where I'm going to face God and face His wrath and face His justice
and bear His sin. You can't go with me. I've got
to go there by myself. And then, beloved, not only I'm
going to prepare a place for you there on that blessed cross,
but I'm going to, you can't go with me when I go into heaven
and sit down at the right hand of God. I'm going to go there,
and I'm going to prepare a place. I'm going there, and I'm going
as your forerunner. He said, with Jesus, our forerunner. John the Baptist was the forerunner
by the Lord Jesus Christ. So everyone come and ask me,
and that's what our Lord said. There's another one. I'm going
to come get that one. And oh, beloved, listen. He's our forerunner. He went up to our temple and
said, there's a whole multitude, there's no making number, coming
after me. And they're all going to come.
Because I took care of their debt. I took care of their sin.
I took care of their guilt. I took care of their debt. I
took care of their judgment. I took care of their wrath. I
fulfilled the law for them. That's why I prepared a place
for them. I've done it. I've done it. And Our Beloved has said, I'll
be there as their advocate. And I'll be there to make sure
that their possession is legal. And I'll tell you something.
You remember when that high priest, when he put on his breastplate, and he went into that holy place
once a year. six stones on this shoulder and
six stones on this shoulder. He had the names of all the children
of Israel engraved on them. And there was six on this side
and six on this side. All the names of the children
of Israel engraved in them stones. And he went into that holy place.
And why he had those names on there, to bury, to wait, of them
upon his shoulder and had them over his heart so he could bear
them on his breast. And our Lord Jesus bore our names
on his shoulders, craving. He said, I've craven thee. I'll
never leave you. I'll never forsake craven you
in the palms of my hand. And he took our names with him
into heaven itself, all the names of his children. In fact, he
said he'd give them a stone new name. Oh, bless His name. Bless His name. And, oh, beloved,
He's prepared by carrying our names into the presence of God. You know, In Hebrews 9, there's
three appearings of our Savior. You don't have to look, I'll
just give them to you. He has appeared, Hebrews 9, 26. He has
appeared once in the end of the world to put away sin by the
sacrifice of Himself. He does now appear in heaven
in the presence of God, right now, for us. And then in verse
28, He shall appear again without sin unto salvation. For who? Them's looking for Him. I'm looking
for him. And I tell you something, beloved,
those who enter heaven will neither be unknown nor unexpected. When you get there, you won't
be unknown when you get there. Nobody down here may have a clue
who you are. Not have a clue who you are. I used to remember years and
years ago, I would be astonished that anybody would remember my
name. When I heard Henry preaching
one time and he mentioned my name, it just broke my heart
that he even thought enough of me to mention my name. I used to wonder, why in the
world would anybody ever invite me to their house? You just didn't
know how awful I am. But, beloved, when I get to glory,
they'll know exactly who I am. And when you get there, you'll
know exactly who you are. You know what he'll say? Welcome,
thou good and faithful servant. Welcome. Come on. I know your
name. He said, you were my sheep. I
told you my name. Come on in. Not only will you
be known there, you'll be expected. You're expected. He's expecting you. Oh, isn't
that what he says here? He says, Oh my, I go to prepare
a place for you. Listen, verse three. And if I
go prepare a place for you, I will come again and listen
to this and receive you unto myself. Now, beloved, he's done
that once. He comes by the Holy Ghost and
by the preaching of the Gospel and by the Holy Spirit. He brought
us to Himself. He brought us to Himself. Didn't
He do it? He brought us to Himself. He receives us unto Himself. And then, beloved, He's going
to come and He's going to come and He's going to take the life
from this body. He gives it and He takes it.
He said he holds the breath of every living soul in his hand.
There's an hour appointed for all the living. That's why David
says, Lord, make me to know the end of my days. Give me wisdom
to know the end of my days. He'll come and he'll reach in
that clay vessel we have, and he'll take the life out of it.
And the moment that life's gone out of it, it's gone to be with
him. Gone to be with him. He says, precious in the sight
of the Lord. Precious in the sight of the
Lord. Can you think about that? Precious in the sight of the
Lord is the death of His saints. And then He says He'll come again.
And you know what happens when He comes again? He'll change
all of us. We'll be changed in a moment,
in the twinkling of an eye. And we shall forever be with
the Lord. And he says that where I am,
you may be also. He told that thief on the cross,
today, today, you're going to be with me. One of these days,
it'll be today you're going to be with me. That's why we have
such hope for our loved ones. And then he says this, he said,
now let me wind it up with this. And he says there, he said, In verse 2, he said, If it were
not so, I would have told you. If it were not so, I would have
told you. Now, beloved, we can rest right here on what our Lord... If it were not so, I would have
told you. We can rest upon solid ground here. Because this is
the very words of Him who cannot lie, who cannot change. He's
Jesus Christ. It's the same today, yesterday,
and forever. This is the Word. This is the promise. The truth
from the lips of Him. who made the worlds by his word
and upholds them by the word of his power. His words forever
settled in heaven. And this is what he says, if
there were no mansions, I would have told you so. If there was
no heaven, I would have told you so. If there was no prepared
place for you, I would have told you so. If there was no reason
to have faith in me, I would have told you so. And if I wasn't
coming to get you again, I would have told you so. But I told you so. Let not your
heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also
in me. In my Father's house are many
mansions. And I go to prepare a place for
you. And if I wasn't going to do that,
I'd have told you so. I'd have told you so. So, beloved,
with all of our weaknesses, with all of our frailties, with all
of our worries, with all of our fears, with all of our anxieties,
with all of our tears, with all of our labors, we have a blessed
promise. There's an end to it. We have
a blessed friend, a precious brother, an elder brother, a
blessed Savior, while we live on this earth. And we have a
true, true home to go to when this is done. When this is done. O precious, precious Father,
our great and glorious God, how precious your word is, how you
bless us with your gospel. How you strengthen us, encourage
us, give us great comfort. I'm sure when those disciples
heard you say these things, their hearts were at rest. And our
hearts are at rest now, Lord, because you just told us. You
just told us what you're doing. What you're doing, what you will
do. And we believe you. We believe you. We believe you. You cannot lie. We believe you. We believe that you'll save your
people. We believe that you'll cause the gospel to be the power
of God unto salvation. We believe you will give new
hearts. We believe you'll give life,
because we believe you. Bless your name, Savior. Bless
your name, our Lord Jesus. Amen.
