I'm not going to pick up one
particular place, I'm just going to try to go through it and see
what it says. Now, Zechariah, he's a man who God used at the
same time that he used Haggai and Malachi. And a lot of preachers,
you know, we have a tendency, some preachers have a tendency
to try to correct people with the law. Bring them under subjection
and correct them with God's law. Or some of them try to tell them
what they're going to get and what God will give them to them
if they'll do the right thing, and if they'll live right, pray
right, and that, God will reward them with great blessings. But
I know this, that none of these things will have any effect.
It will not change a man's heart. It will not change a man's heart,
no matter what you say. The only thing that will change
a man's heart is the message, the gospel of Christ crucified.
The only thing that will change a man's heart is grace experienced
in the heart. Let the love of God be manifest
in a man's heart, shed abroad his heart by the Holy Ghost.
And His mercy is shown to that sinner, and then that causes
the heart. That alone will cause the heart
to fall after the Lord Jesus and after God. You see, nothing,
nothing will inspire devotion like thankfulness and gratitude.
We cannot never be thankful enough. Nothing promotes gratitude and
thankfulness like grace. Does grace promote gratitude
and thankfulness in our heart for what God's done and what
He's doing? And nothing motivates love like
love. Love will motivate love. And
so that's why Zechariah, when he began to prophesy to these
people, as he did in Haggai and Ezra's day, He began to tell
them about God's grace and mercy. He told them what God had done
to them, that it was their fault, but now God has promised God's
grace and mercy, His power and His glory, when Messiah, the
Lord Jesus Christ, would come. And he speaks in the beginning
of this of our Lord's first coming to redeem us, come to redeem
us with His blessed blood. And even to put away, it says
in chapter 3 and verse 9, you don't have to look at it, to
put away the iniquity of his people by the sacrifice of himself.
He would put away iniquity in one day. And he speaks about
the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ when he said in
Zechariah 14 and 5, said, The Lord my God shall come and all
of his saints with me. He'll come again. And another
thing that Zechariah does in these fourteen chapters, he speaks
of that day. Often uses the term that day.
That day. Now he's talking to people that
God had done brought back from Babylonian captivity. And he
used that phrase in that day twenty different times. Twenty
different times. He uses it sixteen times in the
last three chapters when he says that day. And that day that he's
talking about, that day that he's talking about, he's talking
about Christ in this gospel age in which we live, that day, the
day of Christ, that gospel message, the gospel day in which you and
I live. And it began with our Savior's
first coming. You know, it tells it here about
our Lord coming and being betrayed by Judas, being betrayed in the
hands and in the house of his friends. Talks about him coming
meek and lowly, riding upon a colt, the foal of an ass when he comes.
That the Lord would raise up that righteous servant, his branch,
the Lord Jesus Christ. That he would build the house,
the foundation, lay the foundation and bring up to the very top
stone and cry grace, grace unto it. He builds the foundation
and puts the top stone on his church, his blessed people, on
this salvation. And so you see, it's the same
message that we're preaching today. And our Savior comes,
and He comes until the end of the world when Christ comes again.
And I do want you to look at this over in chapter 12 and verse
10. Chapter 12 and verse 10. This is a blessed promise that
God does for us, and we've experienced this. This is what I'm talking
about, that when God has mercy on us, this is what He does.
He said, this is one of those days, and he says, and I will
pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem
the spirit of grace and supplication. When you get your grace, you're
going to be a supplicant. You're going to be one crying
out. You're going to be one wanting something, crying out for something.
And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced. Christ talking
about himself here. They shall look upon me whom
they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth
for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one
that is in bitterness for his firstborn." In that day, if you
like it, God's going to give us grace, He's going to give
us repentance, and He's going to do that for His people. Look
over here in chapter 14, it says that in this day there's going
to be a fountain open in chapter 13, verse 1. In that day, in that day, shall be a fountain opened to
the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and uncleanness. And
it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts,
that I cut off the names of all the idols out of the land." There
won't be no more idols left. Nobody won't even know what their
names is. They shall no more be remembered. And I'll call
the prophets that also prophesied, and they have this unclean spirit,
they're going to pass out of the land, because there's going
to be a fountain open for the washing of our sins in the Lord
Jesus Christ. And in this day, our Lord Jesus
Christ is going to fight against everything that's against us.
God's church and His kingdom is going to be saved. and triumphant
under His care and protection as long as we're on the face
of this earth. People say, well, we're in perilous times. We really
are. But God's never left Himself without a witness, and He ain't
fixin' to leave Himself without a witness. I don't care how bad
the world gets. I don't care how dark it gets.
I don't care how wicked it gets. I don't care how sinful it gets,
God's going to protect His people in this world because in that
day, He's promised to do it. And in this day, the purpose
of God will be fully accomplished. Look over here in chapter 14
with me. In that day, God's purpose will be fully accomplished. God's
glory in Christ will be seen. when He defeats all of His enemies
and brings the complete salvation of all of His elect people. Look
at what it says here in verse 16 of chapter 14. And it shall
come to pass that every one that is left of all the nations which
came against you in Jerusalem shall even go up from year to
year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the
Feast of Tabernacles. That Feast of Tabernacles as
they went up once a year. And they went up there and they
made them tents, made them booths. And they would dwell in those
tents and those booths there as a remembrance of God, bringing
them through the wilderness and dwelling in tents as they went
through the wilderness. And dwelling in leaves and trees
cut down and covering their net. And they said, so that's the
Feast of Tabernacles. They went up there once a year
to do that. And it shall be that whosoever will not come up of
all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the
King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And
if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no
rain, there shall be no praying, wherewith the Lord will smite
the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of Tabernacle."
This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of
all nations that come not up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
You don't come worship God, God says, I'm cutting you off. All
the enemies of God will be cut off. And listen to this now.
And in that day, and this is over in Revelation, this is after,
this is it. In that day there shall be upon
the bales of the horses, Holiness unto the Lord, and the pots in
the Lord's house shall be like the mold before the altar. Yea,
every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto
the Lord's host, every stummy and little things like a pot,
God's going to say, that's going to be holy. And all they that
sacrifice shall come and take of them and see therein, and
that day there shall be no more Canaanite in the house of the
Lord of hosts." Everything that's not according to God's holiness
will be put out. going to be put out. And we can
be sure of these things because of old Zerubbabel. Look over
here in chapter 6. Let me show you this. Because of Zerubbabel. We can be sure of these things
because of Zerubbabel. He's a type of our Lord Jesus
Christ, and he does the whole work in chapter 4 and verse 6. Look what it says. Chapter 4
and verse 6. I may have said 6, but I meant
4. In verse 6, look what it says here, ìAnd
then he answered, spake unto me, This is the word of the Lord
unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by
my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.î Then look what he says,
ìWho art thou, O great mountain, brother of Zerubbabel? Thou shalt
become just like a plain.î And he shall bring forth the headstone
thereof with shouting, trying grace, grace unto it. And moreover
the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, The hands of Zerubbabel
hath laid the foundation of this house. His hands shall also finish
it, and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me
unto you." I mean, he started it, he's going to finish it,
and put the top stone on it. And that's why this work's going
to be accomplished, because of our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, let
me see if I can break this down a little bit. Zechariah has two
divisions in his message, two divisions in his message. In
one, he describes the circumstances that they're in right now, the
present condition of Judah and Israel. That's chapter 1, verses
1-8 and 9-14. He talks about the future, the
things that God would do once the temple was finished. And
look what he reminds them of here in chapter 1. The first
thing he reminds them of was that the reason they went into
captivity, the reason that they were taken into Babylon and their
fathers was, was because of their sin, because of the rebellion,
the unbelief of their fathers. You see, God's wrath is the response
of God's justice against sin. God's wrath is His response and
His justice to sin. And I tell you, beloved, we can
see the wrath of God all around us. Justice is going to demand
the punishment of all sin. And wherever there's sin, you
can find the wrath of God. And what an awful thing God can
do for a man is just leave him to himself, and he cannot leave.
He cannot lead himself to his sin. He's got to do something
else with his sin and hurt other people with his sin. He can't
help it. And God's wrath is never arbitrary. But bless His name,
He in wrath always, and He in wrath remembers mercy, which
I'm grateful for. But look what He said here in
chapter 1 and verse 2, and we see that God assures His people.
The Lord hath been so displeased with your fathers. sore displeased
with your fathers. But then he gives them a word
of grace. Therefore they say unto them, Thus saith the Lord
of Hosts, Turn ye unto me, and I will turn unto you, saith the
Lord of Hosts." Huh? He promises that every sinner
that turns to him, he'll turn to that sinner. Because you turn
to me and I'll turn to you. You look to me and I'll look
at you. And so, beloved, he's in the midst of calling people
to repentance. And then he gives them eight
visions. And I don't know how in the world I'm going to deal
with these. They're not very long. But after calling them
to repentance, he gives eight visions. And these visions are
full of comfort and assurance for his people. And the first
one starts right here in verse 8, chapter 1. Four horsemen. I saw by night and behold a man
riding upon a red horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees
that were in the bottom, and behind him there were red horses
speckled and white." So I'll tell you, there's these four
horses, red, speckled, and they come and I saw them riding upon
a horse. Then I said, O my Lord, what are these? And the angel
talked unto me, and said unto me, I will show thee what these
be. And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and
said, These are they whom the Lord hath sent to walk to and
fro through the earth. And, O beloved," and this is
what he says, And they answered the angel, The Lord that stood
among the myrtle trees, we have walked to and fro through the
earth, and, behold, the earth set us still, and is at rest.
What these horses are doing, they're showing Israel that God's
elect are scattered among the nations, but they're not forgotten.
You know what Zechariah's name means? It means God remembers. God remembers. And he said, I
remember, and I'll send these horsemen. They're going to go
out, and they're going to be rest. I'm going to go out and
gather my people, and they're going to be rest. And then over
here in chapter 1, verse 18, look at this. Look in verse 18, we see four
horns and four carpenters. Then lifted up my eyes, and I
saw and beheld four horns. And I said unto the angel that
talked unto me, What are these? And he answered me, These are
the horns which scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. Now he's
talking about these whores like a bull or something. They come
and they pushed Israel and Judah and mistreated them and scattered
them about. And then the Lord showed me four
carpenters. And I said, what in the world do these do? What
are they doing? And he's saying, these are the horns which scattered
Judah, so that no man could lift up his head. But these are come
to fray them, to cast out the horns of the Gentiles which lifted
up their horn over the land of Judah. He said, I've got four
carpenters that's going to destroy these four horns, going to fray
these four horns. And so they didn't know why they
couldn't lift up their head, but I'm going to destroy these
enemies. I'm going to destroy those that made Israel to be
scattered. And they show the nations, these
four horns, the nations and their powers. But then, you know, some
people say these carpenters are gospel preachers. They come,
and God sends to His Word and delivers to His people. I don't
know if that's so or not, but it makes sense to me. I mean,
you know, they're the ones that come and tell the Lord's people
that, you know, God's destroyed all. You might have been scattered,
but God's brought you back, and God's in these gospels destroyed
all of your enemies. And then look over here in chapter
2. Here's a man with a vision. Now, here's the third vision.
A man with a measuring line. And I lifted up my eyes again
and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his
hand. And I said, and this happens also in Revelations, and happened
in Ezekiel. This very same thing. They measured
Jerusalem in Ezekiel chapter 40, and then in Revelations 11,
they measured the city there too. And here he is, he's going
to measure the city. And he come with a measuring
line, and just said, I wear the gorse out. And he said unto me,
to measure Jerusalem, to see what's the breadth thereof, and
the length thereof. And the angel talked with him,
and he went forth, and another angel went out to meet him, and
he said, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall
be inhabited as towns without walls, for the multitude of men
and cattle in this town." He's going to measure it, and he said,
I'm going to fill that place so full of the Lord's people.
God's people are going to come from everywhere, and they're
going to fill this city, and our place is going to be like
a city without walls. That's how many people are coming
in here. And then look what he said in verse 5. For I saith
the Lord will be under her, a wall of fire round about her, and
we'll be the glory in the midst of that city." Don't need no
wall. God's going to be your glory.
God's going to be the fire around you. And then look what he says down
in verse 10. Sing and rejoice, O daughter
of Zion. For lo, I come, and I will dwell
in the midst of thee, saith the Lord, and many nations shall
be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my people. And I dwell in the midst of thee,
and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath set me unto
thee, and the Lord shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy
land, and shall choose Jerusalem. Be silent, O all flesh, before
the Lord. For he has raised up out of his
holy habitation. He's right in the middle of Jerusalem,
right in the middle of all of his people. And he raised up,
and everybody's going to be still, going to be quiet. And then look here at this, at
Joshua, the high priest, chapter 3. Joshua, the high priest in
chapter 3. And he showed me Joshua, the
high priest. standing before the angel of
the Lord. And look what happens. This always happens. And Satan
is standing in his right hand to resist him. An adversary. He's got an adversary. The Lord
said unto Satan, the Lord did this. And every time you find
Satan rebuked in the Scriptures, the Lord is the one that rebukes
him. You never find a preacher or a prophet rebuking him. God
always rebuked him. He rebuked him, and Job, and
he rebuked him, and Luke, and he rebuked him. And Daniel, he
said, the Lord rebuked thee. I'm not going to bring no charge.
The Lord rebuked thee. And the Lord said unto Satan,
the Lord rebuked thee, O Satan, even the Lord hath chosen Jerusalem
rebuked you. Joshua, he's this one, he's a
brand plucked out of the burning. I mean, he was on fire, the fires
of hell was on him, and I'll tell you what, he may be dirt,
but I plucked him out of that fire. Now Joshua's clothed with
filthy garments and stood before the angel. We all stand with
filthy garments before the Lord. Every one of us does until something
happens. Now listen. And he answered and
spake unto those that stood by before him, saying, Take away
the filthy garments from him. He didn't tell Joshua, take them
off, change clothes. He said, take the filthy garments
from him. And unto him he said, behold,
I have called your iniquity passed from thee. And listen to this,
and I will clothe thee with a change of raiment. I'm going to do this.
And I said, set a miter upon his head. So they set a firm
miter upon his head and clothed him with garments. And the angel
of the Lord stood by all night. That's our high priest, cleansed,
clothed, and crowned as the angel of the Lord stood by. That's
us. That can't be our Lord because He never was dirty. And then
look at the vision of the candlesticks. It describes our Lord Jesus Christ,
the light of the world, and the light in the midst of His people,
chapter 4. And the angel that talked with
me came again and waked me as a man that is waking out of a
sleep. And he said unto me, What are you looking at? What do you
see? And I said, I looked, and he said, Behold, there is a candlestick
made of gold, all gold, with a bowl upon the top of it. A
bowl means The place that you know it's got the oil in it,
the little bowl they put the oil in it. You can light that
little bowl with oil in it and put a little wick in it, and
it burns. And seven lamps there, and the
bowl on the top of it, and then here's seven lamps there, all
but seven pipes to the seven lamps which are on the top there.
And oh, beloved, listen. And I tell you, that's what they
have in there. There's this seven, there's that lamp, and that's
the picture of our Lord Jesus Christ as the light of the world,
and He's light in the candlestick of Misty's church. And let me
show you this in chapter 5. Then look here. Here's a flying
scroll. Here's a flying scroll going through. Here's a flying
Word of God going through there. Then I turned and lifted up my
eyes and looked, and behold, a flying roll." Now, when he
talks about a flying roll, he's talking about the scroll. He's
talking about the, you know, the Scriptures in the Old Testament,
Scriptures in the days of our Lord, they were in scrolls. They
opened them up like this and read them. Opened them up a chapter
at a time. But you know, when our Lord Jesus,
His first ministry, the first time He spoke, they handed Him
the scroll of Isaiah. And He opens it up and it goes
out. And so, our Lord, in this sense here, this flying scroll,
here goes the Word of God in a scroll. And he said unto me,
What's this? And I said, I see a flying scroll,
a flying roll, the length there of 20 cubits, the breadth there
of 10 cubits. That's a big flying roll. 20 cubits is, 10 is 18
feet. That's 36 foot. And the other
one's 18 foot. That's 36 by 18. That's a big
scroll. Then he said unto me, This is
the curse. This is what he's talking about. This is the word
of God by which he rules and judges the world. This is the
curse that goes forth over the face of the earth. For everyone
that stealeth shall be cut off on this side according to it,
and everyone that swears shall be cut off on that side of it.
And no matter which way you saw this scroll, it judged you, it
judged you and pronounced condemnation on you is what he's saying. And
I'll bring it forth, said the Lord of hosts, and it shall enter
into the house of the thief. into the house of him that sweareth
falsely by my name, and it shall remain in the midst of his house,
and shall consume it with the timber thereof, and the stones
thereof." You see, that's what this flying scroll is sent to
bring, judgment, and pronounce judgment. And wherever it goes,
it exposes man's sin. That's what he's saying. And then here in chapter 5, in
verse 5, there's something else that goes, a woman with a basket.
And this describes the measure, the full measure of wickedness
for which God will judge the earth, and there's a limitation
by God's decrees and powers. Then the angel who talked with
me went forth and said, Now lift up now thy eyes and see what
is this that goeth forth. And I said, What is this? And
he said, This is an ephah that goeth forth. He said, Moreover,
this is the resemblance to all the earth, and behold, there
was lifted up a talon of lead, a great weighty piece. And this
is a woman that sinneth in the midst of the ephah. And that
ephah is a basket. It's a measurement. And he said
this wickedness, and he cast it into the midst of the ephah,
and he cast away the lead upon the mount there. And what he's
saying here is, he says, you know, this is how wicked people
are. I'm going to put it in this basket.
I'm going to measure. I'm going to lay all this weight in this
basket, and it'll be the wickedness. And he said this in verse 8,
this is the wickedness, and he put it in that basket. Then I
lifted up my eyes, and behold, there came out two women, and
the wind was in their wings. For they had wings like the wings
of a stork, and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and
the heaven. Then I said to the angel that
taught me, Women, do these bear the ephah, the basket? And he
said unto me, The building, the house, and the land are shining,
and it shall be established, and set thereupon the base, until
God's decree is accomplished, and the wickedness is full and
measured, so this shall be the judgment." And then look in chapter
6, let me give you another one here right quick. Here's the
8th vision, the last vision. Four chariots and men riding
in them. And I looked up, my eyes lifted up, my eyes looked
and behold me, there came four chariots. And they came out from
between two great big mountains. And the mountains were mountains
of brass. Brass always speaks of judgment.
always speaks of judgment. And in the first chariot were
red horses, in the second chariot black horses, third chariot white
horses, the fourth chariot grizzled and bay horses. And I said unto
the angel that talk with me, What are these, my lord? And
the angel answered, These are the four spirits of the heavens,
which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.
And what are they going to do? They're standing before the Lord.
They're standing before God. They go out before spirits, go
to north, south, east, and west, and which way they go. And it
tells you which way they go. And they sent from the presence
of the Lord to punish and patrol and punish evil. And they went,
the bay went, look in verse 7, the bay went forth and sought
to go that they might walk to and fro through the earth, and
said, Go henceforth and walk through. to and fro through the
earth, so they walked to and fro. And then he spake unto me,
and then he cried and spake unto me, saying, Behold, these that
go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north
country. They go forth from the presence of the Lord to patrol
the earth and punish evil on the earth." And let me tell you
this, I'm trying to wind this up. I tell you there's a lot
in this book. You need to read this. You need
to read this on your own. These 14 chapters, just sit down
one day this week when you get a chance and read it, and I think
it'll be a great blessing to you. There's more direct prophecies
concerning our Lord Jesus in the book of Zechariah than any
other Old Testament book except Isaiah. There's more prophecies
concerning our Lord Jesus Christ in this other than the book of
Isaiah. First of all, Christ is the man
who measures his church. He's the one who went out with
that line. Christ our Lord is the angel who commands the salvation
of his people. He sent him for it to do. Christ
is the servant of God whom he'll send. And look here in chapter
6 and verse 12. Christ is called the Branch,
and speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, saying,
Behold the man whose name is the Branch. And he shall grow up out of his
place, and he shall build the temple of the Lord. And even
he shall build the temple of the Lord, and listen to this,
he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne,
and he shall be a priest upon his throne. And listen to this,
I love this, and the counsel of peace shall be between them
both. God calls this counsel of peace.
And oh beloved, Christ is called the Branch. Our Redeemer here
is called the foundation stone upon which God builds His church
and His kingdom. Christ is our all-glorious God
and Savior who will remove the iniquity of the land in that
one day. Our Lord Jesus is Tempathite
and Zerubbabel. Our Lord Jesus is the priest
upon His throne who builds His temple. The glory of it maintains
peace for us. It's Christ who came riding upon
a colt. full of an ass. It's Christ who
will save His flock and make us stones in the crown of His
glory. And you read through here and
you'll find out it's the Lord Jesus who was betrayed by His
own friend. You read in here in chapter 14,
it is Christ whose hands were pierced You can read about Christ
being best found open for cleansing. Christ our Lord is the God-man,
and He's the Good Shepherd who gives His life for His sheep. And I'll tell you, this prophecy
is full of pictures of God saving grace in Christ. Joshua is a
perfect picture of that. When we come to God, Satan always
resists us, always stands at our right hand. God rebukes him,
and God cleanses us, and God takes off the garments, and God
closes us, and with His righteousness. And oh, beloved, and let me show
you this in chapter 8 and verse 17. God's elect. Here's a prophecy
regarding the sure salvations of God's elect. Look what is
said here in chapter 8 and verse 17. Thus saith the Lord of Hosts,
Behold, I'll save my people." Save my people. Folks don't like
to hear that, my people. They say, well, He wants to save
everybody. Well, He didn't say here He's going to save everybody.
He said, I'm going to save my people. I'm going to save them
from the east and I'm going to save them from the west. I'll
bring them and they shall dwell in Jerusalem, in the midst of
Jerusalem. And listen to this, they shall be my people, and
oh, this is it right here, and I will be their God. in truth
and righteousness. I'll be their God in truth and
righteousness. And then look what else it says
here. And I'll tell you what, I'm talking about prisoners of
hope. Look in chapter 9, verse 12. Oh, this is what He says
He's going to do for us who are prisoners of hope. And that's
what we are. We're hopers. He said in Zechariah
9, verse 12, Turn ye to the stronghold, ye prisoners of hope. Even today
I declare that I will render double unto thee. I'll give you
double. I will give you double what you
lost. You prisoners of hope, you turn to your stronghold.
I'll give you double. I'm going to not only pay for
your sins, but I'm going to give you righteousness. I'm not only
going to cleanse you from your iniquity, but I'm going to also
establish you in my blessed grace. And I tell you, beloved, God's
saving grace is effectual, irresistible. Look in chapter 10, verse 6.
It's effectual. And I will strengthen the house
of Judah. I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them
again to place them, for I have mercy upon them, and they shall
be as though I had not ever cast them off, for I am the Lord their
God. Oh, mine! They of Ephraim shall
be like a mighty man, the heart shall rejoice his throat with
wine, yea, their children shall see and be glad, the heart shall
rejoice. And I will hush for them and
gather them. That means that He'll make a noise that only
His people can hear. For I have redeemed them, and
they shall increase as they have increased. Oh, God's going to
save them by His grace. And oh, beloved, I tell you what,
you know, Zechariah speaks of the glory that will be ours when
the Lord Jesus Christ comes. When we go up to worship in the
Feast of Tabernacles, Feast of Faith in Christ, And we go up
there and we remember and we worship our God in that temple
forever and ever. And we'll rejoice in our Lord
Jesus Christ when the bells on the horses shall say, Holiness
unto the Lord. Holiness unto the Lord. And in
chapter 14, let me show you this. I know you're tired, but let
me show you this. This tells us of heaven's glory and blessings.
There shall be no more darkness. Look what it says in verse Chapter 6, there will be no more
darkness, and it shall come to pass in that day that the light
shall not be clear nor dark, but it shall be one day which
shall be known to the Lord, not day or night, that it shall come
to pass that at evening time it shall be light. Oh, we're
going to a place of no more darkness. Then look in verse 8, there'll
be no more winter in that place. And it shall be in that day that
living water shall go out from Jerusalem, half of them toward
the former sea, half of them toward the inner sea, in summer
and in winter shall it be." It won't be as if there's no winter
at all. It'll be like summer, and whether
it's summer or winter, well, you know, it's different. And
then, no more thirst in verse 8. Again, he says, you know,
living water shall go out. Living waters. Christ is that
living water. No more thirst. and no more unbelief. And we'll worship and keep the
Feast of Tabernacles. It says that we'll come up to
Jerusalem from year to year and worship our God, worship the
Lord Jesus Christ. And there behold us, I mean,
the simplest things there will be holy. You say, well, go pot. If he says a pot's going to be
holy, watch it. He said, watch it, cook your meals in it. God
said it'll be holy. He said, you'll come up and get
your food, you'll cook it in that sieve, in that pot. That pot
that you put in there, go behold. Everything in that place, go
behold. Behold. Our Father, and the blessed Lord
Jesus Christ, we come before you as humble as we can be in
this flesh, acknowledging your great grace and great power,
your wondrous mercy that upholds us, keeps us, and preserves us.
And I pray that you take what's been said tonight and use it
to your glory and the good of your people. There's so much to cover with
such a little time. And so, Lord, if you'd be pleased
to use it, we'd bless you. And I know if you don't use it,
it'll be ineffectual. So I pray you use it to your
glory and our good. In our Lord Jesus' name we pray.
Amen. See you Sunday morning. God willing.
