Chapter 7. The title of my message today is
The Greatest Faith in Israel. The Greatest Faith in Israel. Verse 10 verses. Now, when he
had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he
entered into Capernaum. What he has done, he has just
got through finishing the Sermon on the Mount. And over in Matthew
it says that he was met by two lepers when he came down from
death. And then the story of the centurion, that he had just
finished the Sermon on the Mount, and a certain centurion's servant,
who was dear unto him, was sick and ready to die. And when he
heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jew, beseeching
him that he would come and heal his servant. And when they came
to Jesus, they besaw him instantly, saying that he was worthy for
whom he should do this. For he loveth our nation, and
he hath built us a synagogue. Then Jesus went with them, and
when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent
friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself, for
I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof. Wherefore,
neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee, but say in
a word, and my servant shall be healed. For I also am a man
set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one,
Go, and he goeth, and to another, Come, and he cometh, and to my
servant, Do this, and he doeth it. When Jesus heard these things,
he marveled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the
people that follow him, I say unto you, I have not found so
great faith, no, not in Israel. And that was sent, returning
to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick." When God gives faith, when God
gives a soul faith, that's the most blessed gift. Oh, when He
gives you faith, And it brings what it does, when God gives
a man faith, it brings invisible things into view. Things that
are not seen, you can now see them. Things you didn't understand,
you can now understand them. Things you couldn't believe,
you now can believe. Hopes you didn't have, now you do. And
what it does is this faith that God gives us, like he talked
about this man having this great faith, It carries us out of ourselves. Faith carries us out of ourselves.
And it carries us to things that are absent. And they're made
now to appear present. They're made to appear present.
The things that are absent now appear present. Right there with
us. And that's the way this man was
here. Christ had never appeared, but he was present as far as
his faith was concerned. And what did our Lord Jesus Christ
say about faith? He said, all things are possible.
All things are possible to him that what? Believeth. I can't
remember where it's at right now, but I remember, I think
it's over in Matthew 9 or 10, where some men came to him to
be healed. And he said, do you believe that
I'm able to do this? Do you believe I'm able? And they said, yes, Lord, we
believe he's able. He said, so be it unto you. Do you believe
he's able? And here what we have, what our
Lord gave us, is this Roman centurion. He's a soldier. He's a leader. He's a man of war. He's a practical
man. And how he deals and how he views
and speaks and treats our Lord Jesus Christ is so different
than the way he's viewed and treated by people today and even
by the way we were when we were unconverted. And it's refreshing
to see how he deals with it and how he reacts to the Lord Jesus
Christ. So I'm talking about a practical
man. Is his servant sick? Does he just go in there and
say, oh, I'm so sorry. I pity you so much. Did he go
in there and do that? He said, I wish there's something
I could do for you. No, no. You know what he does?
He sins for the position. He sins for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Service sick. He didn't say, oh, I'm so sorry
for you, I wish I could do something for you. No, no, he didn't talk
about it. He didn't talk about his pity
and how sorry he felt for him. He sinned for the position. Does
he love the Jewish nation? That's what he says back up here
in verse 5. Does he love the Jewish nation? For he loveth
our nation. Well, he don't just say it, but
he does something about it. He has built us a synagogue,
a place where we can gather to worship. So you see, he loves
the Jewish nation. It's not in words, it's not in
deed. And he don't pity the servant and talk about his great pity,
but he sins for the physician. And he doesn't speak of his faith.
But he shows it in a way that makes the Lord Jesus self him
marvel at the simplicity and greatness of it. Look out again
there in verse 8. For I also am a man set under
authority, and I have under me soldiers.
And I say unto one, go, and he goes to another, come, and he
cometh to my servant, do this, and he does it. Here's a man
who was used to giving orders. and having authority, and having
power. And when he said something to
somebody, they did it. Like God. He understood God's
authority, the sovereignty of God, and God's right, and God's
power. You know, if a soldier says,
I ain't going to do that, do you know what happened to him?
If a servant said, I'm not going to obey, do you know what happened
to him? So these fellas didn't, you know,
when he understood what it was to have power, to have authority,
and have people obey Him. And our Lord Jesus said when
He heard these things, He marveled at Him. He marveled at Him. He understands authority. He
understands power. He understands the power of a
word. And then look what He says in
this. And our Lord marveled at Him and turned Him about and
all the people that were around Him and said, and followed Him,
said, I say unto you, I've been all the way from And I know men,
and I know people, and I know what's in their hearts, and I
know what they think, and I know what they feel, and I know where
they're at. And he said, I've not found so great a faith. No,
not in Israel. Not in Israel. So you see, beloved,
he marveled at his simplicity and greatness. And look how this
man reacts. In verse 7, look at his logic,
his reason, how practical he is. He says, Wherefore neither
thought I myself worthy to come unto you. But he said, I know
this about you. If I can tell people to do something
and they do it, if you speak a word, if you just say a word,
say in a word, just a word, and my servant shall be healed. You
don't even have to come. I also am a man under authority.
If I can say by my word what somebody ought to do, it's amazing
what you can do. That's what he's saying here.
So here this man says, I'm just a man, and I have authority,
and the soldiers obey me, and my men obey me, and my service
obey me. You have all authority. You have
all power. You just speak and it'll be done.
And, oh, beloved, it even said, not among the Jews. Have I seen
such a faith? Let's look at this faith of this
man. Let's look at what the gospel, right here in these verses, right
before our very eyes. First of all, we see the servant's
need. Look in verse 2. We see the servant's need. And
a certain... You know, they don't give us
this man's name. His name don't matter. That's what he said about
himself. I'm nobody. I'm not worthy. And
here a certain centurion's servant who was dear unto him was sick
and ready to die. His servant's knee, look at him,
look at his condition. He's absolutely helpless. He
was sick. And this sick, he was a bond
slave. He was owned by another man.
And he had been blessed with many favors. He had a good master. He had a, his centurion treated
him well. He was surrounded with the mercies,
great mercies for a slave. But even though he was just a
bond slave, and though he was just a servant, and he was unable
to help himself. And look what he said about him.
He said, this centurion's servant who was dear unto him. This man
was dear unto him. And he wasn't able to do anything.
The servant wasn't able to do anything. Blessed with all, how
many favors he is blessed. The centurion loved this man,
dear unto him, but it done him no good. So all day long he was
utterly unable to do anything for himself. And look what his
sin said, he was sick. Sick, helplessly sick. And you
know why? I'll tell you something, this
is the way I look at it. He was sin sick. Sin sick. Not only was he sick, but he
was sin sick. You know, our Lord Jesus Christ, He always and God
always treated sin as a disease. Always as a disease. And every
type that He used in the scriptures about sin, it was a disease that
was incurable. And sin always brought death.
They said He was sick, nile into death. And wherever sin's at,
it's always going to bring forth death. And sin, beloved, that's
what brings us to sickness, that's what brings us to inability. And this man was helplessly sick. And I'll tell you something,
I'll tell you, here's what most preachers would have told us.
They'd say, get up, get up, get off this sick bed. Exercise your thing. Get up here
and walk. Do some exercises. Doctor that
went in there said you do this, you do that other thing. Get
out of bed, get your strength back, eat a good meal, and you'll
be alright. Just start, you know, do some
exercises. But this man was helplessly sick. And I tell you, you could have
told him, said, I tell you what you do, you can earn your health
back if you'll pray this amount. You can earn your health back,
get your health back, if you'll do certain works. If you'll have
some kind of effort. But this man was ready to die
and is sick unto death, and what in the world can he do for himself? Men's got to understand this,
or they never understand anything else in this world. Man's got
to understand he's like this fellow here. He is utterly, utterly
unable to get up by himself. His hope was gone. And not only that, but he was
in great, great misery. Matthew 8, verse 6, it says there
that the centurion says, My servant is grievously, grievously tormented. So whatever sickness he had,
it was a torment to him. It was a great aggravation to
him. It was torment to his mind. It
was torment to his spirit. It was a torment to his heart. And lots and lots of people are
helpless, utterly, utterly helpless, but they're not aware of it. They're unaware of it. But this
man wasn't aware. He was aware of it. He was aware
of how helpless he was. This servant understood how helpless
he was. And I'll tell you now, beloved,
when a soul is convinced of sin, When a soul is convinced of their
sin and their guilt, they'll be grievously tormented too.
I wish God would come and grievously torment some folks here. I wish
God would come and put people on their bed. I would that he'd
come among folks here and make them understand how awful and
corrupt and sinful they are and make them feel the guilt and
the torment of what it is to be a sinner before God. And their wives can't help them.
Their husbands can't help them. Mommy can't help them. The children
can't help them. The wife can't help them. And
if you get to the place where nobody can do something for you,
and you understand your guilt, you understand your sin, oh,
may God torment you over your sin till you do what this fellow
done. I'll do what this centurion done.
Lord, we got a fellow over here, he's sick. Don't come to me,
I can't heal you. Lord, We've got a fellow here
and he's grievously tormented. I believe the Lord comes to him,
don't you? And let me tell you something, this, beloved, it's
better to be tormented over your sin here, than to be tormented with them
through all eternity. Because you certainly will be. And I'd rather face my sins. You know the scripture says,
some men's sins are gone beforehand, and some men's sins go with them.
Well, my sins gone beforehand. My sins ain't gonna go with me
where I'm going. Mine's gonna go on the farm. Mine ain't gonna follow me. They
can't go where I go. They can't go where we don't
go. Can't go. They just can't go. Oh, you can't go. I want to know
where you can't go. Why? They go before him. Huh? Oh, beloved, don't beg for me.
If God tore me into over your sins here, you got a remedy for
them. If you die without Christ, there'll
be no remedy for your sin. You'll be tormented through all
eternity. And then look at here, look at the immediate danger
of this man. It says here in verse two, not only was he sick,
and he was dear to the sinner, but it says he was ready to die. He was ready to die. He was just
a little way from death's door. His disease led him right to
the brink of eternity, led him right to the brink of that abyss,
right to the brink of that place where you don't come back from,
right to that long hole that you go to. And as he lays there,
ready to die, all the power and all the wisdom of man is as impotent
as he is. But what can anybody do for him? Call the philosophers. Call the
PhDs. Call the preacher. Call the evangelists. Call the rabbi. Call the priest.
Call the Pope! And nobody can do anything for
him. Ready to die. Ready to die. Are you ready to die? I mean,
are you ready? If the Lord says, now, tomorrow,
next week, next month, are you ready to die? Can you say, the Lord hath made
with me an everlasting covenant ordered in all things, and sure, And this is all my desire? Can you say the Lord hath loved
me with an everlasting love, and with cords of lovingkindness
hath drawn me? Can you say the Lord bore my
sins in His own body on the tree, and I bear them no more? Can
you say the Lord Jesus Christ came and took out the stony heart
and put in a heart of flesh? Can you say the Lord Jesus Christ
made a new creature out of me? Can you say the Lord Jesus Christ
took away all my guilt and all my shame and all my sin and I
can look now to Him and I tell you I can take His satisfaction
and what He rendered to God is my pillar? Are you ready? Oh my, when is a man ready to
die? Not till Christ comes and makes
you to know Him. Not till Christ comes. And you
got to know Him. You got to know Him. And that's
what happens here. Now watch what happens. Look
what happens now. It says there, look at this centurion,
listen to what he pleads. You see, that servant couldn't
do anything for himself. And he interceded, this centurion
interceded on the behalf of his servant. And look what it says
in verse 3. And when he heard of Jesus, when
he... Oh, listen, there's a man. Jesus of Nazareth. You know what
He's doing? He's cleansing lepers. I just
heard about two lepers that met Him. And He cleansed them of
their lepers just by speaking to them. And He said, go and
show the priests or let the law know that I've cleansed you.
Let the priests know that I've cleansed you. Let the law say
that therefore I have no condemnation, no more sin in you. And when
he heard of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I tell you, beloved, faith
cometh with hearing. Oh, listen, how do you get faith? Faith comes by you hearing. Hearing. He heard of the Lord Jesus Christ. He heard of what He did. He heard
of who He is. He heard about what they said
about Him. That this is the Messiah. This
is the Christ. This is the one that God said
would do the signs and the wonders and the healings and save people
from their sins. And listen, faith comes by hearing
it. You know what this fellow did? He believed what he heard. Do you believe what you hear?
Do you believe what you heard about him? Do you? I believe everything I know about
him. And what I don't know about him, eternity won't even tell
all that there is to know about him. And, Lord, beloved, he believed
of him, and he heard of him, and he called on him. And let
me ask you this. Have you heard with those hearing
ears? My Lord looked up to Zacchaeus
and said, Zacchaeus, come down. And why was Zacchaeus up that
tree? because he heard of Jesus and he wanted to see Him. Why did Mary come to Him with
those seven devils? Because she heard of Him. Why
did those lepers come to Him when He came down off the mountain?
Because they heard of Him. Why did it say over there in
Luke chapter 11, when they have knowledge of Him, they brought
everybody that was sick and everybody that was diseased and laid them
at the Lord Jesus Christ's feet, because they heard of Him. And
everybody that hears of Him, I mean really hears, they call
on Him. They call on Him. What happens
now? And He sent the elders of the Jews. And listen to this
centurion's prayer. Look what he said. He sent, when
he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching
him. Do you see that? Beseeching him.
Now this is a fellow that ain't never asked anybody for anything.
He tells people what to do. Now he's asking. He's beseeching. And he says this, would he come
and heal my servant? Heal my servant. And I'll tell
you, beloved, it was in earnest. It was earnest. He was teaching
him. He sent the Jews, the elders
of the Jews. And you know what will make you earnest? Anxiety. You know what will make
you anxious and heartfelt? When you love somebody. It will
make you sympathetic. It will make you loving, make
you compassionate. And it will make you cry out to Christ. And
that's what this fella did. He said, Lord, he didn't go himself. He sent them. You see, he loved
his servant. And I'll tell you what happened,
buddy. If you've got love in your heart, it'll warm up your
prayers. If you've just got old cold formalism,
save your bread to cool your coffee, as Floyd used to say.
If you've got love in your heart, it'll warm up your prayers, won't
it? It'll warm them up, make them earnest. It may not be nothing
but the Lord. It may not be nothing but Jesus.
It may not be nothing but have mercy. But it'll warm, it'll
make that heart come out of a hot heart. It'll do that. Won't it?
And, oh, beloved, not only was he earnest, but he was humble.
Look what he said in verse 6. Well, they went and it says in
verse 4, when they came to Jesus, they besought Him instantly,
just like that fellow asked them to. And they said this, that
he was worthy for whom he should do this, for he loves our nation,
and he hath built us a synagogue. But then Jesus went with him,
and then he is now not far from the house of Centurion, sent
friends to him. First it was the Jews, now it's
friends, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not yourself. I'm not worthy that you should
enter unto my house. Neither thought I myself worthy
to come to thee. He's humble. I'm not worthy.
I'm not worthy. The Lord hadn't even got there
yet. He sent his friends. There was no presumptions here.
There was no presumption here. No, you owe me. No, I've been
a good man. No, I built this synagogue. All
these Jews have the highest respect for me. I give a lot of money. I do a lot of praying. I do a
lot of good in my life. There was no presumption here.
No, you owe me. No, my rights. No, no. I'm not even worthy for you to
come under the roof of my house, and I'm not even worthy to come
to you myself. And I remember when I first come
to Christ, and I've told you this before, but the first time
I ever battled, I don't know if you've ever been
around an old mangy dog that's wet and stinking. They're just
awful like that. Oh, you can't stand them. They
stink so bad, they're wet. And it made you, and it got an
awful smell to it. Well, that's what I was when
I first went to Christ. That's what I said. I said, Lord, I'm such a sorry... I'm like
a dog. I'm like a dog, a sorry dog.
And You absolutely owe me nothing. I remember, I said, Lord, You
owe me nothing. But if You will, if You will,
Have mercy on me. Have mercy on me. And you know,
I've still come the same way I've come the first time. Have
mercy on me. Have mercy on me. Everybody else
said he was worthy, but he didn't. Everybody else bragged on him,
but he didn't brag on himself. Everybody else told what works
he done, but he never mentioned the one for himself. Let another's mouth praise Thee. Herman says, like that fellow
said, if you don't toot his horn, nobody will toot his own horn.
So if you got toot his own horn, nobody will toot it. But I tell
you, beloved, this fellow, everybody says, oh, he's worthy. He said,
I'm not. He built a synagogue. He never
mentioned it. They bragged on the things that
he did. He never said anything good about himself. What have
we got that we didn't receive? What do we know that he didn't
teach us? What do we possess that he didn't
give us? And, oh, beloved, he didn't believe
he had good works or merit or worth as the Lord coming to his
house. And that's why the Lord Jesus Christ says, as he told
Saul, he said, as long as Saul, King Saul, was little in his
own eyes, the Lord exalted him. But when he got proud, God put
him down. Then not only was he earnest,
but look what he was, he was humble. And he was humble, said,
I'm not worthy. And then he had faith. He believed.
Look what he said in verse seven. Wherefore neither thought I myself
worthy to come unto thee, but say in a word, And my servant
shall be healed. Just say a word. Don't move. Don't move. Don't move, Lord.
You don't have to move. And He don't have to move. We
don't have to bring Him. And you don't have to come there. Are you sick? All it takes is
Christ saying the word. You don't have to come back where
you are. And you don't have to come back up. He said, the servant
don't have to get off his bed. You don't have to come to house.
He says, just all you got to do, just speak. And let me say something about
faith. Faith always has to do with the word of God, always
has to do with what God said, is satisfied with what God said.
is satisfied with God. Abraham, we said this about Abraham,
that he was staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief,
but was strong in faith, being persuaded that what he had promised,
he was able also to perform. Now, you believe he's able to
perform what he promised? And that's why our Lord says,
Heaven and earth will pass away, but one thing will never change
in this world, and that's my word. And beloved, if there's
anything in this world, and I've said this before, if the scripture
says that Jonah swallowed the whale, I believe that instead
of the whale swallowing Jonah. Whatever this blessing book says,
I believe it. I have no problem with it. In fact, where would you be without
it? Where would be our comfort? Where
would be our strength? Where would be our guide? Who
would be our teacher? Who would be our instructor?
What would be our life? What would be our comfort? It's
this blessed book. This precious Word. And when
he said, all you've got to do is say the Word. And that's what
we believe now. We believe the Word of God. We
believe what Christ said. Look, now you keep Luke 7 and
go over to John chapter 6 with me, just a minute. John chapter
6. Look with me in verse 63. Let
me tell you something about faith. Faith doesn't need signs. I know
of a young woman whose father passed away here
a few months ago. Died of a drug overdose. And she keeps crying, she keeps
crying, Daddy, give me a sign, you're okay. Give me a sign,
you're okay. Give me a sign, you're okay. There ain't gonna be no signs
coming. Faith does not need a sign. I don't need a sign that God
exists. I don't need a sign that God's
for me. I don't need a sign that everything's going to be alright.
I don't need a sign that things are going to come out alright.
Lord, I'm not going to say, you know, open this verse of Scripture
to me. Give me this kind of a sign. If you're for me, will you do
this thing there and make me know that? We don't need no signs.
Now, I need a sign for directions if I'm on the highway, and I
need a sign to get me somewhere. But I don't need no signs from
God. I know exactly which way to go. I know how to go. I know
directions to go. I've got everything I need in
His book. And oh, listen to what he said
here. And oh, faith doesn't need signs. Look what he said in verse
63, John 6, 63. It is the Spirit that quickens. The Holy Spirit that takes dead
sinners and quickens. The flesh, the prophet, is nothing.
The words, listen to this, the words that I speak unto you,
they are Spirit, and they are life. Life goes with His Word. But there are some of you that
believe not. You don't believe a word I say.
For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not
and who should betray. And he said, therefore said I
unto you, no man can come unto me except it were given unto
him of my father. From that time, many of his disciples
went back and walked no more with him. He said, I can't believe. He
said, I have to have faith given to me. If I come to Him, He's
got to give me the power. If I come to Him, He's got to
give me the sight. If I come to Him, He's got to
give me the ability. If I come to Him and follow Him,
He's got to give it to me. You mean my works, and my following,
my praying, and my trying to do the best I can won't be able
to follow Jesus? That's what he says. You can't
come unless my Father gives you that faith, gives you that sight,
gives you that life. It's the Spirit that quickens.
Now watch this. Then Jesus looked at the twelve. You gonna go? I love his words. I love this. Then Simon Peter answered him,
Lord, to whom shall we go? Now listen. Thou hast the words
of eternal life. Our Lord Jesus, when He prayed
John 17, He says, Father, I have given them Thy word, and they
received it. They took them. He said, they're
mine. Now back over to Luke 7 with me just a moment. Faith doesn't
need science. Faith doesn't even need feelings.
What's your feelings this morning? What's your feelings? What does
your feelings have to do with your relationship with God right
now? What does your feelings have to do with faith? What does
your feelings have to do right now with God? I don't have to feel something
to know I believe. I don't have to feel something to believe
the Bible, do you? You know, most of the time, I
don't feel very good. Most of the time, I certainly
don't feel holy or devoted. When's the last time you felt
like you was... You know, you hear people talk about their
devotions, and everybody ought to have their devotions. They
ought to have the time to read scriptures and pray and read a morning or
evening by Spurgeon or something. Everybody ought to have devotion.
But do you feel devoted? That's what I'm talking about.
We don't need that. Faith doesn't need that. We don't trust them. But I tell you what we do believe.
Our Lord Jesus Christ and His precious Word. And then look
how our Savior responded. Look how our Savior responded.
Back over here in our text now. And when Jesus, verse nine, and
after he had heard everything that was said, you know, our
Lord went with them. Just as quick as they asked Him
to, He went with them. Not far from the house, in verse
six, that centurion sent the prince and stopped him. He was
close to the house. He might have been able to throw a rock
at him. And when Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned
about, and said unto them that followed him, I have not found
so great faith, though not in Israel." Our Lord Jesus' response
was very prompt. Jesus went with him the minute
they asked Him. And I tell you, wherever our Lord goes, you know
what goes with Him? Grace goes with Him. Truth goes
with Him. Life goes with Him. Everything
that God has for a sinner goes with our Lord Jesus Christ. Everything
goes with Him. And I'll tell you something else,
he never ever gets there too late. And he never ever gets
there too soon. Have you ever known him to be
late? Never late. Never there too soon. And oh, beloved, he not only,
he went with them just like that, promise. But he was so encouraging
to this man. He said, I found not so great
a faith all in all of Israel. He marveled at this faith. And
I'll tell you something, beloved, we cannot believe too strongly. We cannot believe too strongly.
Our faith can never be too strong. It just can't be. And then not
only that, but it was effectual. Look in verse 10. And they that were sent, returning
to the house, found the servant whole that had been sent. And the man went out and said,
Lord, just send your word. Just send Your Word. And He healed him. You keep that. Look with me over in Psalm 107.
Just a minute. Psalm 107, verse 20. Look what
he said over here. You think this is something God
does all the time. You know, if He heals you of
your sin, you know how He does it? He sends His Word. If He
comforts you, how does He do it? He does it with His Word. If He lifts you up from your
depression, He does it by His Word. If He chastises you, He'll
do it by His Word. If He rebukes you, He'll do it
by His Word. If He instructs you in righteousness, He'll do
it by His Word. He'll send His Word. He'll send His Word. Psalm
107, verse 20. Well, look in verse 19. Then
they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and He saith unto them
out of their distresses, He sent His Word. and healed them, and
delivered them from the destructions." How? See His Word. Look at the
next verse. Oh, that man. We praise the Lord
for His goodness and for His wonderful works to the children
of men. That's what we'll do right now.
We'll praise the Lord for His wonderful works and His goodness
to the sons and children of men. We'll do that right this minute.
Won't we? We'll bless His holy name. And
our beloved, that's why Paul said, you know, he said, I had
the sentence of death in myself. But he says, I believe. Trusted in the Lord, who is able,
able to say. You see, beloved, I'll tell you
something about his word. You remember when they was in
that ship and that storm came up and they woke him up and said,
Master cares that I'm not prepared. You know what he done? He used
words, he said, peace, be still, calm down, just like that. Master, if you'd been here last,
my brother wouldn't have died. He said, oh, he's going to live
again. Oh, I know the resurrection. No, no, no, he's going to live
right today. He that believeth me shall live. Now, what did
he say? It's in his words, last verse. What happened to him? He that
was dead came forth. Paul was on that ship in shipwreck,
14 days. He was tossed to and fro. Everybody thought we were all
going to die. The Lord Jesus appeared to him
one night on that ship and said, Saul or Paul be in good cheer.
He said, you're going to be saved and everybody in this ship. Paul
got up in front of that old boat and he said, listen, The Lord
said, this is going to save every single one of us. We're going
to lose a ship, but we're all going to be saved. And He said,
Sirs, I believe as He has showed me and as He has told me. I believe. And He come one night walking
on the water. And His disciples looked over
there, and here's the middle of the night, and there's the
Lord Jesus come walking on the water. And oh, they got so afraid,
they said, oh, it's a ghost, it's a ghost, it's a ghost, it's
a spirit. And our Lord got real, real close. Simon Peter said,
Lord, if that's You, if that's You, tell me to come to You. He said, come, immediately. He got out of that boat and walked
on that water. And then, you know, that storm kept coming,
and He'd come on them. And they got up there close to
Him, and He said, be of good cheer. It is I. Be a good cheerer. It is I. We can be a good cheerer, the
team. Huh?
