He trusted in God. He trusted in God. When he was most alone. Cast out by all men. Condemned, mocked, ridiculed, spat upon, beaten, bruised, he trusted in God and his faith held true to the end, even at that hour. When God poured out his wrath upon him and the darkness came upon the earth, the light of the sun was taken away and there was darkness for three hours upon the face of the earth as Christ bore the sins of his people, as he was made sin for them that they should be made the righteousness of God in him. Even in the darkness, when he cries out, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? He still trusted in God. Alone. And yet by faith, not alone.
