The Lord knew their hearts. And he said, you seek me not because you saw the miracles, but because you did eat of the loaves and were filled. Labor not for the meat that perisheth, but for that which endureth unto eternal life. And really the Lord's emphasis was don't go after the blessings, but go after the blesser, after he who has given you the blessings. For the greater blessing is realized that the God of heaven has blessed us.
