I invite you to turn back with
me now to Hebrews chapter 11. Hebrews 11 is called by those
who teach the Scriptures, the faith chapter. Some call it the
roll call of faith because it names so many names. But in this
chapter, faith is defined. You won't find a better explanation
of faith than you find in the book of Hebrews chapter 11. And this faith is example. It's
not left us to wonder what is faith, how does faith work, what
does faith do in the man who possesses it. It examples that
faith. And it shows its effects on the
lives of those who truly possess it. The chapter takes in believers
of all ages, young men, old men, middle-aged men. It takes in
people of different sexes. It talks about Sarah. It talks
about Abraham. And it talks about all these
different periods of time. All of these things are all considered
in what is called by these teachers the faith chapter. And then we
see its application plainly applied to all areas of the believer's
life. And I recommend to you that you
read this whole chapter carefully, and then examine yourselves in
the light of it. See whether you be in the faith. Isn't that what Paul tells us
to do? See. See for yourself. Don't wait
on a committee somewhere to say, well, you're a believer now because
you passed the test. Examine yourselves in the light
of these things and see if you be in effect. Now, Hebrews 11
is a rather large chapter. It takes in a lot of men, a lot
of ages, covers even the martyrs. It talks about them in Hebrews
chapter 11. It talks about Old Testament
saints and New Testament saints. And it's just an impossibility
to cover this whole chapter with the time allotted here on Sunday
morning. But in verses 8 through 10, this
is where I want you to concentrate with me this morning, your attention.
We're given a brief history of a man named Abraham. We're told in the Scriptures,
just hold your place there and let me say a few more things.
We're told in the Scriptures that this man Abraham believed
God. That's what it says. It says
it just that way. Abraham believed God. Boy, wouldn't you like to see
in the Word of God your name inserted there? Huh? Richard believed God. Oh, my soul. Divinely inspired. Inerrant. Russell Sanders believed
God. Wouldn't you like to know that? Abraham believed God. And he
was not only a believer, but he has the particular distinction
of being called in the Scripture, the father of all them that believe. Here is a man set forth in the
Scripture for the distinct purpose of exampling the faith of God's
elect, this man Abraham. He's called in Romans chapter
4, verse 11, the father of all them that believe. We're also
told that the things which God moved the writers of Scripture
to record about him were not written for his sake alone. but
for us also, to whom this righteousness was imputed, who yet shall believe. And equally so concerning Enoch,
and Noah, and Sarah, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all those recorded
here in Hebrews chapter 11. In Romans chapter 15 verse 4
it said, Whatsoever things were written aforetime were written
for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures
might have hope. Now I said all that to say this,
Abraham sets before us the character and mind of a true believer. Men love to debate about things. They love to argue about it.
They love to get together and debate. A true believer does
this. A true believer does that. You
can always know a true believer because he does this and he does
that. God sets before us in His inspired volume a man that we
know believed God. who is set apart for the distinct
purpose for us to know the character and mind of those who believe. And he sets him here in Hebrews
11. He sets before us the character
and mind of a true believer. Now, my friend, faith is the
same. Let's get that down first. Faith
is the same. I don't care where you find it.
Faith in Alaska is the same as it is in Arkansas. Faith in Australia
is the same as it is in Arkansas. You don't find one faith here
and then go up to Montana and find another faith. Isn't the
faith of that church up there, is their faith not the same as
our faith here? It's the same. They're just one faith. That's
what the Bible says. One faith. Not a bunch of different
faiths. I don't believe like that. Our
church don't believe like that. Well, your church don't believe. Or else ours don't. One or the
other. Because they're just one faith. We're all not saying the
same thing. We're all not doing the same
thing. We're all not acting the same way. They're just one faith. And it's set before us in the
Holy Scriptures. I didn't say that. The Word of
God says that. They're one faith. And I don't care if you're talking
about their faith, your faith, my faith, faith is faith and
the Bible said there's just one faith. Peter tells us that the
faith of those scattered abroad, those that he wrote to had never
met, was like precious faith. Isn't that what he said? Same
as his. Same as his. And then Paul writes
to Titus in Titus chapter 1 verse 4 and writes to him concerning
the common faith. Is that enough Scripture? Is
that enough foundation? Faith is the same. It's the same. And it was the same in Abraham
as it is today. Same faith. Now, we don't all
believe to the same degree. We're told in the Scripture of
weak believers, weak faith, strong faith, of babes and young men
and fathers in the faith. We do not all share the same
degree of knowledge and understanding. Peter, who was an apostle just
like Paul, he spoke of Paul's wisdom. And what did he say about
it? Paul says some things that's
hard to be understood. We don't all have the same degree
of wisdom, do we, in knowledge? Even Peter would own up to that.
But we all, now get this, we all believe the same things concerning
the fundamental doctrines of our faith. We all believe in
the Christ of God as He sent forth in the Word of God. God
come into the flesh. That's the Christ we believe
in. He's God. He's the God-man. You can't believe
in Christ and not believe that Christ is the Son of God. He's
God come into the flesh. We all believe that His coming
was as a representative and substitute for His people. You can't believe
in the Christ of God and differ on this thing of universal salvation
and particular redemption. His coming was as a representative
and substitute for His people. I didn't say that, Christ did.
His eternal appointments of God as Mediator and Savior and Redeemer
are plainly declared in the Scriptures. His effectual atonement. Did
He come to try to save or did He save? What did He do? Did
He actually redeem something or just make an effort at it?
Did He actually purchase something or just make a down payment?
What did He do? Well, I tell you what, believers,
they know that His redemption redeems. They all believe in His all-sufficient
righteousness. And they all believe in His present
reign and glory. Abraham believed these things.
Did you know that? Well, Pastor, how could that
old patriarch, way back yonder, roaming around on those hillsides,
come out of heathen idolatry Come out there with God. How
could He know all these things? How could He believe in all these
things? Well, let me tell you what our Lord told those Jews
who looked on Abraham in just that fashion. Let me tell you
what He told them. He said, Abraham rejoiced to
see My day, and he saw it, and he was glad. Huh? Abraham believed
these things. Abraham was a true believer.
knowing Christ, rejoicing in Christ, and resting in Christ.
And the life he lived and his attitude toward this world and
his hope and expectations were a true and valid evidence of
the faith which was given to him of God. Now, the title of
my message this morning is this. It's in the form of a question.
What are you looking for? Huh? What are you looking for? Abraham looked for a city, one
that had foundations whose builder and maker was God. What are you
looking for? Huh? What am I looking for? What's my expectation? What are
my thoughts? What are you looking for? Hebrews 11, verse 10 says, Abraham
looked for a city that had foundations, whose builder and maker is God. He looked for another place. He had a place. But God called
him out of that place. And sent him out, and he went
out not knowing where he was going. Do you know where you're
going? I don't have a clue. I don't
have a clue. I just know that God promised
a place. that Christ went to prepare a
place. And He said, if I go and prepare that place, I'll return
again and gather you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may
be also. Where is the place? I don't know. I don't know. I know it's called,
but I don't know where it is. Abraham didn't know where this
place was. God called him to. But he went out. He went out. He looked for another place,
a place promised by God, a place he'd never have to leave, a place
that had foundations, a place of peace and rest, a place of
righteousness and holiness, a place of truth and justice, a place
where sin and death could not enter, a place where God's King
ruled in the hearts of His people, and His people loved Him, and
He was their God, and they were His people. The city Abraham
spoke of is a spiritual city, and it's mentioned many times
in the scriptures. Paul speaks of that city over
in Galatians 4.26. He said this Jerusalem, which
is down here, down here, he said it's in bondage, and all of its
children are in bondage. But Jerusalem, which is above,
what in the world is he talking about? Huh? He's talking about
that spiritual city. that place that Abraham sought
for, that city that had foundation. Jerusalem, which is above, is
free, which is the mother of us all. He sought for a city. He sought for a city. John, by
revelation, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from
God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
God has a kingdom, not of this world. A people given to Christ
before the world began. And God's King sits on the throne
of that kingdom. And He's the head of the body
of the church who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
that in all things He might have the preeminence. Because it pleased
the Father that in Him should all fullness dwell. Abraham looked
for a city. What were you looking for? What are you looking for? What's
your expectations? There's five things I want you
to see this morning in my text that produce a true and saving
faith and give evidence by the life we live of its source and
power. Five things. Alright, here's
the first one. How did this man of God obtain
this faith? We all say we have faith. How'd
you get it? How'd you get it? Only you can
answer that. I can't answer that. Where'd
it come from? Where'd it come from? Listen
to this Scripture back in verse 8. Hebrews 11, verse 8. Abraham,
when he was called... Huh? When he was called. Not when he made up his mind. Not when something horrible entered
into his life and got him all upside down and sideways and
moved him to do something. And he thought about some things
and read about some things and decided, I'm going to turn over
a new leaf. I'm going to reform my life. I'm going to quit doing
what I used to do and start doing something else. Ain't what that
says. It says Abraham when he was called. When he was called. My friend, we've been told all
of our lives that the potential of faith lies within every man. Thus the doctrine of free will
and thus the religion of decisionism. If the Word of God has any influence
on you whatsoever, listen to what it says about faith. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 8. For by grace are you saved through
faith. That's what we're talking about
this morning, isn't it, faith? And we're talking about the origin
of it, where it comes from. By grace are you saved through
faith, and that, that is that faith, not of yourselves. It is the gift of God. not of
works, lest any man should boast." Listen to this one, Philippians
1, verse 29. Does the Word of God have any
impact on your heart at all this morning, upon your mind? Does
it have any influence within you at all? Then listen to what
it says. It is given unto you in the behalf
of Christ to believe on Him. Boy, that's plain, ain't it?
How can it get so confused when you listen to men talk about
it? It's just so confusing. And you
sit and you wonder, and you don't even know how to answer them
sometimes. It's so confusing. It's not confusing in the Scriptures,
is it? It's the gift of God. It's given
unto you on the behalf of Christ to believe on Him. Listen to
this one, James 1, verse 18, "...of His own will." begat he
us with the word of truth." Where did this faith come from? It
comes from God. And I'm going to tell you something. He's the only one who can give
it. You can't muster it up. And if you could, you'd brag
about it for all eternity. Not of works, lest any man should
boast. The faith of God's elect is the
free and sovereign gift of His grace, and its source is the
Father who chose us unto salvation through sanctification of the
Spirit and belief of the truth. The right to faith comes by the
Son who clothed us in His perfect righteousness and died for our
sins. John said, as many as received
Him, to them gave He the right and privilege to become sons
of God. How'd they get it? He gave them
the right. He gave them the privilege. Well,
how come some people come unreservedly, come, throw their hands up, bow
down and come? How come some do that and some
don't? Because it's given unto them
the right and privilege to become sons of God. That's why. That's
why. The ability to believe is given
by the sovereign Spirit of God. It's God, Paul said, who worketh
in you both the will and the do of His good pleasure. Faith
is the gift of God, and it's the result of God's effectual
calling. Abraham, when he was called,
went out. Went out. When will you go out? When God calls. How does God
call? Through the preaching of the
gospel. He called. He called. And every man called
by Christ came to Him. Didn't they? Did He call anybody
that didn't come? Come on now. Did He call anybody
who didn't come? Matthew? Follow me. Matthew followed
Him. He told John. John, follow me. John followed Him. My sheep,
He said, hear My voice. Huh? They hear my voice. And they follow me. They follow
me. Now, I'm going to tell you something.
A man can do all sorts of things when men and conscience begin
to disturb him, but when God calls him, he comes and he goes
as God gives him direction. Abraham, when he was called,
went out. He went out. And he did what
God commanded him to do, and he did what God commanded him
to do because God called him. Faith begins with a divine calling. Secondly, faith believes God. Faith believes God. There was
a time when I believed my dad. I had good reason. He never lied
to me on purpose that I know of. I knew after he raised me
that he had my good intended. He fed me my whole life, clothed
me, took care of me, hauled me back and forth to school, taught
me certain things. And I believed him. But he didn't
know the gospel. He didn't know the gospel. And
he told me a lie concerning God. And I swallowed it because I
believed him. But there come a time when I opened this book,
and I saw in this book where he was wrong. And I loved him. I loved my dad.
I still do. I love him. He's dead now, gone. Now, I'm going to tell you something. I believe God more than I believe
Tim. Huh? Can you say that? Abraham believed God. Do you know that what I teach
and preach in this church is contrary to 99% of what religion
is declaring in this day? Totally contrary. They say you're
saved by decision. I'm telling you, you're saved
by sovereign grace. God will either call you or He'll
leave you in your sins and pass you by. It's all up to Him. It's
not of Him that runneth, not of Him that willeth. It's of
God that showeth mercy. That's contrary, totally contrary.
I'm telling you that when Christ came, He did something. He paid
for our sins. He purchased us. He clothed us
with a perfect righteousness. And we stand before God in that
righteousness of Christ that's been imputed to us, been justified
by faith in our conscience. And we believe God concerning
those things, that we stand before God without spot or wrinkle. Unreprovable in the presence
of His glory. Huh? You know why? Because I believe
God. I believe God. Who do you believe? Huh? I'm telling you, this is the
character and mind of the true believer. He's called of God,
and when he's called of God, he believes God. God does a work
in his heart, a supernatural work. He's born of God. He's given that right and privilege
to become the sons of God who were born not of the will of
the flesh nor the will of man, but of God. Of God. He's born of God. God makes him
meet to be partakers of that inheritance with the saints in
life. And he believes God. He believes
God. How do you know? You talk about
man's sin and his depravity and the depth of these things. Do
you really see those things? No, I believe God. I honestly believe if I could see
those things, I don't know if I could survive and see those
things. As God sees them. Putrid. Abomination before Him. But I believe God. That's why
I say that. Why do you think men hate God?
I don't hate God. Ain't what God said. You must
not believe God. You see what I'm saying? This
thing of faith, it's not agreeing to a few things. It's not accepting
Jesus as your personal Savior. It's not coming into agreement
with a few things. It's knowing some things and
believing God. Believing what God said. No matter
who else says it. Isn't that what Paul said to
those? Listen, these Hebrews, they made
up the majority of what men called Christian men and women. They
made up the majority, just like our men in Ism does today. They
held the multitude. They were the only people on
the face of God's earth who stood up and claimed to be men of God.
Men of God. And Paul said concerning them,
he said, let every man be a liar and God be true. Huh? That's a man who believes God.
He believes God. Now I'm going to tell you something
here. Something maybe you've never
heard. The reason why faith believes God is because faith perceives
the love of God in the person and work of Christ. I wouldn't
give you 50 cents for a faith without love. True faith believes
God because it perceives the love of God in the person and
work of Christ. Now, I want you to listen to
some scriptures. Paul said, the life I now live in the flesh,
I live by the faith of the Son of God, listen, who loved me,
huh? Who loved me and gave Himself
for me. Galatians 2.20. Listen to this,
Galatians 2.6. In Jesus Christ neither circumcision
or uncircumcision availeth anything. but faith that worketh by love."
Isn't that what that says? The very heart of faith is the
love of God. It's the love of God. Now, we
perceive things concerning the death of Christ, but the heart
of that doctrine is the love of God. He died for the ungodly. He died
for the unrighteous. He died for those who were enemies
of God. And what do we perceive in that
death? That He died? No. We perceive the love of God. God manifested His love in that
death. In this was manifested the love
of God toward us because that God sent His only begotten Son
into the world that we might live through Him. I John 4 verse
9. The man who perceives the love
of God in Christ is a man of faith, and this love is what
works in him to obey Him and follow Him and rejoice in Him. The man who doesn't have these
things, he doesn't follow Him. He follows Himself. I'll tell
you who you follow, whom you love. And then thirdly, true
saving faith perceives the promises of God as sure and certain realities. There ain't a doubt in my mind
that there's a heaven or a hell. You still doubt those things?
I don't doubt it. I'll tell you when you won't
want to go there when you believe there's hell. You won't want
to go there. You won't want to go there. Old Barnard used to say, we're
not plumb saved yet. Anybody here know what he's talking
about? We're not plumb saved yet. We
still have a nature of sin. We're still filled with doubt.
I think we can say with the apostles, Lord, we believe. Help thou our
unbelief. Sin is still mixed with all we
say and do. Paul said, when I would do good,
evil is present with me. With me. And finally he cried, O wretched
man, but I am. We have the earnest of our inheritance
now. But we don't have its perfection.
That comes after death. That comes when we shed this
old tent. We have in Christ great and precious
promises, promises of justification, sanctification, redemption, resurrection,
and eternal life. We believe in a hereafter. We
believe in heaven. We look for a city that has foundation,
who builder and maker is God. foundations of eternal purpose
and power, and foundations of God's name and glory, and foundation
of God's promise and oath, foundations of blood and righteousness, built
not by the fickle hand of men, but by God Himself. I've never
seen these things. I've never seen the person of
Christ or heard His voice at any time. but His promises are
as real to me as if I had." That's faith. That's faith. Listen to Peter, "...whom having
not seen, ye love." Who do you love? You love Him you've never
seen. "...in whom though now you see
Him not, yet believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full
of glory. Believers treat the promises
of God as sure and certain things. Paul said, We are saved by hope,
but hope that seems not hope. For what a man seeth, why does
he yet hope for it? But if we hope for that which
we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. What are you saying,
preacher? I'm saying that God's people
live with an eye on eternity. That's what I'm saying. They
have an eye on eternity. Yes, we live in this world. Yes,
I have to work. Yes, I have to deal with folks.
But listen to me. This is not it. I haven't seen it yet, but I
know it's there. I know it's there. Because I
believe God. I believe God. And I live with
an eye on eternity. And men and women who spend their
time on time have no time to think about eternity. Fourthly,
saints have good reason to look past the grace. Our Savior and
representative rose from the dead, showed Himself to hundreds,
over 500 brethren at one time. Stayed here better than a month
before He ascended into glory. Showed Himself to hundreds of
believers and then stepped onto a cloud and ascended into glory
to take possession of the inheritance promised to us before the world
began. It's already possessed. Did you
know that? He possesses it. Our surety,
our surety has already ascended into glory and took possession
of our inheritance. It's guaranteed. That's our guarantor
sitting on the throne. That's our surety. And all of
the promises, listen to how Paul preached, all of the promises
of God in Christ are yea and amen. Nothing iffy to it. Nothing iffy about it. Nothing
left to chance. It's all yay and amen in Christ. Question is, am I in Christ?
You see the purpose for this message? What are you looking
for? What am I looking for? Do I believe
God? These promises are sure and certain
because they were promised in a surety. For one promise of
God to fail, Christ must be defeated, God overpowered, and divinity
would have to cease to exist. For one promise to fail. Abraham
was commanded to go out, and he went out. Now watch this.
Not knowing where he went. He knew certain things about
it, but he hadn't seen it. He knew it was promised of God.
He knew it belonged to him. that he had a God-given right
to it. He knew he wouldn't be alone
there. He talked about a city. He didn't talk about a house.
He talked about a city. And I tell you, he knew who prepared
it. He knew who prepared it. The
one thing that I guess convinces me more than anything else about
the heaven of glory is that Christ said, I go to prepare a place
for you. I know who prepared it. Who prepared
it. Nobody here this morning knows
what heaven looks like or what we'll look like after our change.
John said this, it doth not yet appear what we shall be. People
study preachers all the time looking at them. Brethren, you
can look at me from now to the end of time, and you can't tell
what I'm going to be looking at me. No, you can't. It does not yet appear what we
shall be. But I know this, when it comes
about, I'll be just like Him. I'll be just like Him. Our Lord's
last words of comfort to His disciples before going to the
cross He said, let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God,
do you? Believe also in me. In my Father's
house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have
told you. Hold my soul. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go, I'll come again. I'll come again." Those angels
said, why are you standing here looking at this cloud? This same
Jesus that you see taken up, He's coming again. The angels
knew it. And they marveled that these
disciples, after all their teaching, didn't know that. They marveled.
What are you looking at? What are you staring up here
for? Don't you know that this same Jesus that you see taken
up from you is going to come again in like manner and receive
you unto Himself. Anybody believe that? Anybody here today believe that
Jesus Christ has taken possession of God's inheritance on our behalf
and given to us the earnest of it? and will shortly step back
onto a cloud. He's coming in clouds, is what
John said. He's going to step back on a
cloud and come again, but this time not in humility. This time
in power and glory with his holy angels. It must be so. It's been It's
manifested, hasn't it? It's been manifested. It was
manifested in Christ. Manifested. And it's occupied
even now by our Savior. Now let me give you this one
last thing and I'll quit. All true believers are strangers
and pilgrims dwelling in tents in a strange land. That's Hebrews
11 verse 9. A funny thing happens when God
saves a man. This world, which seems so familiar
to him, becomes a strange place. Is that your experience? Well,
it's mine. I thought I understood this world.
I thought I knew something about it. And then God began to work
in me, and this whole world seems a strange place now. It's strange. I don't understand Things that
they say and things that they do don't make sense. Don't make
sense. This whole world becomes a strange
place. Everybody around a believer is
like a foreigner to them. Their speech is strange. Their
ways are strange. Their gods are strange. And by
faith, Abraham sojourned in a land of promise as in a strange country,
dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, heirs with him
of the same promise." Believers are as strange to this world
as the world is to them. Abraham was a nice guy. He really
was. Believers are nice guys. They
do things. They give you stuff. They love. I don't want to cause anybody
any harm. I wouldn't stand up here and purposely offend you,
but the truth is offensive. I do it. You call me, I'll come
help you. Whatever it is you need me to do, I'll come help
you, or try. He was a nice guy. People seen
him. They loved him. They wanted him
to stay. They wanted him to build a home. They wanted to give him
land. They wanted him to start a farm.
They wanted him to be part of their community. But he was a
pilgrim, and he knew it. And he stayed in his tents because
he wasn't yet where God wanted him to be. And he knew that. This world sees the believer
as a radical, somebody who believes and insists on a thing while
the multitudes are in disagreement with him. This world rejects
his teaching even though he shows them in the Word of God. God
said through his prophet Habakkuk, listen to this, Behold, ye despisers
and wander and perish. I work a work in your days, a
work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare
it unto you." Brethren, believers band together
because they're strangers. They're strangers in this world. and strangers to this world.
And I worry about folks who seem to get along with the world and
do not seek the company of God's elect. Abraham was a stranger to this
world. And he was a stranger in this
world. Let me read verse 13 of Hebrews chapter 11 and I'll quit.
Hebrews 11 verses 13 through 16. These all died in faith, not
having received the promises, but having seen them afar off,
and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed
that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth." Four. Are you listening? They that
say such things declare plainly that they seek another place. They seek a country. They seek
another place. And truly, if they had been mindful,
that is, if this is where their mind and heart was, they might
have had opportunity to have returned. Abraham would go home
anytime he wanted to. Anytime he wanted to. He had
plenty of opportunity to go home. Abraham was a wealthy man. He
was a man of much possession. God blessed him in that respect.
He had all kinds of... He could go home anytime he wanted
to. But God called him out of there.
He didn't want to go back. I'd go back to Nazarene church
tomorrow. They'd probably let me preach and teach Sunday school
or do something in there. God called me out of that mess.
And I don't want to go back. I don't want to go back. But
now, verse 16, they desire a better country,
a better place that is a heavenly Wherefore, God is not ashamed
to be called their God. For He hath prepared for them
a city, a place, a kingdom. Oh, my soul. Heaven's glory. Heaven's glory. May the Lord
give us the faith of these great patriots. And I want to tell
you something. When a man looks for what Abraham
looked for his whole life, It bears evidence of it. He don't live for this world
anymore. He looks for that kingdom. Abraham
had sheep and goats. Did he feed them? Well, sure
he did. He had to make a living. The Lord opened opportunity for
him to have big herds. And he had to have people over
those herds. And he hired people. He employed
people to do that. And he paid them. And he had
a huge house. I tell you, his mind and heart
wasn't on camels and sheep. His mind and heart was looking
for the promises of God. And I'm not telling you that
you can't work a job. I'm not telling you you can't
go fishing. I'm not telling you you can't do this and can't do
that. But is that what you're really looking for? Is that what
you're living for? Is that what your faith evidences?
I don't think so. Not those who believe God. Those
who believe God, I'm telling you, their lives evidence their
expectations and hopes. They're looking for that city.
They're looking for that kingdom. And they're looking for the glory
of God in Christ. And all their lives, they keep
going that way, keep going that way, keep going that way. And
then at the end, these all died in faith. What kind of faith? That faith that looks. looks,
never quits looking.
