It is my delight and honor to
be with you. I apologize for it being so long
before I came back. I've been really looking forward
to being here and seeing this building and meeting with you
in. And I appreciate so much you
changing your order of services so we can meet tonight. Thank
you. Let's turn to Mark chapter 7. And try to just picture the
scene as you turn. Our Lord Jesus Nuestro Señor Jesucristo has
just come from Decapolis, from the coast of tired Sidon. And there He graciously healed
the Syrophoenician's daughter, her girl who was grievously vexed
with the devil. Here in Decapolis, he continued
his acts of mercy. He was one who was both deaf
and suffered from a speech impediment. His fame was so great that he
simply couldn't be hidden. There's a huge crowd gathered
before him. He who had caused the lame to
walk, the deaf to hear, the dumb to speak, and the blind to see.
He who cast out devils, raised the dead by the mere word
of His power, stood before this astonished crowd, and they all
with one voice said, He hath done all things well. You see
that at the end of verse 37? He hath done all things well. That's one of those passages
that the Lord seemed to burn into my heart a few years ago.
And has been burning into my heart ever since. He hath done
all things well. Now these men and women who had
only seen the things that our Lord did to men in the flesh,
who had seen nothing but physical miracles, miracles performed
on other people, Milagros hechos sobre otras personas. Ellos estaban asombrados, maravillaban. Y ellos dijeron, bien lo ha hecho
todo. Cuanto mas entonces debemos nosotros? who have tasted and experienced
His grace, confess before God in heaven, for the men and women
of this world, and constantly to one another, He hath done
all things well. Oh, He hath done all things well. May God the Holy Spirit burn
this into our hearts. I want you to get just one thing
tonight. Have a message with just one
point. He has done all things well. Now let me see how I can emphasize
that for you. Looking over my life, and everything
I've experienced in 56 years, I lift my heart with my hand
to heaven and say, He hath done all things well. Like you, I've had a few trials, and a
few sorrows. A little pain, and a little heartache. I've experienced a little hurt,
and a little bitterness. And I am ashamed to confess I've
called more than I've experienced. But God my Savior has been so
kind and gracious to this man, where I could die before I leave
your country. You can write this on my gravestone. Here lies a man. who for 56 years was the unceasing
benefactor of special divine care, and my Jesus has done all
things well. Gentlemen, you who know my Savior, Is this not the case with you? I know you can testify the same. He has done all things well. From the first day of our birth
to this hour, from the earliest pains of sin's conviction, to
the blessed thrill of sin's forgiveness, Hasta aquel momento de alegría
cuando conocimos el perdón de pecados. From the cradle to the
grave. Desde la cuna hasta el sepulcro. From earth to heaven. De la tierra
al cielo. This will be our unceasing testimony. Esto va a ser nuestro testimonio
incesante. Regarding all the way that our
God has led us. Respecto a todo lo que Dios nos
ha dirigido. through this wilderness and in
every experience along the way. He has done all things well. in providence and in grace, in
every truth revealed in His Word, in every token of His love, in
every stroke of His rod, in every cloud of darkness, en cada oscuridad cubierto por
agradecido. Nuestro Dios y Salvador who loved
us and redeemed us, who chose us and saved us by His grace,
who has kept us all the days of our lives in His care, has
done all things well. Our God, our great God, He is too wise to err, too strong
to fail, and too good to do wrong. May He teach us this and cause
us to walk before Him with confidence. Turn back to the 119th Psalm. We'll read together verses 65
through 68, please. 65 to 68. Psalm 119, 65 to 68. You have done
well with your servant, O Jehovah, according to your word. Teach
me good sense and wisdom, for I have believed your commandments. Before I was humiliated, I was
misguided, but now I keep your word. Bueno eres tú y bien hechor,
enséñame tus estatutos. I could never find more suitable
words. No podría yo encontrar palabras más correctas. To sum up my life's experience.
Para resumir la experiencia de mi vida. Now consider these things.
Ahora, consideren estas cosas. God, my Savior, has dealt with
me. Dios, mi Salvador, ha tratado
conmigo. So infinite and great is our
God, that He can and does deal with me, and with every one of
you His own, with all His people all the time, and yet deal with
each of us as though He dealt with each one alone. como si el tratase con nosotros
y únicamente con nosotros. Ese es un pensamiento maravilloso.
My God has dealt with me all the days of my life. Todos los
días de mi vida. The angel of the Lord is encamped
around about me. El ángel de Jehová ha acampado
alrededor de mí. Dwelling with me. El está habitando
conmigo. causing me constantly to dwell
in him. Not only has he dealt with me,
he has dealt well with me. Truly thou hast dealt well with
thy servant. Those words don't begin to express
in English or Spanish to tell our astonishment. That little
word, well, It's one of those words that
just can't be translated by one word.
One of
those magnificent words just bursting with meaning.
When the
psalmist says, Thou hast dealt well with thy servant. Cuando
el salmista dice, Has tratado bien con tu siervo. The psalmist
is saying this. El salmista está diciendo esto.
Thou hast dealt most favorably, most kindly, most graciously,
most lovingly, most pleasurably, most sweetly, most prosperously,
most merrily, joyfully, and generously with thyself. con mi alma. Particularmente,
Ahora, mientras estaba yo sentado
ya preparando para predicar, I couldn't help but to think
of brother Walter and his wife Betty. No pude mas que pensar
en hermano Walter y su esposa Betty. And your pastor brother
Cody and his wife Winna. Y su pastor hermano Cody y su
esposa Winna. He's dealt well with us as his
servants. El ha tratado bien con nosotros
sus siervos. As his children, yes. Como sus
hijos, si. As his bride, yes. Como su esposa,
si. As his friends, yes. Como su
amigo, si. But as his servant. Pero como
su siervo. These men would say with me,
unto me who am less than the least of all saints, is this
grace given that I should preach to you the unsearchable riches
of Christ. Oh, what a privilege, what an
honor that God would allow us be instruments by which he speaks
his word and his grace to the children of his love. He has
dealt well as his servant in his call and his appointment. He dealt well with me in all
His provision, in all His protection, in every open door of others,
and in causing His Word to run swiftly to chosen saints. Now
watch this. According to Thy Word, according to his word of purpose
and predestination, his word of promise, according to his
word of grace, and according to Christ who is the word, thou
hast dealt well with thy servant, according to the word. Truly, He has done all things well. From old eternity, when we think
of all that our Savior has done for us as our sheriff, And I said, old eternity. What
a redundancy of language. How else can we speak? Before
the world was, our hearts must gladly confess. He has done all
things well. The Lord Jesus Christ, our Savior,
God's darling Son, drew nigh unto God on our behalf. se acercó a Dios a favor nuestro
was, He gave Himself as the Lamb slain, to redeem us. The Father
accepted Him. and accepted us in him and in
him blessed us before the world was with all spiritual blessings
Ephesians 1.12 tells us that the father trusted him from eternity whom we now trust as our Savior. But His goodness doesn't stop
with God's purpose. In the fullness of time, when
God sent forth His Son made of a woman, made under the law,
to redeem them that were under the law. The Son of God came down here
and took on Himself our nature. And when we think of the Incarnation
of our Lord, let us never be inhibited with any sense of caution. Sometimes we think we don't dare
say God became a man. That's exactly what God did.
God became a man and never ceased to be God. He didn't just assume
our nature. He didn't just take on Himself
our nature. God the Son stepped into time
in human flesh and was born of the Virgin.
And truly as a man in this world,
he had done all things well. He lived in this world in perfect
righteousness, but not for himself, but for us. He lived in perfect obedience
to the law and will of God. Do you understand what God requires
of you and me? He requires that you and I love
God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, and all our
being. He requires that we love one
another as we love ourselves. Unless my heart is deceived,
I want to love God with all my heart, soul, mind and being.
And I want to love you, just like I love myself. But I can't
do it. It's not possible. Now hold on
to your city. I have done it. Did you hear
that? I have done it. Perfectly. In the person of my Savior. And
he is made of God unto me. Righteousness. When he obeyed the will of God,
when he walked in righteousness on the earth, we obeyed God in
him. We performed righteousness in him. But that is not sufficient
for the salvation of our souls. The Lord Jesus must do something
else. He must be made sin for us. And so our Lord Jesus Christ, set his face like a plinth to
go up to Jerusalem to suffer and die in our Roman state. There,
he who knew no sin was made sin for us. The Lord God gathered
all the sin of all his people for all time.
somos. Pecado. And when his son was
made sick, he cried a wakeful sword against one that is my
fellow, smite and slay the shepherd. And he buried the sword of his
justice in the heart of his son. And by the sacrifice of himself, Son of God put away sin. By his sacrifice justice is satisfied. Sin is put away. The curse of God's law is gone
forever. There is therefore now no condemnation
to them that are in Christ Jesus. Now, He that spared not His Son,
but delivered Him up for us all, how shall we not with Him? also free to give us all things
after we have a question. If Christ died for me, if He
was made all that I am, to make me all that He is, how could
I ever question His goodness? I have just one daughter, an
only child. I love her dearly. Back in 1995, A fellow came to my door one
night and asked me to give her to him in marriage. And I did.
Glad to do so. After I performed the ceremony,
Doug and Faith went on their honeymoon on his first trip back
to our house. Y en su primer viaje de regreso
a mi casa, I gave him a key to every lock in the house.
Took him out to the
garage and showed him where my tools were.
Gave him a key to both cars. Le di la llave de los dos de
mis automóviles. And I said, that's yours. Y le
dije, eso es tuyo. Just use it however you want
it. Úsalos como te parezca. Somebody asked one time, did
you really do that? I said, I gave it to my daughter.
You think I wouldn't give him a wrench? God gave his son. Now
just what do you think he won't give you? He that spared not his own son,
but delivered it left for us all, have some not with him free
to give us all things. Paul, one more time. Reflect
on this thought. He has done all things well in all his graces.
He sends his Spirit. and convinced us of sin, righteousness,
and judgment, called us by irresistible grace, turned us to Himself,
and spoke peace and forgiveness in our hearts. The Lord Jesus sent His Spirit
like King David sent his servant Ziba and said take him.
Somebody asked him what part
did you do? Y alguien me pregunto alguna vez bueno y que parte
hiciste tu? I did the running and he did
the catching. Yo corri y el me atrapo. I did
the same and he did the same. Yo hice el pecar y el hizo el
salvar. Salvation is his work alone.
La salvación es su obra únicamente. In mercy, en la misericordia,
in amazing grace, y en la gracia maravillosa, he called me. El
me llamó. 40 years ago. Cuarenta años atrás. And he has
kept me. Y el me ha guardado. In his grip. En su mano, en su protección.
All the time. todo este tiempo. Me ha guardado. Me ha guardado. Why is it that
we continue in the faith when others fall to the wayside? Why
is it that we continue to seek Him when multitudes who once
professed to seek Him grow tired of Him because He won't let us
go? When my grandson and my granddaughter
were babies, I used to take them by the hand and just swing them
around like you folks do your babies. And my daughter would
sit back like her, going, Oh, what's going to happen? She's long since forgotten, I
used to swing her the same way. And when I swing those babies
around, they just hold on tight. But their safety was not in them
gripping my hand, but in me gripping theirs. And our safety is not
in the grip of our faith, but in the grip of His omnipotent
grace. He has done all things well in
the constant, unceasing, marvelous revelation of His love. Oh, may
He teach us To comprehend the breadth, and
the length, and the depth, and the height, and to know the love
of God in Christ Jesus, that passes knowledge. God commended his love toward
us, and while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Behold what
manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should
be called the sons of God. We love him because he first
loved us. Our love for him can hardly be called love. But love
him we do because he first loved us. His love preceded ours.
What a wise, good God and Savior
we have. Él ha tratado bien conmigo. Our own biographies amplify this
text. He who gave His Son for us has
given us His Spirit and conveys to us all the blessings of His
grace. Our God deals with us like a God. He lays open all His infinite
fullness to us. And of His fullness have all
we received, and grace for grace. And we know we don't much act
manera. God forgive our sins. Dios perdone
nuestro pecado. But we who know him. Pero nosotros
que le conocemos a el. Know. Conocemos. That all things
work together. Que todas las cosas ayudan a
bien. Work together for good. Ayudan
a bien. To them who are the cause. Para
aquellos que son llamados. According to his purpose. Conforman
su propósito. Does not your life verify this
fact? He has done all things well.
Indeed it does. Now, if that's the case, just
imagine what things shall be. In the experience of His full
grace, when we have dropped this robe of flesh and entered into
that world where there is no sin, no sorrow, no sickness,
no darkness, no death, but only life in perfection. solamente vida y perfección.
And we look back over all life's experience. Y estando allá, miremos
atrás toda la experiencia de nuestra vida. And we lift our
hearts with praise. Y elevemos nuestro corazón en
alabanza. To him who sits on the throne.
Aquel que está sobre el trono. And declare forever to wandering
worlds. Y declaremos para siempre a los
mundos. We have done all things El ha
hecho bien todo. Dios la bendiga.
