Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things.
49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

My message this evening is, what
did Jesus preach about himself? Did Jesus preach himself? Did
Christ preach himself? Did Christ preach himself? Here
we have in verse 45, Luke 24, 45, Then opened he their understanding,
that they might understand the Scriptures, And oh my, he's the only one
that can. He's the only one that can, and thank God he does. Bless
his name that he does. And said unto them, Thus it is
written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise
from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission
of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning
at Jerusalem, in your witnesses of these things." So what was
the message that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself preached? Now
John was the last Old Testament prophet. And all the preachers
who preached from Pentecost on, they all preached when the Holy
Ghost came upon them. They began to preach the Lord
Jesus Christ, His person, His work, what He accomplished, not
only for our salvation, but the satisfaction of the holiness
of God. But John was a last Old Testament prophet. And if you
ask him what his message was, his message of course was the
Lord Jesus Christ. A lot of people say, you know,
when you come thundering you preach repentance. And he did.
He told men to flee from the wrath to come. He preached baptism
and repentance and remission of sins and baptism as the evidence
of that. Evidence of that. And you can
find that in Luke chapter 3. But his main purpose as God raised
him up and caused him to be born into this world was to be the
forerunner of our Lord Jesus Christ. To be the one heralding
his coming. to point him out, to distinguish
him when he came. You see, he said he was not that
light, but he was sent to bear witness of that light that should
come into the world. And he says, there's one coming
after me. I'm hearing that there's one
coming after me. He is preferred before me because
he was before me. He was before I ever was. Before
I was ever in my mother's womb, he was. Talking about the pre-existence
of the Lord Jesus. And he says, oh I do, I baptize
you with water. But there's one coming after
me. That when he comes he'll baptize you with the Holy Ghost
and with fire. And he said not only that, but
said he must increase and I have to decrease. You want to come
to me and hear what I've got to say, well I'm going to tell
you about him and as I tell you about him I'm coming down. And
he identified in the thing that he did, that stands out above
all things that he said and did. One day he saw the Lord Jesus
Christ coming to the shores of Jordan to be baptized of him
and he says, Behold the Lamb of God, pointed at him. Behold
the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world. And
then his disciples left him and started following the Lord Jesus
Christ. So John preached the Lord Jesus Christ. But what did
the Lord Jesus Himself preach about Himself? Now the words
that He spoke, the words that He taught, the words that He
preached, make up the largest body of teaching and preaching
by anyone else in the Scriptures. You can read what Paul had to
say, you can read through the book of Acts what a particular
preacher said, but our Lord Jesus, more words are written down that
came forth from His mouth, came right out of his mouth more than
any other person in the scriptures. And the Holy Spirit came upon
him at his baptism. But what did he preach concerning
himself? What did he preach? Well, I'm going to give you several
things to show you that he preached himself. First of all, he declared
himself to be the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, of
all the prophecy concerning the Old Testament. That's what he
said here in verse 45 and 46. Then opened he their understandings
that they might understand the Scriptures. Now the thing that
we call the Scriptures, and what they called the Scriptures, was
strictly the Old Testament Scriptures. They didn't have the New Testament
written in. And he pointed out to them, thus it was written.
in the Old Testament it was prophesied of me that it behooved me to
suffer and to rise from the dead the third day and that repentance
and remission should be preached in my name beginning at Jerusalem
now look down here in verse 27 on the Emmaus road as he started
here on the Emmaus road with these men here and beginning
at Moses and all the prophets he expounded unto them and all
the scriptures of things What? Concerning himself. He pointed
men even to himself. And look over here in Luke chapter
4 with me, just a moment. Look with me together, look together
in Luke chapter 4. Luke chapter 4, at the start
of his ministry. What happened when he started
his ministry? Thirty years old, been baptized to John. Started
his public ministry. Preached for a little over three
years. and then was crucified and here it says in verse 17
and that was delivered unto him he was in the synagogue in Nazareth
where he was raised and that was delivered unto him the book
of the prophet Isaiah and when he had opened the book he found
the place where it was written and it's from Isaiah 61 the spirit
of the Lord is upon me now this is a prophecy concerning the
Lord Jesus Christ hundreds of years before he ever came. And
he said, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me because he hath anointed
me to preach the gospel to the poor, to preach deliverance to
have sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the
captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty
them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the door, gave it again to the minister, and
sat down, and everybody was watching him. Every eye in that place
was fixed on him. And he began to say unto them
as he stood there, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your
ears. He preached himself that day,
the first day of his public ministry. What I just read to you is fulfilled
here this day right in your eyes, fulfilled in your ears. This
prophecy was concerning me, it was written six, seven hundred
years ago, and right here I am today telling you that it was
about me. You think they just understood
what he said? And when he came to the woman
at the well, the Samaritan woman, and he began to tell her and
expose her sin, go call your husband. I had no husband. You
rightly said, you had five, but the one you have now is not yours.
Oh my, I said, I know that when the Messiah comes, he'll tell
us all things. Tell us all things. And the Lord
Jesus said, I who speak unto you am He. She knew that the
Messiah was going to come. She knew that the Scriptures
taught that Christ was coming. And then He stood there and told
her, I that speak unto you, that's Me. I'm that Messiah. So He declared
Himself and preached Himself to be the fulfillment of prophecy. And all these claims to be the
anointed one of the Old Testament prophecy, you just imagine the
claims and how it shocked people and how it stirred people up
when he would claim to be the anointed Christ. That's what
they said about John. Are you that Christ? No, I'm
not Him. I'm not Him. But then the Lord
Jesus comes right after him and said, I am that Christ. I am
the Messiah. And some believed. Some believed. They're like Simon Peter when
he said, Lord, we believe and know that thou art the Christ,
the Son of the living God. We believe that. But here in
Luke chapter 4, look what happens. Down in verse 23. But he said
unto them, you'll surely say unto me this proverb, physician,
heal yourself. In other words, Here's where
all the people around you are sick and you're in your own neighborhood
and your own people. We've heard you about what you've
done over in Capernaum. Well, do here among us. Do your
own people. And he said, Verily I say unto
you, no prophet is except in his own country. Now watch this.
But I tell you the truth, there were many winners in the days
of Elijah when the heaven was shut up. Three years and six
months. But under none of them was Elijah
since they've under-surrected the city of Sidon unto a heathen
woman now. A woman that was a winner, just
one. He's preaching election, his sovereignty, his right to
do what he will. And many lepers were in Israel,
showing the distinction that God's got the right to make the
distinction. Many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha,
the prophet. And none of them was cleansed
save in Naaman. He wasn't a Jew. He was Assyrian. Oh my! How do you think they reacted? They showed their hatred, their
animosity, and then they all there in the synagogue when they
heard these things were filled with wrath. rose up to cast him
off the hill. So you see, beloved, when he
declared himself to be the fulfillment of prophecy, some believed and
some didn't. And I'll tell you, and that's
what we got to believe, that's what we believe today, that when
we read the Old Testament, I can find Christ in the Old Testament.
We'll do that later in another message. But I can find Christ
in the Old Testament in Genesis chapter 1, verse 1. And verse 2, and verse 3, and
verse 4, and verse 5. That's right. And I can go to
Genesis 3 and I can find Christ. I can find Him preached in Genesis
4. I can find Him in Genesis 6 and preach
Him from there. Isn't that right? And I can go to Isaiah and use
the very words that he used out of Isaiah 61 and 1 and I can
preach that he's the fulfillment of every one of those things.
Then right here we see this evidence that he, he came, he was anointed
with the Lord. to set us free. He was anointed
of the Lord to give sight to the blind. He was anointed of
the Lord to heal our broken heart. He was the one come to set us
in liberty to preach deliverance to the captives. And he set us
free. We were captives and he set us
free. So we see the fulfillment. And then he declared a priest
himself by claiming him to be the great I am that I am. Oh,
he wasn't ambiguous about that. I mean, he was, he didn't speak
in generalities. He just said, I am that I am. And they understood that about
him. You know, there's seven I am's that our Lord spoke concerning
himself. Seven I am's. You know, when
Moses was on the mountain, and God said, you go down and tell
Moses to let my people go. He started down and he turned
around and said, but who am I going to say sent me? I just can't
go up to Pharaoh and say, Pharaoh, let my people know. Well, who
am I going to tell them who it is? It's my people. He said,
you tell it, I am that I am sent you. Well, our Lord Jesus said,
I am, seven different times. First of all, he said, I am the
bread of life, which came down from heaven. I am the bread of
life. Oh, there ain't nowhere in the
world that you can have delight. He that eateth me, heareth my
flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath light. And then he said,
I am the light. I am the light of this world.
He that follows me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have
the light of life. I am the light. And oh my, when
he talks about I being the light, everything outside of him is
darkness. Everything outside of him is death. Everything outside
of him is blindness. And then he says, I am the door
to salvation. I am the door by which a man
enters in. There ain't no other door. No other door. The door is not the church. The
door is not the preacher. The door is not the altar. The
door is not In our works, the door is our law keeping. The
door is the Lord Jesus Christ. I am the door. Amen. And I'll tell you this much about
it. You can't even turn the knob. And you can't open it. And when you get in, you can't
shut it and open it and go back out. He said, I'm the door. And then he says, I'm the good
shepherd, I am the good shepherd who gives his life for the sheep. And he says, I am the resurrection
and the life. He that believeth on me know
he were dead, yet shall he live. Oh, I know they were on the last
day. I am the resurrection and the life now. Not in the future, not in the
past, right now! Oh my! And then he said, I am,
I'm the way, I am the truth, I am the life, and it's by me
alone that a person, a soul, may approach God. No man comes
unto the Father but by me. And then he said, in John 15,
verse 1, I am the truth I am, and my Father is the husband. And all beloved, look over here
in John chapter 8, just a minute. Put you in John 8 with me just
a minute. Could there be any clearer testimony that our Lord
Jesus Christ gave of Himself than these statements? I am. They understood that when He
said, I am. They understood that. Look here now. What He says in
us in John chapter 8 and verse 56. Your father Abraham rejoiced
to see my day, and he saw it, and was glad. Then said the Jews
unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen
Abraham? Now watch this now. Jesus said
unto them, Verily, verily, or truly, truly, I say unto you,
before Abraham was, Oh, did Christ preach himself? What was his
message? What was his message? In fact, he told the Pharisees
who had their religion from the top of their head to the sole
of their foot, inside and outside. Carried their scriptures on their
forehead and on their arms. Stood making long prayers. You
know, you go to a wrestling, you see all these people drawing
hands and going and making a short prayer. And that's the way they were.
They wanted everybody to know that they was religious. Wanted everybody to know that
they knew God. And our Lord said, I'm telling you, except you believe
that I am He, you'll die in your sins. Dying my sins after I've
been in the synagogue all my life? Dying my sins after I've
read the Bible? Dying my sins after I've prayed
on the street corner? Dying my sins after I've paid
my tithes? Dying my sins after I've been
related to Abraham? Dying my sins after I dress right? Dying my sins? Except you believe I am, he will
die in your sins. Oh my, did he preach himself?
Oh he did. And then he preached himself
in the Sermon on the Mount. Now the Sermon on the Mount is
the longest sermon in the New Testament. And oh my, this is,
you need to read that yourself. But he preached himself in the
Sermon on the Mount. And let's look over here, just
a minute, Matthew chapter 7. Turn over there, let me say this
while I'm saying that. That our Lord Jesus Christ seven
different times seven different times he said you have heard
it said of an old time but I say unto you Now if I say something, it don't
carry a lot of weight, but when I say something, I say unto you,
we better sit up and listen. He said, you've heard it said.
This is what you've been taught. This is what they taught you
in Sunday school. This is what they taught you
at the church. This is what they taught you in your character
in the class. This is what they taught you at the synagogue.
But I'm telling you, I say unto you, And he done that seven different
times. And he dealt with seven different
aspects of people's lives in every way. The first thing he
done, he began to describe a believer. Not what a believer ought to
be, not what a believer is going to be, but what a believer is. That's the first thing he started
out. And then he began to say, I say
unto you, But here, when he comes down to the conclusion of this
message, the Sermon on the Mount, he sets forth himself in a clearest
way, and he says here in verse 24, Matthew 7, 24. Therefore,
whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, what sayings? What he
just got to preach. What I say unto you, what you
heard, and what I say unto you. Therefore, whosoever heareth
these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a
wise man, which built his house upon a rock." Well, who is that
rock? That's himself. And the rain descended, the floods
came, the winds blew and beat upon that house, and it fell
not. Why? Found it on a rock. What is the
rock? These sayings of mine. Right? And everyone that heareth
these sayings of mine and doeth them not, he hears them like
everybody else, but he don't do them. He'll be like unto a
fool which built his house on the sand. And the rain descended,
and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that
house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it. So what our
Lord Jesus is saying here, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine,
when I say unto you, you go through this, Sermon on the Mount, and
you say, this is what Christ said. Well, that's what I'm going
to do. He said, you've heard it said that thou shalt not commit
adultery. I say unto you, you don't have
to take another man's wife. You don't have to do that. I
say, if you in your heart look on another woman and desire her
instead of your own, you've already committed adultery. Ain't that right? He said, I,
you've heard it said, thou shalt not commit murder. Don't get
your guns, don't get your ass, don't get your club, don't get
your ass, and don't you commit no murder. That's what you've
heard it said. But I say unto you, if you just
get angry with a man, if you hate a man, you despise a man,
without cause, you just get angry at a man without cause, and you're
in danger of hellfire. See what I'm talking about? He
said, he that heareth these sayings of mine, and does them. See,
men don't, the outward form, everybody can keep that. But he said, I'm telling you
that this goes to the heart. This goes to the heart. And oh
my, I ain't never killed anybody. No, but you ever been so bad
to somebody you wanted to hurt them real bad? You ever been mad at somebody
without a real cause? That's what I want to tell you.
And then you know, don't covet. You have heard it
says, that thou shalt not covet. He said, I'm telling unto you,
not only not do that, but if a man asks of you to walk with
him a mile, you go too. I don't know what he has, but
you give back twice what he wants. If he asks, give to him. If he
wants to walk a mile, go to him. If you want your coat, give him
your coat also. Oh, that's what he said. That's
a wise man. He said, he that hears these sayings of mine and
builds his life on what I say. Not what somebody else says.
Not on our opinions. Not on our carnal reasonings.
Not on what we think or what we feel is right. But on what
I say. And he said it ain't enough to
even call me Lord. It's not even enough to call
me Lord. Many shall say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord. And
he's going to say, depart from me you workers of iniquity, I
never knew you. Why call you me Lord and do not
the things which I say? So you see, he said, therefore,
as the final authority and as the only hope for a soul in this
world to be saved and to have a house that will stand when
this world and everything is coming down on it. You see, he
preached himself. Do you see what I'm saying here?
Oh my, the whole of a believer's life, the whole of true Christianity
is based upon these sayings of mine. these sayings of mine oh
my he that hears and does that's what he said ain't that
what he said he that hears these sayings of mine and doeth them
doeth them so he preached himself oh my ain't you thankful aren't
you thankful in your heart of hearts that we have something besides ourselves and
our feelings and our reasonings and our opinions and the world's
dictates to go by other than ourselves. So we have an infallible
root, we have an authority and that authority is the Lord Jesus
Christ himself. Do you want your house on the
rock? Oh, I want it on the rock. And oh my, whether we like it
or not, we're living a lie, ain't we? And oh my, everything about
this, he preached himself, and then by the way, Brother Larry
said he loved to read Matthew because of all the parables in
it. Well, our Lord Jesus Christ preached himself in the parables.
He pushed himself into parables. You know, in Luke chapter 20,
that's the parable of the vine dresser. He said, you know a
man laid a vineyard, planted a vineyard, And he went off into
a far country. And he turned it over to these
men. And then after a while he sent a servant, he sent a preacher,
he sent a prophet. And they beat him and stoned
him and run him off. He said, I'll send another one.
So he sent another prophet, another preacher. They stoned him and
they beat him and they run him off. Killed him. And they said,
I tell you what, they'll receive my son, my beloved son. They'll
treat him right. So he sent his son. And they
said, here's the son. He's the heir. Let's kill him. And that's, our Lord said, this
is what they're going to do to me. This world and everything
that's in it, and the Jews particularly, they're the vineyard of my pain,
and I've pruned them, and I've kept them, and I've met every
need. But every prophet I've ever sent
them, they stoned. Every prophet I've ever sent
them, they hated. Every prophet I've ever sent
them, they said, we don't want you. And I'm going to send my
son. And what are they going to do to him? He's the heir,
let's kill him. to show that they would murder
the son of God himself. And then also many about his
second coming. That's the parable of the talents.
When he left, he left his servants one ten talents, one five talents,
one two talents, another one talent. Then when he come back,
what did you do with my talent? Also many of his second coming.
Then about the wise and foolish virgins. Oh, don't be like the
foolish virgins. The wise have their lamps trimmed
and their lights burning, so when the bridegroom come in,
and then if it's midnight, when they knock, they can rise up
and lay in. And oh my, about a second coming,
the sheep on the right and the goats on the left. Every parable
was about himself, you see. You know, the strong men aren't.
Who is the strong man armed? Who do you think is stronger
than the strong man armed? Who spoils his good? Who is that?
Who was that who gave everybody a penny and gave the last as
much as he did the first? Who was he? Who was he that called us? Who
was he that gave all of us the same? For there ain't going to
be no rewards. Every one of us is going to receive
the same. All of us receive Christ. All
of us receive salvation by grace. You receive it when you're 75
years old and you come in at the 11th hour. Or you start it
when you're 17 years old like some of you kids have. And you
start at 17 and you're going to labor all your life. until
you get to be old. And that man that come in at
75, come in at the 11th hour, he's going to go to glory before
you. He's going to receive his penny. He's going to receive
his reward. And when you get there, after you've borne the
burden here today, you're going to get the same thing he did. And you know what? It ain't going
to make you mad. Is it not lawful for him to do
what he will with his own? Oh my. And then you read Luke
15. The Lord Jesus Christ is the
shepherd going into the wilderness and finding his sheep. And when
he found it, lays it on his shoulders and carries it home. He is that
woman who searches throughout that house until she finds her
lost coin. He is the everlasting Father
who's standing on the roof looking for the part of the Son and welcomes
Him home when He comes home. Oh my, he is the merchant man
who found that one pearl of great price which is the church, his
blessed people. He is that merchant man who gives
all that he has to buy that one pearl of great price, sold all
that he had, everything he had to purchase us. calls us a pearl,
a great prize, and the great prize is himself. In all every
parable, look over here in Matthew 13 with me a minute. Every parable,
either directly or indirectly, presents the Lord Jesus Christ
to us in His person, or in His blessed work, and reveals unto
us the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. He had just been speaking
the parables. Here's the parable of the seed
sower and so and seed. And then he says in verse 9,
Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. And the disciples came
and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? Why
are you using parables? Why are you using earthly Temporal
illustrations, things of the earth, the things that happen
on the earth, such as sowing seed, the different types of
ground, different ways in which it fell, and the different kinds
of fruit. But for why are you speaking unto them in parables?
He answers them unto them, because it is given unto you. That's not the business of the
kingdom of heaven. But to them it's not given. They
don't understand. They don't get it. But I understand
it. I understand it. Why? Because
it's given unto me to say that. He said, Many kings and prophets
and righteous men have desired to see what you see, and have
not seen it. Blessed are your eyes. Blessed
are your eyes. And then let me show you this,
back over here in our text tonight. In Luke 24. This is my last point. But you know, why did our Lord
Jesus Christ preach? He preached Himself. He preached
Himself. Didn't He? You know, that's why He says,
Come unto Me. Come unto Me. Now if I stood here and said,
Come unto Me, and I'll try to help you, and I'll try to do
the best I can by you, that don't amount to much. But when the
Lord Jesus Christ says, You, come unto Me, Here you'll find
salvation. Here you'll find strength. Here
you'll find life. Here you'll find hope. Here you'll
find forgiveness. Here you'll find righteousness.
Here you'll find justification. Here you'll find God himself
coming to me. And oh my, look what he says
here now then in Luke. You see in the Great Commission.
He preached himself in the great commission, revealed himself,
preached himself, then he opened their understanding, verse 45,
that they might understand the scriptures. He has to open the
understanding. We wouldn't understand the scriptures.
How long did we read them? How long did we preach from them
and never seen Christ as the message of it? Oh my. Instead of seeing his
righteousness, I saw me trying to establish my own righteousness.
For a long time. Instead of seeing his work, I
saw scriptures that encouraged me to do my work. And all of us have been there.
At one time or another. One of the folks who knew how
good we was, how good we was living, how well we was living.
But he opens our understanding one day and the scriptures begin
to unlock. They begin just to fall into
place. Start having light coming out of them. And then he tells them why that
he had to come into this world to suffer. And why he had to
die. And why he rose again from the
third day. And then the results of that.
That's the message for us to preach. Because we're witnesses
of these things. And that repentance and remission
of sins should be preached in his name. Whose name? Go out and tell men about me.
Tell them to repent. And that repentance and remission
of sins is through my name, through my power, through my word, through
my person, through my blood, through my righteousness. And
that's what he's saying here. You go and tell men about me.
Huh? And that's what he says. You're
witnesses of these things. And do it where you want to do
it at. Do it in all nations, wherever you go, wherever you
go. And that's why believers, we
do have a worldview. We're not just stuck here in
Tomlin County. We got people we know in France.
We got people we know in Mexico. We got people we know in England. And we see the world in the view
as a believer season. People that need to be converted.
People that need the gospel carried to them. People that need to
hear about Christ. So you know we view the world
not just as what we can do here. And I look forward no more. We
see the whole world in need of salvation. Every nation. Black
and white and yellow and green. And east coast, west coast, north
and south. And wherever you go, we see that
men need Christ. And that's why we chant His name. and witness of His power and
His glory and His salvation and His death and His burial and
His resurrection as the only hope for us sinners. Wherever
we go, we don't change our message when we go to Russia, we don't
change when we go to Mexico, we may not speak their language,
but we don't change our message. They need the same gospel. I
tell you, if you're in the middle of Africa, or you're in the middle
of Chicago, it's the same message. Ain't it, Gary? And oh my, you
see, the Old Testament looked forward to Christ, and His Word,
because He said, it's written. The Old Testament was pointing
to Him, and saying, He's coming. And let me show you this in Matthew
28, and then I'm through. Matthew 28, just a minute. Matthew
28, 18. You know, he preached himself
even in the Great Commission here. He says in Matthew 28,
18, And Jesus came and spake unto them. There he
is, he's speaking unto them, saying, All power, all authority,
all might is given unto me, both in heaven and in earth. So since
I've got all power and all authority, I'm telling you what I'm going
to have you do. You're going to do this. Go ye therefore and
teach all nations. And you look in the margins,
that word teach means make disciples. Make disciples. And you know
making disciples is something that's a lifetime experience. Teaching them. teaching them. You're not made a disciple just,
you know, we've converted, we're saved, but oh my, we're in a
new world. Have you arrived yet? Have you learned Christ yet,
the way that you ought to want to learn Him? Are you as faithful
and as generous and as gracious and as loving and as forgiving
and as strong a witness As you'd like to be? That's what's called
making a disciple. One that's a follower. One that's
a learner. Now they make disciples of all
nations. And what's this? Teaching them. That's what it
says. In verse 20. Teaching them. To do what? To observe everything
that I commanded. I love that. Teaching them the
things that I commanded. I like that. Oh boy. Well, we're going to start Catechism
Crisis. We're going to teach you what the church standing
on this thing is and that other thing on eschatology. sonorology
and ecclesiology and if I could think of another I'd
give it to you but I can't think of another there's a whole bunch
of them ologies but he says you teach them not what the church
says but what I say ain't that what he said teaching them all
things that I command you and all he says and this is him And
I'm going with you, wherever you go. I'm going to be right
there with you. I'm going to never leave you.
I'll never leave you. Ain't that what he says? Even
to the end of the age. How can we do this? How can we
go and do this? And when we do this, this is
the only thing that we can do, is to preach thy Lord Jesus Christ
in His glory, in His fullness, as the Savior, as Lord, as King,
To preach our Lord Jesus Christ in saving work and the glory
of His power, all authority is given unto me." It ain't, would
you please come and let Jesus into your heart. It isn't, will
you please accept Jesus. It isn't, please, Jesus stands
wanting to save you. All power and authority is given
unto me. submit, give up, throw down your
weapons, surrender to the Lord of glory. Huh? Oh my. Did Christ preach himself? He did. He did. Our Father, Thank you for allowing
us this wonderful privilege together to speak of you again. Oh Lord
Jesus, we just skirt the issues, skirt the hem of the garment.
There's so much to say, so much to learn, so much we want to
know. And our cup runs over. But Lord, we still cast ourselves
upon you to teach us, to instruct us, to enlighten us, and as you
open their understanding to the Scriptures, open our understanding
to your Scriptures. Would you do that, please, Lord
Jesus? O Holy Spirit, come and open our understandings to the
Word, to the Scriptures. We bless you and praise you in
our Lord Jesus' name. Amen.
