I've entitled the message for
this evening, Why Was Isaac Blessed? Look at the way this blessing
is described, beginning in verse 2 of Genesis chapter 26. May I say that this blessing
Isaac has is the blessing every believer has, without exception. So when we read this passage
of scripture, understand if you're in Christ, this is his blessing
to you. Verse two. And the Lord appeared unto him. I think this was one of those
pre-incarnate appearances of the Lord Jesus Christ. He appeared
unto him. Now he hadn't appeared to me
like that or you like that, but if you've heard his voice, if
you've heard the gospel, he has appeared to you. That is incredible. He has appeared unto you. That, I can't get over that. He appeared to me and said, go not down into Egypt, dwell in the land which I shall tell
thee of. Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee. When blessed with a sense of
his love, a palace, a toy would appear, and prisons would palaces
prove if Jesus would dwell with me there. I will be with thee. When I'm aware of it and when
I'm not aware of it, I will be with thee. For unto thee
