Thank you, Todd. I bring you
greetings and the unfeigned love of your brethren from Florida.
They have a sincere appreciation for you and for your pastor,
as I do. And I love you, brother. I'm
thankful for you. I first heard the gospel from your pastor 20
years ago, and I'll forever be grateful for that. If you'd like
to open your Bibles with me, we're going to be looking at
two passages of Scripture. One is in 2 Corinthians 6, and
the other one is in Isaiah 49. So you might want to mark both
of those passages. We may be moving back and forth
between them. The Gospel is never presented
in God's Word without urgency. Never does the Lord tell us about
the glorious person and accomplished work of the Lord Jesus Christ
and then say to us, you need to think about that. He calls on us to believe. Now, in 2 Corinthians chapter
5 at verse 19, Paul refers to himself as an ambassador, or
verse 20, as an ambassador for Christ, as though God did beseech
you by us, we pray you in Christ's stead be reconciled to God. I so enjoyed meeting with the
men yesterday morning, and we saw that in Acts chapter 2, when
the Lord used Peter to preach the first gospel message after
the crucifixion that Peter began his message with, they that call
upon the Lord shall be saved. That was how he started the message. My hope this morning is that
the Lord will put an in Christ's debt. Come to Christ
now. Pastor. The two biggest false refuges
that men and women, boys and girls hide in is the past and
the future. Biggest ones. If you look back
to something in the past to give you assurance that you're saved
right now, it's a false assurance. And if you're looking to something
that you hope to do in the future, that's just some kind of work
you think you're performing. Those are both false refuges. Thank you, brother. The time
to believe on Christ for you is right now. Let's pray. Lord, we ask in Christ's name. that you will run us out of our
false refuges and cause us to actually trust
thy dear son right now as all. Lord, we ask that you would enable
us to look to nothing more than him. Nothing less than him. and nothing else but Him as all
in our salvation. And Lord, we confess what joy
we have in looking nowhere but to Thy dear Son. Cause your gospel to bring forth fruit. In Christ's
name we pray. Amen.
