“In all things he might have the preeminence.” (Col. 1:18)
The Lord Jesus Christ must have the preeminence in all things. In our faith Christ must have the preeminence to such a degree that ALL of our trust is in Him. It is not even worth considering trusting in anything we do in the flesh. Christ must have the preeminence in our preaching. Christ and Him crucified is the only subject of our preaching. No other subject is worth preaching about. Christ must have the preeminence in all of our thoughts about religion and worship. Christ must have the preeminence not our orthodoxy. Christ must have the preeminence not our morality. Christ must have the preeminence not our works. Christ must have the preeminence not how the world is governed. Christ must have the preeminence in all things. Anything else makes us children of a lesser god.
