“Alive Unto God”

Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Romans 6:11

    True faith ultimately receives the Word of God without question. The faith that God’s Spirit gives in regeneration believes the unbelievable and comprehends the incomprehensible. How can we who are so sinful and dead unto God be dead unto sin and alive unto God? By grace through faith we reckon (know) it to be so, because God made it so through Jesus Christ our Lord. The sanctifying work of God the Spirit in regeneration receives the love of the truth, embracing the Son of the living God in all his glorious work.

    The spiritual birth of the child of God renders death to the old man of sin daily. That which God freely gives by grace is the spring and substance of life. The one who is alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord, has a new heart that throbs with desire and love for Christ, his Gospel, his work, his church, and the growth of his kingdom on this earth.
