Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. - 1 Peter 5:7
Care has several meanings, two of which we see here in this verse. The first one reflects the believer’s trials, afflictions, and adversities in and of the flesh. The second one, he careth for you, the promise of his lovingkindness and providential hand in supplying our needs. No matter how deep our sorrow, no matter how severe our pain, no matter how shaken we are by our fears, he is always with us and cares for his loved ones.
He sends those things in love that we may experience his mercy and grace in our life. He careth for you is more that an emotion. It is the hand of God moving in our life every day for our good and his glory. It is not everyone that receives the gracious invitation Cast all your care upon Me. It is not everyone to whom he says he careth for you.
If you do not know Him, you have nowhere to cast your care. In your care and trouble there is silence from the throne of God. However, the child of God may come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need (Heb 4:16).
