Let us beware of the notion that there is anything less than honorable about being poor or working with our hands. Moses was tending sheep when God called him; Gideon was threshing wheat, Elisha was plowing; the disciples were fishing for a living! Paul was content to make tents even after he was put into the ministry.

I find that the less care and concern men and women have for the material things of this world, the more time and interest they have for spiritual matters.
