How can we be sure of our salvation in Christ?

Answered in 5 sources

We can be sure of our salvation because Scripture affirms that we are secure in our union with Christ, who is our righteousness (1 John 5:13).

The assurance of salvation comes from the understanding that it is based not on our fluctuating feelings or deeds, but on the unchanging character of Christ and His finished work. 1 John 5:13 assures us that the purpose of John’s writing is that we may know we have eternal life. Our salvation is secured by God's sovereign grace, and our status as God's beloved children is settled in Christ. We derive our confidence not from our works, but from the promise that in Him we are complete and fully accepted.
