How can we recognize the sheep of Christ?

Answered in 1 source

The sheep of Christ are recognized by their ability to hear His voice and follow Him, as Christ knows them intimately.

To recognize the sheep of Christ, one must consider the assurance given by Christ that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him (John 10:14, 27). These believers discern the truth from falsehood, as they are led by the Holy Spirit who dwells within them. Their ability to not follow strangers—those who preach false doctrines—demonstrates a profound understanding of their relationship with Christ. The mark of a true follower is a continuous turning toward Christ and his teachings, as well as a growing devotion to His word. The faithful steward of God’s message serves to equip the sheep for this journey by proclaiming the truth of the gospel in its purity.
