How do believers deal with sin after being saved?

Answered in 1 source

Believers continue to struggle with sin but are called to seek forgiveness and strive for holiness.

While believers are justified and regarded as righteous before God due to Christ's work, they still contend with sin in their daily lives. First John 1:8 warns that if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves. Thus, believers are to continually approach God in repentance, relying on His faithfulness to forgive as stated in 1 John 1:9. This ongoing process is part of the Christian experience, as they actively pursue holiness, encouraged by the Holy Spirit residing within them. The struggle against sin serves as evidence of their genuine faith and dependence on God's grace for both justification and sanctification.
