How do believers find strength to submit to difficult authorities?

Answered in 1 source

Believers rely on the example and strength of Christ to submit to difficult authorities.

Believers are called to submit to their authorities, even when they are difficult, as an act of obedience to God (1 Peter 2:18-19). The strength to do so comes from reflecting on Christ’s own example in suffering and injustice. As stated in 1 Peter 2:21, Christ suffered without sinning, setting the perfect example for believers to follow. This divine empowerment troubles the natural inclination to resist authority; instead, believers are called to remember their identity in Christ and allow His spirit to guide their response in difficult situations. By doing so, they honor God in all circumstances.
