Christ is our sure foundation because He is the chief cornerstone laid by God, perfectly righteous, and able to save to the uttermost.
Ephesians 2:19-21 states that believers are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone. This foundation is secure, established by God for His elect. Christ, as a tried and precious stone (Isaiah 28:16), is not only the foundation, but He also fulfills the law perfectly and provides righteousness for His people. Because of this divine establishment and Christ’s eternal nature, those built upon Him are guaranteed to stand firm against the storms of life and judgment. They shall never fall, for their hope is in the everlasting rock, Jesus Christ.
