How do we know Christ's righteousness is sufficient?

Answered in 22 sources

Christ's righteousness is sufficient because it is the very righteousness of God, meeting all requirements for our justification (Romans 3:21-26).

The sufficiency of Christ's righteousness is rooted in the nature of who He is—both fully God and fully man. Jesus, as the God-Man, fulfilled the law perfectly and bore the penalty for sin on behalf of His people. In Romans 3:21-26, the Apostle Paul explains that God presented Christ as a propitiation through faith in His blood, demonstrating His righteousness to justify those who believe. Since His righteousness is divine and eternal, it is sufficient to cover all sin and to meet God's perfect standard. Thus, when we rest in Christ, we can be assured that His righteousness alone is adequate for our justification and acceptance before God.
