How do we know Christ's virgin birth is important?

Answered in 1 source

Christ's virgin birth is crucial because it affirms His divine nature, making Him free from original sin.

The virgin birth of Jesus is fundamental to His identity as the Messiah. It is narrated in Matthew 1:18-23, stating that Mary, a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit. This doctrine is essential because, without the virgin birth, Jesus would inherit the sinful nature passed down from Adam through human lineage. Romans 5 explains that by one man's disobedience, sin entered the world, but Jesus, being born of a virgin, was not tainted by sin. Thus, He is able to be the perfect, sinless sacrifice for our redemption. Moreover, mainstream beliefs that diminish the significance of the virgin birth undermine the very foundation of salvation, which is based on God's redemptive plan through a sinless Savior.
