How do we know faith is genuine?

Answered in 4 sources

Genuine faith is revealed through tests and trials that God provides to His people.

In the Christian life, faith must be tested to prove its authenticity. As illustrated in Genesis 22, God tested Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice Isaac. This trial was not for God's sake but rather for Abraham to demonstrate and realize the depth of his faith. The trials we face are meant to reveal how genuine our trust in God truly is. James 1:2-3 states, 'Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.' Genuine faith holds firm through trials and emerges stronger, building our reliance on the Lord and demonstrating His faithfulness.
