How do we know faith is genuine?

Answered in 2 sources

Genuine faith is evidenced by the fruit it produces in a believer's life.

The authenticity of faith is demonstrated through its fruits, as stated in James 2:26, 'For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.' Genuine faith results in a transformed life, characterized by love, joy, and a desire to serve God and others. This transformation is the work of the Holy Spirit, enabling believers to bear good fruit as evidence of their faith. As believers grow in their understanding of God's grace, their lives reflect the changes brought about by that faith, leading to fruitful living as a testimony to the sovereign grace that has saved them.
