How do we know faith is important for Christians?

Answered in 19 sources

Faith is essential for Christians as it enables them to see and understand spiritual realities, thus sustaining their hope and perseverance.

Faith holds a critical place in the Christian life because it is the means by which we perceive spiritual truths and realities that are otherwise unseen. Hebrews 11:1 states that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Through faith, Christians gain insight into God's sovereign grace, feel assured of their salvation, and recognize the assurance that comes from Christ's righteousness. It empowers believers to live in accordance with God's will and pleases Him, for without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). Faith acts as a lens through which we can view both our present struggles and our future hope.
